    Publisher's Summary:
Mysterious abductions. A shadowy government conspiracy. A deadly new threat. And love in a time of war....
Olivia, a former Marine turned investigative journalist, had thought her time serving in a combat zone had exposed her to the worst horrors imaginable. But when her younger sister Emily goes missing, she learns very quickly how wrong she was. Emily's trail leads Olivia to the Pacific Northwest, to a town called Black Salmon Falls, where she finds herself mixed up with a human trafficking ring, a dark military unit, and a world she never even knew existed.
Luca is the heir to the throne of the Langayan Clan, closest ally of the region's dominant clan, the Q'lapa, and the best friend of the Q'lapa Chief, Asher. When bears in the area begin to vanish without a trace, Asher dispatches Luca to look into it. What Luca finds is not what he expected and he uncovers a threat - the biggest threat the werebear clans in the Pacific Northwest have ever faced.
As Luca and Olivia race against time to find her sister, the forces arrayed against them mobilize for war, seeking to execute a plan that will take the Clans off the board - forever. As they discover and explore the spark that exists between them, they find themselves in the fight of their lives - a fight that may have fatal consequences for the combatants.
Saved by a Bear features a curvy redhead who is full of fire, sass, and sarcasm and a big, strapping werebear who is lethal, but has a heart of gold.

    Memorable, Endearing, and Heartfelt
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this audio book to a friend because I loved the storyline. The romance was not front and center and that made the plot stronger and the romance even sweeter. Nothing was forced but allowed to develop naturally. It was beautiful, and I loved the intriguing characters that pulled you farther and farther into the story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Saved by a Bear?
I loved the epilogue where Olivia and Luca let their hearts do all the talking while they opened themselves to each other completely not knowing the future and yet confident in how much the other meant to them. They no longer needed to fear but to feel loved and cherished and wanted forever.
What about David Quimbys performance did you like?
David Quimby made me love these characters and showed me how amazing they are. He really highlighted their strengths and admire how they worked on their weaknesses. This was a fun and compelling media for this book, and I enjoyed it very much.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Luca opened his heart to Olivia even after she shot him with a traq, tied him up, and then put a silver collar on him. He saw in her a scared woman who needed to know that she had someone that she could count it no matter what. He put his own pride aside and stepped up for her.
    Any additional comments?
This is a wonderful story with fabulous characters, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
    great book.
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book! the writing, plot and narration were great.

A psychiatric emergency team member on a night shift in LA - not a job I'd wish on anyone but my worst enemy - but somehow it works for me. I try not to think too much about what that says about me, and to do the job with heart and brains. This book is made up of episodes...various night shifts over the years. They tell a story of the true meaning of "sanity" in the universe, and the true nature of life in the wasteland they call "the center of the world". The comical mingles with the tragic. Like the man said, the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Another insanely entertaining hit for Jonathan..
This book is told in the same style that's made Jonathan's other book's such a success. I really enjoy the humorous way in which Jonathan writes & narrates his stories. You will never get the uptight boring psychiatrists mumbo jumbo with this guy. His unconventional methods of dealing with crazy situations is hilarious. The blunt way he conveys his stories will have your gut aching from laughter. My husband (who is a police detective) says this approach is what keeps metal health and public safety perfessionals sanity intact. In this memoir we get a voyeuristic look inside the phych ward at a Los Angeles hospital. Jonathan takes us on a journey through the early days of his interesting career working with the mentally disturbed. If this were a T.V show.. Jonathan would be his own unique version of Robin Leach and it would be called lifestyles of the mentally insane .
If you've ever wondered what your tight liped, straight faced shrink is writing in his clipboard? but, not telling you.. It's probably something like this.. What contest in hell did I loose to get a bat shit crazy patient like you? Note to self.. I'm going to need a vodka IV to stay in this profession lol.
On a serious note it does take a special type of person to do a sometimes dangerous job like this. I wouldn't want to walk even a half a mile in those shoes. I'd rather be the listener LMAO on the couch about it. Kudos to the people like Jonathan who have the patience for it. I Voluntarily listened to this book in exchange for my honest review. I can't recommend Jonathan Jaye's book's enough. Always more than 5 star listens on a day when you really need a good mood lifter. I also recommend buying How to tell if your friend is a sociopath: and How to tell if your neighbor is a borderline: If I've persuaded you to jump on Jonathan's crazy train be prepared for one helluva entertainingly funny ride.
    Crazy funny!!!
What did you love best about Mister 5150?
Great, hilarious stories told by someone who knows how to tell them! Several times, I couldn't help but bust out in laughter.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Mister 5150?
This is very hard to say. These are one episode after another and they are all the memorable.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I absolutely loved when he was talking about Uncle Bob but then again, I loved every episode. This was so good and amusing I started it over immediately and listened to it again. I never do that!
    Any additional comments?
Jonathan Jaye is a great storyteller who I could listen to all day.

