She goes on to highlight the Foundation’s VisionWalk happening Sunday, May 31st, at Busse Woods. The event features a 5k, a marching band, and family-friendly games. All proceeds go to the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ mission.

Joabe Barbosa, Brazilian-born and English-raised runner and Roosevelt University doctoral student rejoins the Lisa Dent Show to look back on his journey as he enters the homestretch of completing his goal of running through every street in Chicago. He reminisces on the different people and areas he’s come across on his runs, mentioning how many people throughout the city have welcomed him with open arms.

In honor of the 250 years since the United States’ conception, Lisa will be chatting about some of the beautiful natural parks that help preserve the landscape and wildlife of this country. In this iteration, Mike Fitz, Resident Naturalist with Explore.com joins Lisa to highlight Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska. He emphasizes the land’s resilience despite its volcanic history. Within decades of Alaskan volcano, Novarupta erupting in 1912, the area made a near-complete, if not full, recovery. Later Mike, addresses the beginning of pre-hibernation season for the numerous bears occupying the park.

Producers Collin McCarthy and Drew Harris turn on their mics and answer questions relating to their generation, Generation Z. This week they answer questions regarding manual versus automatic transmission.
