    Title: Dying Days 4
    Author: Armand Rosamilia
    Narrator: Amanda M. Lehman
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 44 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-17-15
    Publisher: Armand Rosamilia
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 8 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Horror
    Publisher's Summary:
The fourth book in the Dying Days series....
"With Dying Days 4, Armand Rosamilia continues to carve his own glorious path through the zombie apocalypse. His unique blend of sex and violence; well-rendered melancholy; and tough-as-nails, pedal-to-the-metal, can-do attitude makes for a story that gets it all just right. Rosamilia is a bright light for a dark country, and one of a handful of writers I know I can turn to when I want to have the crap scared out of me. He's that good." - Joe McKinney, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Dead City and Plague of the Undead
    Critic Reviews:
"Level up with Rosamilia's take on smarter, scarier zombies! They don't sleep, and neither will you...." (Robert Chazz Chute, author of This Plague of Days)
"Armand Rosamilia has masterly crafted a unique zombie book with many moving parts. Dying Days 4 should be on every zombie fanatics list" (Mark Tufo, author of the Zombie Fallout series)

    These zombies are no joke!
As a reviewer, it's the rare occasion that I get the opportunity to read for just pleasure. However, I started the Dying Days series before I began reviewing and it is just something I can't pass up when I see Armand has released a new meal for readers to gobble up.
Darlene Bobich has long been a character I could relate to. I'm a sucker for a snarky, inappropriate female personality in my literature, and she has always delivered some good laughs. Her role in Dying Days 4 is much less the center stage it has been in previous books, and the author has made way for other characters to dominate. I'm good with this, because it's another female rivaling Darlene's bitchiness.
The two female characters butt heads through the book, which makes for some interesting conflict. Darlene is pregnant and ready to pop, and on the run with now-hubby John and his dad, Murph.
Armand's zombies have drastically evolved from the mindless masses introduced in book one. They are now smarter than most survivors, can strategize to ambush, and have the capacity to use weapons. That, my friends, is a scary combo for a zombie, and one I never hope to meet!
I'm glad Armand has given us new people to play with...even though he took some away throughout...and hope Darlene takes over again in future releases. That's not to say Tosha wasn't entertaining, but for me as a reader, it's Darlene that I'm attached to.
There are some minor editing snafus, but nothing major enough to affect my reading experience or the rating I feel the book deserves. Creativity, overall reading experience, and character progression earns Dying Days 4 a 5 star rating from The Bookie Monster
These Ain't Your Zombies from "Night of the Living Dead"!
I have become a big fan of Armand Rosamilia, but he has turned it up an notch in Dying Days 4! I am not going
to give you all the details as you need to download and read this book for yourself, but when the Zombies
start becoming smarter than the living humans, you know it's not going to turn out pretty! Besides being
smart, I really like the humor that Armand has given some of the Zombies to display.

Once again Noel and Time entertain!
What did you love best about The Lost Boy: A Haunting in Connecticut?
This is my third journey into the writing of Noel Hynd's ghost stories. Like the two audiobooks prior to this one, Time Winters narrates. What a team. These two, Noel and Time, entertain like no others. I have become a big fan of both.
What other book might you compare The Lost Boy: A Haunting in Connecticut to and why?
    Noel's prior stories.
What does Time Winters bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His characters are believable without being over dramatic. He is a wonderful storyteller. It's like being read to by a cool uncle when you were young (you know him, the one that pulls quarters from behind your ear)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Listening to audiobooks while I practice guitar is my main stay, however, I find myself stopping and listening with my mouth agape. Yes...that is good fiction.
    Any additional comments?
Noel is very personable too. Did you ever have a question or two after finishing a book? I e-mailed him the questions. Guess what? He responded and answered. Now that is a great writer, concerned with his audience. Thank Noel, you da man!
    karma is a bitch
If you could sum up The Lost Boy: A Haunting in Connecticut in three words, what would they be?
    Atmospheric, creepy, satisfying.
What about Time Winterss performance did you like?
It just meshed so well with the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but it definitely kept my interest.
    Any additional comments?
It was like an extended episode of The Twilight Zone.

Hard Times. After almost two decades, Mike finds himself out of a job. With no prospects in Angel Hill, he decides to go into business for himself. He and his friends, Brian, Steven, and Keith, form a company to buy cheap houses and flip them for quick profit. It was a great plan - until their first project turned out to be more than they bargained for.
What qualifies a house as haunted? Brian is still grieving over the loss of his parents when something resembling his mother slithers out from behind the bed and screams at him to get out of the house. With nowhere to turn, he tries the empty house he and his partners have just started renovating. The house on Irving has never seen a death inside its walls, and there are no ghosts lurking in its shadows. But that night, Brian senses something waiting in the dark outside the bathroom door for him. Steven happens upon a drawing left by the previous owner. Something about the picture entrances him, and soon he's searching every nook and cranny for more, spiraling into an obsession over a girl he's never met, dreaming that she's beckoning him to come and be with her in the basement. Keith brings a date over to show off his new business venture, but she has a tragic fall and is hospitalized. Hammered by guilt, Keith starts seeing her in the house, broken and twisted, crawling across the floor toward him.
Does a curse ever die? What started as the answer to all their problems turned into a bigger nightmare than any of them could have predicted. And there's no way out, because for these four friends, it was too late the moment they stepped inside.