    Publisher's Summary:
The Death of Her is a haunting psychological thriller from Debbie Howells, author of the best-selling Richard and Judy Book Club success The Bones of You.
A woman's body is discovered on a Cornish farm, battered and left for dead in a maize field. Airlifted to hospital, her life hanging in the balance, no one's sure who she is. Three days later she comes round, but her memory is damaged. She knows her name - Evie - but no more, until she remembers another name: Angel - her three-year-old daughter.
As the police circulate Evie's photo, someone recognizes her. Charlotte knew her years ago at school, when another child went missing: Leah Danning, who vanished whilst in Evie's care.
When the police search Evie's home, there's no sign of Angel. More disturbingly, there's no evidence that she ever lived there, forcing the police to question whether Evie's having some kind of breakdown.
But even from the darkest place she's ever known, Evie believes her daughter is alive. The police remain unconvinced - unaware that on the fringes of Evie's life, there's someone else. Someone hidden, watching her every move, with their own agenda and their own twisted version of reality.
    Members Reviews:
    I like it
I really didnât know who to believe in this story. Is it possible to make up a whole life with a child that doesnât exists? I wanted to believe Jen/Evie but there isnât anything backing up what she is telling the police about her child Angel. And that there once was a child, the same age as Angel, disappearing under her watch, plus her miscarriage, did not help her being sett as trustworthy. Thank god for Charlotte and Jack. Charlotte, an old acquaintance from school and Jack a policeman, are the only once giving the story Evie tells a second thought. I liked that Casey, big sister of Leah, the child gone missing, tells her story in her own words. Itâs hard to read about a child, feeling not cared for or loved. And itâs quite clear that Casey is not right mentally. Maybe itâs because she feels nothing than being rejected from everyone in her life or if she is just plain evil, nobody knows. But how do these two missing child cases come together? And what about Casey? She killed herself one year ago. It was a mystery and I really enjoyed finding out what happened to Angel, Evie and Leah. Highly recommended. I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan!
    Tense and atmospherically beautiful
This was my first book by Debbie Howell and I really enjoyed it. Evie was beaten and left for dead in a cornfield in Cornwall. When she wakes up in hospital she can't remember anything except her name and that she has a young daughter called Angel. But as the police investigate, they're not sure Angel actually exists.
A tense, atmospherically beautiful thriller, the story is primarily told from Charlotte's POV, a friend of Evie's from school who is trying to help her recover. The story is enjoyable, taut and twisty, as the police try to find Angel, and find out who hurt Evie and why. All the while, someone is watching Evie, someone with their own twisted version of events.

    Retribution.
It was good to visit again with one of Kay Hoopers earlier romantic, mystery and suspense novel.
The story unfolded easily and was captivating from start to finish. I was so caught up with it all, I could not even break to sleep.
It had just the right mixture of mystery, suspense, a touch of the paranormal all cushioned with a bit of romance to entice the reader/ listener all the way through.
The narrator did a very good job conveying the personality of each character and their place in the story.
A very fun and enjoyable listen.

"A page-turning whodunit." (Ruth Ware, best-selling author of The Woman in Cabin 10)
    Members Reviews:
Spoilers inside. I love Mary Kubica, but...
I feel terrible giving this book 2 stars- I love Mary Kubica and she's one of my favorite writers. I've read all of her books. But this was awful. Everything was too over-described, this wasn't even purple prose it bordered on violet/black to the point that some paragraphs were unreadable. Almost everything in Clara's point of view was repeated ten times at least. ALL of the suspense fell flat. I mean.... (spoilers ahead...) why did Maisie pee and scream every time she saw a black chevy?! What happened to Izzy? Why did one neighbor on the road where the accident happened say she saw a chevy (the gold bow) when the video showed no other cars on the road? Why did her father hate nick so much?
Clara herself was a disaster and beyond unlikeable. She was borderline nuts and a bad parent (leaving her NEWBORN in a hot car?! More than once! Can't make this up). Nick to me was slightly more readable, I liked seeing how he was going to get out of his current mess, but at the end, he still left his family with nothing- no money, no life insurance, etc. Horrible.
The Kat thing... well, laughable. Someone Nick dated at 18, in high school, when they were KIDS married someone else, had a kid and moved 2000 miles away. Then she shows up out of the blue, tries to get him to father her kid (pure manipulation if you ask me) then cries to his widow over and over about how much she LOVE LOVE LOVED him after seeing him 3x for 5 minutes each after a dozen years.
Connor. Yeah right. The gorgeous best friend, total player, leaps on Clara a week after the accident. Because baby weight is irresistible. She hadn't given birth 2 weeks prior. And why was he such a douche? Your best friend has money trouble and laid you off. Try being supportive and not a jerk for no reason.
All in all, too many red herrings that didn't pan out (Theo beat the crap out of nick in front of maisie and what?!? She never mentions it? Just "bad man" about the accident which had nothing to do with the accident?). I can't find it in my heart to give Mary Kubica one star so she gets 2
    Not quite 5
Enjoyed this book as I read it in one sitting. There are several times where it seems the author was just rattling on about things that were very unimportant & I did skip over half the page in order to get back on track. Also seems to be an obsession with sweat in this book that I donât quite understand.

