Gabriel Braven knows his destiny, but is he willing to face it?
Gabriel has only one day left on land before moving to the wondrous Mer city to live forever with his true love, Mer Prince Casillus Nerion. Twisted by exposure to the magical statute of the dread creature Cthulhu, Johnson intends to start a war with the Mers. He wants Gabriel to use his power as a Caller to bring Cthulhu itself to land, something that Gabriel has sworn never to do. If he does, everyone on the East Coast will die.

it is worth it .i want more it is so hard to say good bye to this story i hope that there is more to this lovely love story in the future i so what more it was my favorite
so far the series is in chanting
    need more of the story
when you read the book in the back it tells you that there's a short story to finish off this story of when he actually goes down under the seat yet we can't get to it it needs to be put on to this site so that people can finish the story otherwise it's incomplete. can't leave off a story and not finish it especially if there is more to come
Good Story with Some Major Annoyances
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It's hard to say. I would recommend it to someone who perhaps isn't as critical of the English language. For someone with a background in literature or writing of any sort probably not.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    1. Not have used clinical terminology during the sex scenes. And not used such juvenile words. Of course, this is personal opinion, but I found the use of certain words during scenes of intimacy and sex to be very jarring, or down right anger inducing. I did not find that the scenes flowed well because I kept getting angry at the language used. And, let's be honest, there are so many terms and words for male anatomy in this day and age, there's little excuse to be using words that sound more like they came out of a text book than a romance novel. In fact, I got so mad at one passage I actually typed it out, rewrote it, and sent both to a friend who was listening to me rant at length. I am not sure if it was as bad in books 1-3, as I only remember getting into rage fits starting with book 4 and a lot in book 5.
    2. I would use more varied "phrases" to refer to people. Namely, Johnson Tims. I swear, I have never been so vehemently _pissed off_ at an author for using the same term again, and again, and again, AND AGAIN, ad nauseum. The worst culprit of this is "the ex-military man". Which was used, so much, in such short order than I had to pause the audio novel to scream about it I was so fed up with the same damn term.

    Can't wait for more.
Love this series I've read all three book twice before the audio versions came out. So happy!
    The narrators voice was awful.
I feel like if I read the book rather than listened, it would be better. I couldn't get past the narrators voice and the way she would say things.
    Rolling my eyes!!!!
Ok, 1st this has potential but I just can't get over Rachel. She is supposed to be this strong independent person but honestly comes across as a self centered, hotheaded brat who is all "gung ho" about getting in trouble but almost wets her pants every time she gets caught. She doesn't think, just jumps ahead without thinking. How is it that most "strong independent" women in some books are just written as complete idiots who sound smart but act dumb. I mean obvious dumb. Not even a subtle.
Logan. Ok, for whatever reason people are writing about him like he is so mean. I don't think he is mean enough. He is her protector and she does everything to try to get him and her killed. He only thinks about locking her up and never does...he doesn't call her out on any of the dumb things she does and he ends up getting in serious trouble of over stupidity and independent thinking, aka "jump before leaping and forget about consequences".
This book may be ok for other people but it is not for me. I want may money back.
    Snore
    What disappointed you about Defiance?
I was honestly so bored that I didn't even continue to the second book. On top of that, the love story has absolutely no foundation.
Has Defiance turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, it's hit and miss with this genre.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was fine, just the story was a bore.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Defiance?
I would have spent a lot more time on back story.

    Was ok
This book was ok I liked the two points of views but there were a lot of things I just spaced out on. A lot of fluff and little actual story development. You can skip to the end of the book and get all you need from the story.
    the first book was better
the first book was better I found Amelia and Aiden whined a lot in this book it was interesting but I had to push myself to finish it Ira still a good book other wise and we'll thought out minus the whining I still think it was a unique book.
    Can't. stop. listening !
I am rabidly devouring this book again. It's even better in audio since I get the full effect of voices and descriptions. The narrator is great with character distinction and voice acting. I would not be surprised if this series remains one of my favorites of all time. Magical and suspenseful adventures here we come!
    Great story
Amazing,, great, loved it, so good I find myself listening over again. worth the purchase
Young love fighting for what's right.
If you could sum up Bound by Spells in three words, what would they be?
    Love, Magic, Determination
Who was your favorite character and why?
As I've enjoyed all the characters there are two (sorry not just one) that I loved in this story.
Bethany, oh Bethany. I love her sarcasm and direct path of discussions. She brings a smile to my lips, even when she's hurting from her boyfriend leaving. Bethany is the only human in the battle here. And she's more determined than any to do something about her friend being held by the mad Queen.
We meet new characters! The one that sticks out in my mind is Dylan. He's so adorable! I love his personality and his attraction to Bethany. He's extremely loyal to Aidan, Bethany, and a few others. He tries his hardest to be proper calling people Mr. and Ms. (Mr. Aidan, Ms. Bethany). He's young, you can tell but he's just a cutie-pie.
Have you listened to any of Kristin Jamess other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've listened to many of Kristin's latest works as I love her emotion and voice acting. This story is top notch with all her paranormal works (my genre of choice) I've listened to.
Kristin once again draws me into this world with her talented voice. With different voices and tones for each character I'm able to drop right into the world once again and not get lost.

