Hi Everyone!
Painting your fingernails can be helpful when you have discoloration during some chemo treatments. Check with your doctor if you choose regular polish (acetone). But you can use water based nail polish - like Piggy Paint (not a sponsorship) They smell great or you can get ones without scent if you feel sensitive to smell. Listen to my podcast and here what more painting your nails.
Letting go! Understanding how you feel, recognize it, say it to yourself and then let ago. Come listen to my podcast and I will explain how this is done and what exercises to do and how this will help your mindset and body in the long run.
Taking care of ourselves, in addition to eating well, and taking care of our bodies, also means making life a little easier for ourselves, releasing negative energies, negative thoughts from our bodies, and then allowing the wonderful thoughts of giving thanks and being grateful, into our bodies, minds and life.
Crockpot is one of many ways that makes things easier for us; I use the brand Crock Pot (hahaha) that's the actual name. I purchased this at Bed Bath and Beyond.
Yoga Balls, are a great way to loosen tension for tight muscles that cause you discomfort. I'm going to try two that I purchased. If they turn out to be good, I will recommend them to you. Stretching can help with a lot of tension that can be experienced throughout the body. It can release the tension, help to feel better and sturdier.
Finally Mediative Prayer. It's a way to talk openly to God about how you feel, what you want to change. It's a release that can help you get rid of the negative, and bring in the beautiful. But it will also help you see that you have a lot to be grateful for.
I look forward to sharing this talk with you.
Elizabeth
This is something that some us of have gone through, and possibly friends or family members may go through when they have discovered that they have breast cancer. If you are going through this feeling of anger, and tears, don’t despair. Let it happen, let it flow, and let it go. Because I see it as a time of change. Change can be difficult and sometimes darn right painful. I kind of feel this is really a part of our process of admitting that we are scared, angry and probably want to ask the question "why did this have to happen to me."
Join me as I share my story of a melt down, when I had to go to get my port put in. Then at the end, we will have a short meditation to calm our minds and our emotions.
Stay well and Stay Safe,
Elizabeth
Hi There!
Happy July 4th! And happy Frederick Douglas Day!
Detoxing can help clear up those areas in our bodies that are affected by medicines. Detoxing help clear our minds, gets rid of cloudiness that we may sometime feel when we have chemo, so we can think more with clarity. It helps with our mood as well. Our body organs can stay in working order, particularly like our liver, our kidneys, when we detox. There are a lot of information you can get on detoxing. One source I would love to share is located on the youtube channel: Cityline, a Canadian talk show, hosted by Tracey Moore. The episode particularly good on detox is with nutritionist, Andrea Donsky. "detoxing your liver". The other "5 gentle ways to naturally detox every day".
As a gentle reminder, always check in with your doctor or nurses, so that none of these practical tips will interfere with your treatments.
But our bodies are not the only things to detox. How about our outlook of our present and future selves. There is an important lesson that self care teaches us. And this is self value. Listen more, you'll find how we get there!
Stay Well and Stay Safe!
All the best,

With exercise, it can be helpful for when we receive our chemo. If we can keep our strength up it will help us keep the side effects in check. Excercise will help us to manage our side effects. With exercise you don’t have to go overboard, you can do simple stretches each day, just to get your body warmed up. Any exercise is better than none at all. Excerise gets your blood flowing, and for some reason it helps the body to help it self to heal and has the ability to ward off long term discomforts.
You can choose excerises like yoga, walking, running. When you have surgery the doctors will reduce your routine to stretching, until you have healed. See how exercise can be helpful to your healing.
I will share with you the revelation of excerise.
Be Safe and Be Well.
All the best,
Elizabeth
This episode is about how to take care of our neuropathy in our hands and feet. Look in your cupboards and find cinnamon. Using moisterizers and coverings that can help the symptons of neurothapy.
Know that caring for these side effects from chemotherapies, is also a way to practice valuing who we are. Hear More.
Note: I meant to mention this in the podcast. When you are washing dishes, or cleaning use rubber gloves to protect your hands. As water is hydrating, it can also be very drying. There is nothing worse than dry hands with neuropathy. Dryness makes the neuropathy more pronounced. Rubber glovers are very good for protecting your hands.
Stay safe and stay well

Welcome to Life Revelations from Breast Cancer, and if this is the first time you are listening to the podcast, I welcome you to this community. In this episode we continue to talk about how to take good care ourselves during chemotherapy. There are some side effects we may experience with chemotherapy and treatments, that we can approach practically, without resorting to additional medications. And while the chemo is doing it’s job or removing the cancer from our bodies, as one of my doctors said me, is that it is our job to make sure we get the chemo out of our systems. But I want to add to that, and that is to take care of the effects it has on our bodies, so that when we are finished with the chemotherapy and treatments, we don’t succumb to a lot of the damage. Instead when we are finished we will be focused on continuing our wellness, and embrace some change in our lives. We want to be ready for the prosperity of this change, and embrace new meaning in our lives. As a gentle reminder, always check in with your doctor or nurses, so that none of these practical tips will interfere with your treatments
In this podcast, we will talk about some of the practical ways to take our our teeth, nails and our skin. I will then share some of the revelations that can be learned from it.