Liked it better than the first one
Liked it better than the first one ... maybe I'm just getting to know the characters better. It's a quick read with no lulls in the action.
    Even better
A sequel that surpasses the first in just about every way. There is some very welcome and beautifully written drama between the action, one flashback in particular left a tear in my eye and I came out of it looking at an important character in an entirely different light. I do think there are still some characters that are getting shafted given the relatively short length of the novels, I want more Jessica, but the time Zach's taken to develop certain characters has been very fulfilling, especially David, who might be Zach's best character yet.
    Another Great Read!
Although I didn't like it as much as the 1st book, it was a really, really good read. I would probably give this book 5 stars if I wasn't comparing it to the 1st book. I've already ordered the 3rd book in this series & am really looking forward to it, *Tip--Make sure you read these books in order! The characters are put together wonderfully in the first book & they just pick up where they left off in the 2nd. Great job Zach!
    Enjoy reading
Like this book was hoping they would of kill David need to read the next book so I see what happens
A great second installment to a series
The second book in Zach Bohannon's Empty Bodies is as just as good as the first. I liked the characters, and I disagree with one reviewer saying the villain being typical, David Ellis is a complete prick, and I hate him. Only a few writers have made me actually hate a character, and Mr. Bohannon has pulled that off. I also like and relate to many of the main characters as well. As for the ending, I thought it was great, and it left me ready for the third installment to come out, all I can say is hurry it up, and read this book you will not be disappointed

Eel River brings an original, hippie commune angle to horror, furthering our commitment to offering the best in innovative dark fiction.
    Members Reviews:
Good depiction of hippies, boring horror
As other reviewers have said, the descriptions of the time and place are wonderful. I could feel like I understood what that time and place felt like. But....this was supposed to be a horror novel, and the horror aspect fell really flat for me. I read a lot of fantasy and horror, and I kept waiting for the atmosphere of the book to be creepy, and it never got there for me. There were a lot of scenes telling us that the monster was mean, or the monster hated the people...and that felt tacked on, after she had clearly spent a lot of time perfecting the Northern California hippie feel for the setting. The result was the book was just OK. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is a fan of horror, as they would be disappointed, nor would I recommend it to a new genre reader, as it's not a good example of horror.
That said, if Page writes anything that is straight fiction, I would definitely give it a try. Not everyone has the proper feel for writing horror or fantasy.
    Excellent Book!
This book is very good. I really enjoyed reading it. As the story unfolded, I felt like I was there with the main character.
The story is creative and unique. I never felt like I knew where it was headed, so I never wanted to put the book down. I definitely look forward to more work from the author.
Modern fairy tale packs a punch
A modern fairy tale, Page's horror story of what happens to a hippie commune in Northern California who fails to understand that sometimes, things are not what they seem is beautifully written and shows a deft hand with characterization. The protagonist, a young girl who refers to herself as the Princess, accepts both the natural and unnatural horrors she comes across as normal, reminding us that childhood's unflinching gaze is often more reliable than any adult's.
Hippies, horror, and once upon a time.
Eel River captures how it felt to be the child of people who rejected growing up themselves. Hippies were all about freedom, but too much freedom can be terrifying to a child. Page has a straightforward writing style that propels the story of The Princess, her younger brother and her idealistic but aimless parents. But don't be deceived by the clear, clean prose; this book deftly portrays the back-to-nature lifestyle in all its absurd and beautiful detail. The family's story of free love, drug use, organic farming and bad carpentry makes a perfect backdrop for the ever-growing menace of a Land that has a mind of its own.
    Liked it.
A well done story of a family living the hippie lifestyle as told through the oldest child. With a monster.
What stood out for me, is how authentically the hippie culture was portrayed. Often, hippies liked to portray themselves as idealistic and more evolved, this book takes a more jaded view, the full spectrum of humanity is present, the good and the bad.
    Good plot. Good characters.
I look forward to more from this author.

