    Title: Bull Mountain
    Author: Brian Panowich
    Narrator: Brian Troxell
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 9 hrs and 18 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-04-16
    Publisher: Jammer Audio
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Clayton Burroughs is the Sheriff of Bull Mountain and the black sheep of the Burroughs clan. In the past, the family ran moonshine and farmed marijuana; now they're the dominant suppliers of methamphetamine.
So when an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms shows up in Clayton's office with a plan to shut them down, his agenda will pit brother against brother and set Clayton on a path to self-destruction.
    Critic Reviews:
"This sprawling, gritty crime epic set in dope-damned hillbilly country signals the arrival of a major new talent." (Daily Express)
"Panowich had me at the first word...a sprawling, gritty, violent, tribal inter-generational crime epic." (C. J. Box, author of Endangered)
"This first novel has it all: moonshine, maryjane and mayhem! Read this book now - and succumb to a startling new talent." (James Ellroy)
    Members Reviews:
"Because we are family. And family forgives."
When I picked up âBull Mountainâ on Saturday morning my intent was to read a few chapters while I had my coffee. It didnât quite work out that way. I abandoned my âTo Doâ list and dedicated a good chunk of the day to reading this book. Yes, it was THAT good.
The Burroughs clan (think of the infamous Bondurant brothers) has been doing pretty much as they please up on Bull Mountain for generations. Running moonshine gave way to growing weed which gave way to cooking meth. The money continues to roll in, people occasionally disappearânobody is asking any questions.
Rather than taking his place in the âfamily businessâ, Clayton Burroughs opted to put on a Sheriffâs uniform. He doesnât interfere with mountain business (and his brother who calls the shots) as long as it doesnât spill over onto his turf. But an ATF Agent with an agenda arrives on the scene and upsets the status quo. Things are about to turn ugly.
While the writing is quite impressive, with a carefully plotted storyline and pitch-perfect pacing, what really stands out to me is the characterization. The author describes these people so vividly that I felt like I was sitting in the same room with them. There are a fair amount of characters populating this story and never once did I have trouble keeping them straight â they are all distinctive and fully dimensional. Not only are they distinctive, but theyâre also all quite interesting. There are no lulls in the story; itâs fast, tight and tense. The dialog is well done â unscripted with a natural sound and feel to it.
Itâs been a long time since Iâve read a novel in one sitting, but I just had to know how this story played out. It wasnât predictable, there are a few pretty big surprises and I was caught off guard a few times. I loved it and I highly recommend it.
Some swearing/strong language; some (non-explicit) sexual content; descriptive violence
    This was outstanding!
This was OUTSTANDING! My god did I love this book. From the very first chapter I was sucked in and hanging on to every word. There were many, many OH MY GOD moments that had my heart racing and my stomach nervous. We get multiple point of view's but it was very easy to follow and they were all necessary. This whole story stems from an incident way back when and the aftermath lasts generations. The depth of the characters, the theme of family was awesome.

    Publisher's Summary:
From James Dashner, author of the number-one New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series, comes The Game of Lives, the final audiobook in the Mortality Doctrine series, an edge-of-your-seat cyber-adventure trilogy that includes The Eye of Minds and The Rule of Thoughts.
Michael used to live to game, but the games he was playing have become all too real. Only weeks ago, sinking into the Sleep was fun.
The VirtNet combined the most cutting-edge technology, and the most sophisticated gaming for a full mind-body experience. And it was Michael's passion. But now every time Michael sinks, he risks his life.

If Kaine succeeds, it will mean worldwide cyber domination. And it looks like Michael and his friends are the only ones who can put the monster back in the box - if Michael can figure out who his friends really are.