    The Ballad of Rosamunde
Good continuance of the previous books. It was good to find out she was not dead .
    The Ballad of Rosemunde
Would you consider the audio edition of The Ballad of Rosamunde to be better than the print version?
Only in the fact if that if one has little imagination, actually hearing the ballads was interesting, and done well.
What did you like best about this story?
Since Rosamunde was an important character to me in the first two books, I appreciate Ms. Delacroix writing this novella to tie up the ends so to speak. It did make me feel better to find out what happened to her.
    Any additional comments?
I don't like to give away the story, but you must remember this is a novella... short, sweet and quick to the point. A very creative ending I thought and loved how it was written/narrated with much in ballad form.
    Nice story and sweet read
    Any additional comments?
The was a good story for a short story I would have liked to have seen more. It was nice to see the main characters get their HAE I enjoyed it but was lacking something. I can't put my finger on it. It might have been that I would have liked a longer story this was kind of short sweet and to the point. On stories this short there isn't to much you can say without giving the book away. Pick it up and give it a try it gives you some insight you might not have gotten. I give this a 3.5. I didn't care for it as much as I did the first one I read but it was a nice stead read.
The narrator does a great job her voice is smooth and full of emotion. There are no breaks that you can tell. She does a great job on the different character voices. I enjoyed listening to her very much. There is no background noise just a sweet accent that I thought was adorable.
The author does give you great characters that you can relate to. There is a lot of emotion that pulls at you. I say pick it up an give it a try and see what you think.
    Delightful
A short story, but it was a delight to listen to. I loved Rosamunde from the previous stories in the series and I was happy to hear she survived the collapse of the caves. Padraig is so much better for her and I am glad they got their second chance to love. A must listen, this story is magical narrated by the awesome voice of Ms. Maarleveld. Thank you!
    Charming
    Any additional comments?
Im so happy to see author Claire DelaCroix give us Rosamunde's story. After all she played a large part in the shaping of her nieces whom we met in the series. I wished she had a full-fledged story of her own because she was a very interesting character.

    Constant Danger
On the run from a mental institution and her vindictive half brother, it's safe to say that Sarah Pringle's happy life as a schoolteacher is on hold. Too bad that as far as self-defense goes, "run and hide" is the best she's got. And with the monsters that started her escape hot on her heels, that's not going to cut it for long....
    Instant Lust
That is unless Sarah has a bigger, badder, hotter monster on her side. Max Petrovsky is right at the top of the list of alpha male ass kickers. And he knows exactly what Sarah's up against. Good thing because the minute he sees her, something primal kicks in, turning everyday attraction into red-hot desire. As long as they're cooperating, why not mix some pleasure with business? Of course Max should probably tell Sarah he's a vampire himself...

    every element of a full-length story !
AudioBook Review: Stars: Overall 4 Narration 5 Story 4
Oh I think I love Max! Russian by birth, he is completely sure that his heart does not exist. That is until Dage assigns him to watch over and protect Janie. In seconds, the little girl shared a secret, asked to be his friend, and made the singularly BEST Reveal EVER. While all of the vampires in this story have eyes that glow with a metallic shine, only Max has shiny and sparkly PINK eyes. Its a wonderful juxtaposition for the big, bad, roughhewn vampire, and only adds to the little boy who wants to be loved beneath the shell.
When he has to hunt down another innocent caught in the conflict between Kurjans and the Realm, we meet Sarah. Sarah has been confined in a mental institution and drugged to keep her revelations at bay. Sarah is touch sensitive: a touch of an object gives her visions and history of that object. Her brother (a disgusting POS) has committed her, and will go to great lengths and pair with anyone to keep her under his control.
Glimpses of Max have appeared throughout the story, hes really become a favorite character, and this gives us more of his own story, full of background and insecurities from his rough childhood and his loyalty to Dage and the Realm. Sarah, as an enhanced human, is right at the center of the Kurjan to get list, and they soon find they have to go through Max to get there.
As the story line is all about fated mates, and Max, whether or not he wants it, has found his in Sarah. A kick ass, smart mouthed heroine who isnt afraid of this oversized killer. Fast paced dialogue, plenty of action and the heat that fairly sizzles the speakers, Zanetti packed every element of a full-length story into this novella without missing a trick. I would have loved more, but that is common with stories I enjoy.
Narration is again provided by Karen White and again she captures the emotional tones and distinctive elements that gives each character a unique sound that is wholly theirs. It is difficult to NOT enjoy this couple, and their rapid fire dialogue is perfectly presented, never missing a beat. Emotion, humor, sarcasm and even fear clearly present in tone and delivery: you just KNOW what the characters feel, and the narration just brings those elements to the forefront.
A wonderful installment in the series, perfect for fans of paranormal romance with a bit of oomph.
I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Audible Communications for purpose of honest review.