Leo Defford doesn't believe in ghosts. But as the head of an independent production company, he does believe in high-impact TV. Defford hires journalist Grayle Underhill to research the history of Knap Hall, a one-time Tudor farmhouse that became the ultimate luxury guest house...until tragedy put it back on the market.
Its recent history isn't conducive to a quick sale, but Defford isn't interested in keeping Knap Hall for longer than it takes to make a reality TV show that will run night after night. A house isolated by its rural situation and its dark reputation. Seven people, nationally known, but strangers to one another, locked inside. But this time Big Brother may not be in control.
    Members Reviews:
Big Brother in a haunted house, or Big Other
Big Brother in a haunted house, or Big Other as the show runner named it. If this is your first book by Phil Rickman then I would suggest going back and reading the first two books he previous wrote under the name Wil Kingdom that tell the backstory of a few of the characters. However, I think you could enjoy this story without having read the first two.
Grayle is a journalist with a background of a column she wrote in the US about various areas of spirituality, especially of the New Age sort and having worked to keep afloat a magazine in Great Britain owned by Marcus Bactin called The Phenomologist. When this story opens, the wonderfully grumpy Marcus has given up his magazine and is now writing his magnum opus, a book on the supernatural. Grayle is working as a stringer for a struggling regional press service. When she is offered a job as a research for a Big Brother like program to be set in a haunted house it appears to be the answer to everyone's prayers except hers.
Grayle yearns for journalistic credibility, which it seems that being a researcher for the Big Other is not going to grant her. The original center of the story is a house owned by the remaining member of a celebrity couple and that was once offered as a very upscale hotel where the guests paid to be cosseted in a Tudor atmosphere without the Tudor discomfort. Add the story of one of Henry VIII's wives, a Welsh cross-dressing shaman and ventriloquist, a group of (mainly) has been celebrities and the story is set up for another really good story by Phil Rickman.
As for the narration-- ok Sean Barrett is no Emma Powell (the narrator of the Merrily Watkins books) but he has almost toned out all of the original New Jersey accent he gave poor Grayle in the first book-- seriously, she's a daughter of New York intelligentsia, not from the Jersey Shore. I do like his voicing of the other characters though and would look forward to more books in this series.
So what happened to Bobby Maiden, the policeman who had a central role in the two earlier book? He isn't here at all although there are a couple of references..
    Not good!
What would have made Night After Night better?
It was hard to follow. Lots of side story lines. Just didn't like it. Some of the accents were hard to understand.
What do you think your next listen will be?
    Mystery
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    Not many!
    Not too interesting
Started out well, but it did not hold my interest. Found my mind wandering. Maybe too many characters, I would have to listen to it again to get the full effects.
    Far too long!
Mr. Barrett's narration is the only reason I finished this book.

    Great book
Such a talented author, he gets you to care about the characters, hang on the edge of your seat and leaves you wanting more!
    Huge Mess of a Novel
I really liked the first book in the series. It had the right amount of horror and character development to make for a great story. The first one had a bit of a religious theme to it but not enough to make it an outright Christian themed novel. This second book is all religion in many of the negative judgemental forms that are the reason I don't read Christian fiction. And as if the judgmental doctrine in this book want enough to ruin it, the dialogue of the characters is almost unreadable. Every few sentences I found myself asking "who would ever say that? ". Couldn't even finish this book and will not be buying from this author again.
    Yay! A sequel!
Loved the first book! Didn't even realize it was a sequel because it's not titled that way. Might wanna fix that. Just as good as the first, too. Looking forward to many more!

    Fantastic.
Do I hate this book? Do I love it? Fool. Indecisive fool.
I am unsure. I think I love it but love dies. So maybe I would stick to hating to love it. Fool. Tom Fool, poor, small like able fool.
As far as world-building goes, this book is above par so much that the par is lost from sight. Fool, poor confused fool.
As far as character growth goes! Amazing. Epic is the word that comes to mind but poor Fool, Hell's fool.
Right. I loved this. Listened to it on audible and listened to certain passages again, and again and again. Poor stupid Fool.
To whom would I recommend this? Nobody. Everybody but take note. You will love or hate this book. A golden middle is not the path Fool takes.
    Amazing!
    A Fantastic Horror!
I was recommended this book from Audible due to my browsing/reading history. I read the synopsis and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I loved it!
I downloaded this as an audiobook after listening to the audio sample. I loved the narrator, David Rintoul. He brought the story and characters to life with his clear and precise reading.
Thomas Fool is a wonderful character. He is an "Information Man", a policeman to you and me, who investigates things when the denizens of Hell cause chaos or misbehave. I really liked this person. I don't know what he did in his previous life to end up in Hell, but I got the impression that he was a good man. Perhaps he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. When a denizen is found murdered in a very brutal way, Thomas and his fellow Information Men are sent to investigate and quickly find themselves facing a dangerous adversary.
Though I am not a huge lover of horror, I love detective stories. I started to listen to the story with no idea of what to expect. What I got was an unexpected journey through the eyes of the main protagonist, Thomas Fool. Hell is not a pleasant place to be in this book, and the demons are not exactly puppy dogs either. I love the descriptive quality of the horror in this book, though it can be pretty graphic and a little shocking. Some readers may find it too gruesome. Then again, my imagination can be a little too quick to paint vivid pictures and some may find that it may not be graphic enough for them. As only a moderate reader of horror, this story definitely shocked me (in a good way). I was quickly hooked and sat entranced as the story unfolded. It was a pleasure to see Thomas Fool's character grow throughout the story. He has to make some hard decisions in the course of his investigation. I wasn't so keen on his superior, Elderflower, though I only met him a few times. He reminds me too much of a government official, which I suppose he was to some degree.

The sequel is even more of actual than Sharc
Once again a great listen via Audible, and superbly written by Paul Rudd and also wonderfully narrated by Craig Beck. Events take place about a year after sharc and it's an adrenaline junkies paradise, with more tension and shark attacks that makes Jaws look like a teddy bears picnic. Emotionally felt attached to some of the characters and felt good when some of them survived and gutted when a couple didn't, overall a great listen and can't wait for more.