Mortality Doctrine: The Game Of Lives
I choose this rating because the book is good. What I like about the book is that The games are over. Only weeks ago, sinking into the Sleep was fun. The VirtNet combined the most cutting-edge technology and the most sophisticated gaming for a full mind-body experience. But now the line which separates the virtual from the real is blurring. And every time Michael sinks, he risks his life. The VirtNet has become a world of deadly consequences, and the Mortality Doctrine Kaine's master plan has nearly been realized. If Kaine succeeds, it will mean worldwide cyber domination. And it looks like Michael and his friends are the only ones who can put the monster back in the box if Michael can figure out who his friends really are... 'More realistic and addictive than any video game...' (Kami Garcia, #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of Beautiful Creatures) What I dislike about the book is that I wanted to read more of it. I would recommend this book to other people.
    A Thrilling Cyber-Adventure!
The Game of Lives is officially out in paperback! So if you haven't yet picked up Dashner's cyber-adventure trilogy, now is definitely the time to start!
This book is just plain cool. In the thrilling conclusion to his Mortality Doctrine series, Dashner has brilliantly imagined a world in which virtual reality has been taken to terrifying new levels where the lines between what is real and what is virtual blur dangerously.
There are so many twists and turns in this inventive plot, I never knew what to expect.

    Title: Mr. Mayhem

Length: 6 hrs and 43 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-12-16
    Publisher: Jeff Widmer
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
A doctor wants to euthanize his terminal patients. A disgraced journalist wants a better job than flogging tours of crime scenes. The tour business is dying. There aren't enough murders in this sleepy town to draw a crowd.
A good serial killer would help.
So begins Mr. Mayhem, the new crime thriller from Jeff Widmer, journalist and author of Peak Season, a novel Kirkus Reviews calls "an entertaining mystery romp".
For a man known only as Brinker, the trouble starts when he's fired for reporting his publisher's DUI. Reduced to doing PR for a funeral home and its trolley tour of murder sites, Brinker despairs of ever restoring his pride - or his bank account. His addiction to prescription medication only fuels his rage.
When his doctor asks for a hand in dispatching hopeless patients, Brinker hires a wildly successful assassin named Angel, who brings chaos and fame to this backwoods town. But as Angel's demands soar with the body count, Brinker wonders whether he'll become the latest addition to his own list.

    Get on the Bus!
âThe tour bus is filling up?â
    Brinker nodded.
    âAnd so are the coffins.â
"Mr. Mayhem" socks you in the gut like a shot and a beer. The mayhem never stops in this plot-driven thriller set in creepy small-town PA, where there's not a hero to be found. Jeff Widmer takes you on a wild ride in the murderous tour bus in a uniquely dark and twisted story that manages to touch on euthanasia, medical ethics, addiction, greed, sleaze, family ties that bind, sex, scintillation, and more. And then there's Brinker...
The author has a cutting and clever way with words, which makes this serial killer tale gone awry morbidly humorous despite the carnage. And how did this guy ever come up with the plot?? Ya gotta wonder.
Mr Brinker comes across as a loser and a ne'er-do-well ...
Mr Brinker comes across as a loser and a ne'er-do-well yet he is the one who solves the mystery and brings to light, and eventually to justice, an involved local conspiracy involving a number of citizens who were considered upstanding in their community.
    Hometown Memories
Great read. Lots of references to names and streets and tourist sports in the Pocono Mountains. Reminiscing is great fun.
I enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next
Mr Mayhem (Brinker) is one strange character. I enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next book
    Very Enjoyable!
I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Mayhem and the sarcastic Brinker, who has a comeback for everyone. Since I lived in the Poconos, I was fascinated by mention of familiar places, things, and colloquialisms - and at the same time found myself wondering what seeds of truth were in here, mixed with the fiction!

    Not my cup of tea
What did you like best about Follow Me? What did you like least?
I found myself becoming annoyed at the way the policemen were portrayed as bungling buffoons and a twenty-three year so on top of life. I also found some of the social media points incorrect. Saying this, i do believe that a more younger reader would find teh book enjoyable.
    Any additional comments?
My suggestion is people over the age of 25 or in the Social Media profession give the book a miss.
    Teen book??
Like the narrator a lot. Easily identifiable character voices and lovely voice to listen to.
Story is good and holds your attention as quite fast moving. Quite London centric and desperately trendy, but in view of main subject - social media - suppose it fits.
However, I'm not sure who it is aimed at. Half the time felt I was listening to a book aimed at teens. The 'heroine' is an outwardly cocky 23 year old, who feeds the homeless and stands up for the weak.