    AN INSPIRING HIGHLAND ROMANCE
I dont understand how someone cannot LOVE this book. For me as a PNR lover, it has it all. Evil supernatural being out to destroy the world. Check. Strong Heroes determine to save the world as well as a part of themselves they thought was lost. Check. Heroines, that manage to be strong but at the same time vulnerable. Check. A sweet, simple love story that makes the heart go, AWWWW! Check. Some steamy romance scenes that melt my headphones and left me breathless. CHECK CHECK & CHECK. And the Narrator, mmm Derek Perkins can read to me anytime.
IMO, buy the book. For that matter, buy the trilogy. It's worth every minute of your purchase. If nothing else, you have Derek Perkins voice. WOW!!
    Another great Kerrigan Byrne book!!
History, magic, humor, and erotica. I really need to stop listening to these books on the way to work.
Derek Perkins brings the story to life. I love his narration.
    I Love Kerrigan Byrne's Novels!
I'm a big fan of all things Scottish and I love the way Kerrigan Byrne brings the land and people of Scotland's past into such vividly colorful and romantic view for her readers.
Great Story About Druid King Malcom de Moray
It was a good book about the Druid King of the Picts and his battle with the 4 horsemen to stop the Apocalypse with lots of witches, Berserkers, and fighting. Quite a lot of hot sex and the narrator's accent was terrific. I could listen him talk forever. I enjoyed this story very much but I'm not sure I liked it enough to commit to the lengthy series that follows. I get the feeling there is much more of the Weird Sisters (the dark de Moray witches) trying to take over the world and fight with the Druid King of the Picts. Malcolm, Kenna, and Morgana are a magical family so I'm keeping an open mind. If you like the Druid period and lots of angst, you'll like this book. I recommend it for that reason alone and for the narrator.
This series really stood out for me. Great Story
Where does Invoked rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
The whole Druid descriptions of gifts and finding their perfect mates was interesting and very entertaining.

    too funny
This book is a romantic, comedy, mystery and paranormal.
We meet Jan and Boris in Book 2 of Kodiak Point, Jan is a Fox and helped with the escape of Tammy. Jan knows who her mate is and she is not afraid to remind him every time. But when push comes to shove and a mystery of killings and missing people unravel, Jan might finally get her way or give up completely. She is well known for her armory and skill, she can take care of herself, but she would rather do it with Boris.
Boris is a moose and doesnt want anything from anyone only to be left alone and if Jan keeps getting herself in trouble he is going to have to put her over his knee, he has had all he can take. Especially when someone tries to kill her, she belongs to him and no one touches what is his, so the moose says. Things at Kodiak Point are getting a bit rough and dangerous.
I have to say first, it took me a while to figure out if I wanted to slap myself on the forehead or laugh so hard I'll cry. I have to admit the slap stick comedy, adventure and romance was refreshing. I learned quickly not to drink any fluids when listening to this book, the unpredictability of the characters and some not so unpredictable, and the things they say, lol. Saying that, the book is hilarious and I can almost seeing it playing out as a cartoon cross between Scooby-do and Archer. So not for kids.
    wow
this was an awesome book and I loved being able to work and listen to one of my favorite Arthurs
    cute and quick
I enjoyed the story but it won't be on my repeat listen list. it is worth the credit and had a fun heroine.
    great story, terrible performance
I hate to be critical but this book should come with a warning label. I'm no performer but for someone to be paid to narrate a book, they should have skill. Every word sounded the same. The same tone volume, inflection. It was dead. Except when it came to the sex, then she tried some sexy voice that reminded me those awful 1 800 fantasy commercials. And when she did male voices, it was some weird growly grunt or just a deeper version. And literally she said "grrrr". Terrible. And it sucks because I really want to read the next ones so I'm switching to the kindle version. Thank goodness this came in the romance package or I'd ask for my money back. I can't believe they actually published this. Ruined the story completely.
    Very funny
Lived it it was funny and entertaining even my husband started to listen to it and got a laugh out of it