She has it all. How far would she go to keep it?
A breathtakingly tense thriller from the author of The Wrong Girl, about one woman's determination to defend what's hers - and how quickly a straightforward plan can spiral out of control.
Perfect for fans of Katerina Diamond's The Secret and Fiona Barton's The Widow.
Shortly after Christmas, a message arrives at Sophie's house, scrawled across her own round robin newsletter: 'He's going to leave you. Let's see how smug you are then, you stupid bitch.'

But when a simple plan to identify and confront the other woman goes drastically and violently wrong, Sophie must go to extreme lengths to keep her life and her family together - while never letting on about her devastating secret.
    Critic Reviews:
"Thoughtful, scary and true, this is reminiscent of Barbara Vine at her best." (Mail on Sunday on The Wrong Girl)
    Members Reviews:
Wordy tale of superficial, rich folk!
This is the story a family from the shooting set who send their children to schools costing 40,000 a year. None of the characters are at all sympathetic. The only one I warmed to was lovely Dexter, a long suffering Labrador. It is described by the publisher as 'a breathtakingly tense thriller'. It isn't. Essentially (avoiding spoilers) a crime is committed because the wife is afraid of losing her creature comforts and money if her husband leaves her for his bit on the side. It's written in the style of an old fashioned thriller with lots of farce. Not for me at all. I will be returning it.
    A good yarn!
The publisher's description of the book as a breathtakingly tense thriller I think, is inaccurate, as others reviewing it have already said. Also, it is not comparable to the superb The Widow, so if you expect something like that, you will be disappointed. However, it really is a ripping good yarn, with farcical overtones & it certainly made me smile!
    The Worst Story Ever
I had to listen until the end, but I fast forwarded the majority. It was ludicrous. All the characters were utterly hate able. Even the kids were loathsome. The actual actual worst. Save yourselves the bother.
    Utter rubbish!
Boring! Nothing to it.. don't waste your time .
Utter rubbish.. I returned the book. Bridget
    Far fetched and irritating
I found this irritating and totally implausible from the word go. No depth to the characters and a farcical plot.

    Members Reviews:
    Unusual storyline and clever plot
What made the experience of listening to Yesterday the most enjoyable?
Really it was the unusual story that made it enjoyable. I have not read anything quiet like it so it made a change from the usual psychological plots I have enjoyed. However I did feel that it could have gone a lot further with the whole concept of the loss of memory. I could not really understand the point of the Hans character and his own memory issues in relation to the plot as a whole and his relation to Sophia was never really resolved. So a good story but some how it fell short of it's potential.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Sophia, I loved the ironic way she was portrayed by Indira Varma. She was clever and witty and I enjoyed her chapters the best.
What three words best describe Indira Varma and Rory Kinnear s voice?
Indira's voice was engaging, clever and addictive.Rory's voice was perhaps the most irritating I have ever heard in an audio book, specifically the voice he gave to Hans, truly dreadful.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were not really any moments that moved me but a few that made me go Ahhh interesting.
    Any additional comments?
Overall I enjoyed this book apart from the sections that Hans narrated. Generally though I thought it could have been so much better and the characters developed far more. The twist at the end was clever and I had not anticipated this but the trigger behind it was weak. There were also large chunks of the plot backstory that were never explored or explained and at the end the reader was just left with loose ends.
    Absolutely brilliant
Set in a surreal version of the world in 2015 divided into mono and duo human beings monos can only remember 1 day and duos two days and all heavily rely on iDiaries to remember their past. A duo writer and aspiring politician and his mono house wife are confronted with the sins of their past triggered by the discovery of a dead body. In the course of the story is becomes clear that everybody has their secrets and that nothing is black and white. While in hindsight many things become clear, nothing is really predictable.
A brilliant story performed by two of the finest actors Indira Varma and Rory Kinnear. While a shared narration not always works, on this occasion it is a brilliant way of allowing the listener to dive into this surreal world.
Best audiobook for a very long time!
    Unbelievably good.
I had been waiting for this to come out having read all the pre-pub hype.
Was not disappointed, it is everything it claims to be.

