Dr. Priya Freaney, Cardiologist at the Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, joins Lisa Dent to discuss menopause and how its onset affects women’s heart health. Heart disease is the largest cause of death for women, and the risk significantly increases after the beginning of menopause. Dr. Freaney shares how the loss of estrogen, other changes brought on by menopause contribute to an increase in heart disease in women.