    Publisher's Summary:
Valerie Dearborn wants a life as light and fluffy as cotton candy, but it's more like a puffer fish: pointy, unusual, and - if not prepared exactly right - deadly. In London for graduate school, Val knows she's finally free. Her father and ex-almost-boyfriend are back in California and she's out of the Vampire hunting biz for good. Or is she? She draws the attention of Lucas, a 1600 year old Vampire, and King to his kind. He's also wicked hot.
As golden as Lucifer, and just as tempting, he makes Valerie an offer she can't refuse - help him find out if the Others (Empaths, Fey, and Werewolves) still exist or he'll stop protecting those she loves. Lucas tells her that Empaths were a Vampire's biggest weakness before going extinct hundreds of years ago.
While the Fey or a Werewolf might kill a Vampire, an Empath could enslave them, seducing or harming with emotions at will. The one detail he leaves out? Valerie is an Empath. And after 1600 years of an emotionless existence, Lucas wants Valerie like a recovering alcoholic wants a wine cooler. Can she keep those she loves alive, stop Lucas from munching on her, survive a fanged revolution, and still find a way to have that boring, normal life she's always wanted? Probably not, but boy is she gonna try!

Many books seem to have the same story line
What did you like best about Love Is Darkness? What did you like least?
It was very predictable. The characters were okay and some likable or interesting. The story was lacking humor, wit, action and the love story was weak and uninteresting. The book did not divert my attention from chores or anything.
Would you be willing to try another book from Caroline Hanson? Why or why not?
Probably not. The story was very one dimensional. I think she follows a formula as many do but I prefer a Diane Duvall or Jeanine Frost book with action great characters and a world that envelops you in.
What aspect of Emily Woo Zellers performance would you have changed?
She was good. Her male voices could be improved but she was okay.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
    No.
    Any additional comments?
(Many people will like this!!!!) I am spoiled by the authors I mentioned. It took me many tries to finish this book over years. I was determined to finish some books or if I could not then to write a review.
    Interesting new series
This is a very interesting and intriguing new series I'm not altogether sure how I feel about it, it was kind of teasing it would get you all hyped up but then it like left you wanting. I mean the tension between the father and the daughter was just a little too much and they kept going from past to present a little too much I had to rewind a little bit so maybe that's just me maybe I just got confused a bit. I am going to get the second book though because though it had a little bit of a slow start and it jumped from past to present a lot the dynamic relationship between Val Lucas and Jack left me wanting to know what's going to happen next
    Not a strong female lead.
This first novel in the series set the stage for the author's continuance of story. I personally enjoyed much of the story line. However, I found that the time hops from chapter to chapter seemed a bit strange. Our main character Val isn't my favorite character.

    Futuristic Dragonshifting Romance
Mede of the Draig knows three things for a fact: As the only female dragonshifter of her people, she is special. She can kick the backside of any man. And she absolutely doesn't want to marry.
Mede has spent a lifetime trying to prove she's as strong as any male warrior. Unfortunately, being the special, rare creature she is, she's been claimed as the future bride to nearly three dozen Draig - each one confident that when they come for her hand in marriage, fate will choose them. When the men aren't bragging about how they're going to marry her, they're acting like she's a delicate rare flower in need of their protection.
But Mede is far from a shrinking solarflower.
Prince Llyr of the Draig knows four things for a fact: He is the future king of the dragonshifters. He must act honorably in all ways. He absolutely, positively is meant to marry Lady Mede. And she is dead set against marriage.
Llyr's fate rests in the hands of a woman determined not to have any man. With a new threat emerging amongst their catshifting neighbors, a threat whose eyes are focused firmly on Mede, time may be running out. It is up to him to convince her to be his dragon queen.
    A Prequel Story
    About Book 9:
Before four princes and four noblemen found their brides, before the death of the Var King Attor and the threat of the Tyoe miners, there was a time of peace on the planet of Quirlixen. It was not a strong peace, but it had lasted for quite some time between the catshifting Var kingdom and their northern neighbors the dragonshifting Draig. It lasted because both sides had very little to do with each other. It is here the dragons found their queen.

    Great book
In this prequel we get to find out how king Llyr and queen Mede met and fell in love. As well as the reason behind the war between the Draig and the Var. Mede is feisty, brave, strong, stubborn and the only living female dragon. I think she might be my favorite female so far. I really liked Mede and Llyr together. I enjoyed this book. I loved the humor and the romance. The book is very well written and a must read for all paranormal readers.
I highly recommend this series. It's a really good read.

    Any additional comments?
I love this series and Michelle Pillow's books. This audible was funny and I enjoyed it.
If you've read or listened to any of the other books, this puts a few things in perspective ;)
I really liked Mede and Llyr together. I felt that their romance wasn't rushed and that love happened not because of sex, but because they got to know one another. It was interesting to learn a bit about Attor and how this book was influencing to the others. I enjoyed the other characters, and the roles they played.
I enjoyed listening to Mason Lloyd. I always enjoy listening to him and his lulling voice. I find his voice choices for each character entertaining, although different than what I hear, I think he does a great job
