Into each life some rain must fall.
A woman crashes her car near the scenic Colorado ski resort town of Rocky Points and slips into a coma after suffering head trauma. The Sluice-Byron County first responders discover she's stolen her vehicle from central Washington, and doctors find her body is riddled with wounds that have nothing to do with the collision.
Chief Detective David Wolf of Rocky Points is two days from getting married when he learns the crash victim's identity is Special Agent Kristen Luke of the FBI - Wolf's colleague and former lover. As questions mount about her inauspicious arrival, Luke wakes up and provides no answers, because she can't remember.
When the Feds drop in to take Special Agent Luke back home, Wolf can't shake the feeling more danger is at play than they're letting on. In this action-packed new installment of the David Wolf mystery-thriller series, Wolf must choose between two loyalties, risking his new life at home to travel to the Pacific Northwest. Among biblical rains and ruthless gangs, can Wolf find the truth? Or will all he holds dear drown in deception?

#11 David Wolf
The David Wolf series needs to be read in order, in my opinion. That way you get the evolution of each character and the backgrounds. I think this one was one of the best but maybe it's because I like the characters so much and each one is better because of that. I still think Carson's female main characters tend to be a little too perfect and head turning(can't any of them be just normal looking every day women like the men in the series?) but it isn't as annoying as the series goes on. I can't wait to read number 12!
Carson, you glorious bastard, you'd better be writing!
Every book has gotten better...
Each draws you in, feels totally real, and leaves you wanting more.
And in the case of Rain, it leaves me desperate for book 12.
Im serious, Jeff... its midnight, i have to be up in 5 hours, and mmm ow i won't be able to sleep.
Because someone has to realize you are never... EVER more safe than when you have Wolf in your corner.
Maybe book 12 will prove that.
Buy yhis great tale !
I always enjoy David Wolfe !
Each tale is so different, but NEVER boring.
I was not disappointed this time.
I was taken on a roller coaster of events and surprises. This is not a book that enables predictions of each scenario or even the conclusion.
I am no good at sharing the storyline, so I will just say thanks again to Jeff Carson for such a delightful tale. I anxiously await the next episode.
Tired
I have just completed this latest installment of the Wolf series, having read the previous 10 in order. In general, I have enjoyed the plots and characters. However, this was not one of Mr. Carson's best efforts. It seemed almost frantic, and frankly the action strained credulity in places, especially near the end of the book. Then there is the problem that the series is becoming formulaic. In every installment (save the first) someone close to Wolf is put in harm's way and David comes to the rescue, meanwhile having political, jurisdictional and romantic problems. Perhaps it's time to slow down and put a bit more effort into plot development.
Here Is Another Exciting David Wolf Adventure
Jeff Carson has produced another winner.