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The House by Simon Lelic, read by Adam Newington and Gemma Whelan.
The perfect couple. The perfect house. The perfect crime.
The heart-stopping thriller about a husband and wife who are hiding something from each other, and from you.... This audiobook won't let you go until you've found out the truth. Perfect for fans of Erin Kelly, Gillian Flynn and Fiona Barton.
    Whose story do you believe?
Londoners Jack and Syd moved into the house a year ago. It seemed like their dream home: tons of space, the perfect location, and a friendly owner who wanted a young couple to have it.
So when they made a grisly discovery in the attic, Jack and Syd chose to ignore it. That was a mistake.
Because someone has just been murdered outside their back door. And now the police are watching them.
    This story is their chance....
    To prove they're innocent.
Or to get away with murder.
    Members Reviews:
    Suspenseful family drama
The House is about love, life and family secrets. It's also about friendship, trust, lies, and abuse.
Syd and Jack, two apparently normal young Londoners who narrate their view of events from alternating points of view, weren't very likeable at first, which might put some readers off, but they grow into intricate and fascinating characters, which are well worth getting to know.
The plot is gradually and cleverly developed until the final, shocking twist.
Plenty of moral dilemas are brought up and although the violence isn't graphic, it is unnerving, and the ending isn't a perfect or typical one, yet I'd describe it as hopeful.
The setting in south London was a plus for me and the way the mystery behind and within the house is disclosed was well contrived.
It was a pleasure to read. The writing style is fast paced and the first person pov allows the reader to become more involved in the narrative and invested in the characters.
Especially for lovers of intense and disturbing psychological thrillers.
I listened to the audio version and enjoyed having two different narrators.
Slightly too long and a little overhyped
I actually don't know what to make it this. It drags on for far too long and could have been shortened by a good few chapters. I understand it's to create more suspense for the final reveal which wasn't that much of a mystery in the end. I expected it to have more of a horror feel, which it doesn't at all but that's the initial premise. The level of abuse is gratuitous at points and truly cringe worthy. I just don't think it was worth any hype, although it's an interesting tale nevertheless.
    Boring
I don't like to give bad reviews, as I am always respectful of the fact that someone has actually managed to sit down, write and publish a book, but this was truly dull, slow and predictable writing, and stretched the powers of ones imagination to believe in the whole premise. Bought it on the strength of the reviews. Mistake.
    Great read
really enjoyed this book...loved the storyline would def recommend...wad kind of boom u keep reading as u don't know what will happen next

This is the unstated question that colors the rich beginning of a book that invites the reader to come home to Donn's Hill as well. Pull up a chair, put on some Chai tea, and grab a plate of lemon squares. But don't get TOO comfortable. This home has a history, and you're about to get a full serving of it.
Enter Mac's world--at twenty-seven years old, she's lost both of her parents and finally ditched that duplicitous boyfriend. She's completely adrift, and finds her focus by returning to the vacation home she remembers so fondly from childhood. Listeners get a complete tour of the place, and we come to love the people in it: the ghost hunting apartment neighbor Kit, Gabrielle the medium, Yuri the show runner, even the unaccountably and perpetually cantankerous deputy-mayor who's got it in for Mac from the start, for no reason at all. Or ... is there a reason after all?
Because there's a reason for EVERYTHING at Donn's Hill, and a complete story-unto-itself for every character. The listener may be lulled into a false sense of comfortably wandering security early in this book, but really, you're kind of being set up, here. Author Caryn Larrinaga knows exactly what she's doing from the start, and you don't want to miss any of the details.
Ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists, and murder--take THAT with your lemon squares, Listener. This book has a real tendency to lure you in and then unexpectedly scare the stuffing out of you, so without spoilers, fair warning.
But half of the dark and comfortably-scented magic of this whole experience is the performance of the young but veteran voice actor Jessica McEvoy. In this particular medium (see what I did there?), there's absolutely no one better. She has an uncanny knack for reading the story exactly as you might hear it in your head, whether the part in question being read is a narrator of her own generation and gender, a middle-aged Russian, a Spanish gypsy psychic, or a ... strangely intuitive cat. Yes. Cat. She plays a cat. And before you tune out, listen to me: she pulls it off. Seriously.
More importantly, Jessica McEvoy has a natural empathy with the full emotional range of the human condition, and she brings reality to situations that are beyond the scope of most people's experiences.
