Love the new characters

The series just gets better. The latest characters are fun and it's great to see how they interact with the originals. I recommend readers who are new to this series begin with the first book in order to "get to know" the cast as they enter the storyline.

Very Disapointed

Thought the story sounded good but should have listened to the sample. The narrator was bland, sounded like he was in a tunnel and couldn't draw me in at all. I couldn't get past chapter one due to how he read and the tunnel sound. I highly do not recommend.

Long & draw out!

Quite disappointing... I kept reading, waiting for the story to get better, it didn't! Some of the sex scenes were great but that was it. The narration was appalling & the whole story felt as though it was being read to a child. Some bits were confusing & some were left out, not to mention that last bit. Wth?

not good

What disappointed you about Ever After Series?

To many missing parts.

What was most disappointing about A. C. Jamess story?

Missing big parts in the story but kept refering to the missing pieces

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Same tone for every part of the store. You could not tell we they were thinking or just taking.

Great Story Bad Reading

The story is great but I couldn't finish it because the reading isl terrible. Redo the reading.

I couldn't do it.

This is totally disappointing It's certainly not what I expected Given the description the narration is completely awful it puts me in mind of an English class filmstrip just from the hour or so I've listened the dialogue is extremely lacking as well I can't tell if it would be better with a different narration or not I personally find it a complete waste of time and I have never been more glad for the satisfaction guarantee function :-)

Accent...

The narrators Scottish accent was horrible! she would go in and out from Scottish to Russian is what it sounded like. The book and storyline is good. just didn't like the accent. It would throw me off.

Horrible Narrator!

This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think I might have liked the story but I could not get past the sound of the narrator

Would you recommend Reunited to your friends? Why or why not?

to possibly read but not listen to due to the narrator

How could the performance have been better?

A different narrator! The way she tried to change the characters voices was horrible! Just listening to any of the story at all was extremely hard.

You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I read the first book of the series narrated by the same person and I had a very hard time getting past the narrator's voice but the story was good, I really did not realize this was the same narrator or I never would have purchased it.

Any additional comments?

I would love to read the book as I think it was probably a good story, However, due to an eye sight problem I can no longer read, that is why I do the audible. I have wrote the narrators name on a "do NOT buy" list. I have a list of narrators that I will buy nearly everything they have done and a list of narrators never to listen to again

great book

Format: Unabridged

Length: 5 hrs and 13 mins

Language: English

Release date: 01-13-15

Publisher: Mandy M. Roth

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 207 votes

Genres: Romance, Fantasy

Publisher's Summary:

Dr. James Hagen thought he'd bid the Paranormal Security and Intelligence Agency good riddance nearly 10 years back. He'd been an operative with them for so long that carving out a new path in life had taken time, but he'd achieved it. He'd made it his mission in life to help the wayward find a path again, to help those who couldn't help themselves.

All that changed when he fell into enemy hands. Now, unable to fully heal and plagued by nightmares and choppy visions of what is to come, James isn't sure if he can keep going. That is, until he meets PSI's newest person of interest: a quirky, sexy cyber-punk who totally turns his world upside down.

Laney Steele knows she's onto something. It doesn't matter that most have written her off as a conspiracy theorist and a hacktivist. She knows the government is hiding the existence of super soldiers who can shapeshift into animals. She's so sure that she puts herself on the line to find out more. But what she uncovers isn't exactly what she was hoping for, and it has a heck of a lot more to do with her than she ever thought possible.

When her new online gamer buddy turns out to be a super solider, she throws caution to the wind just for a chance to be with him. Neither one of them realize the enemy has been lurking, waiting for the perfect moment to strike - again.

This book is intended for adults only.

WOW WOW WOW

The characters in this series are fantastic and funny. I just love Aiden. This story is about James, who had been a prisoner of the Corporation and finally was rescued. He is now back working for the opps. He has been having dreams about a female with purple steak in her hair. He has been communicating via internet with a woman names Laney, They decide to meet up. She believes the supernatural exist. James goes to meet her and the doctor that had tortured him has sent minions to kill her because he suspects she is his mate. He is trying to get James back. They have to fight and try to stay alive until back up comes.

James finally realized Laney is his mate.

This was a pretty story. My only negative thing about the books in this series is that they are short. They are good but i wish they were longer, more fight scenes with the enemy, more time for the heroine to get used to the idea of being the heroes mate. I would just love to see these audio books go from 4 or 5 hours to may 8 or 9. I believe this series has lots of potential. I more of it.

Scratching My Paranormal Itch!

Would you consider the audio edition of Act of Surrender to be better than the print version?

Yes! Mason Lloyd really brings the story to life.

What about Mason Lloyds performance did you like?

I love everything about Mr. Lloyd's performance. He does an excellent job on the characters, and has a great voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, this story was the perfect length for listening too in one sitting, and the plot, suspense, and characters really held my attetion.

Any additional comments?

This is a great PNR filled with action, suspense, chemistry, and great characters, and perfect for in between my more dark and serious listens.

What a bedtime story.

Would you listen to Act of Surrender again? Why?

Absolutely.

Title: The Reluctant Lord

Subtitle: Dragon Lords, Book 7

Author: Michelle M. Pillow

Narrator: Rebecca Cook

Format: Unabridged

Length: 6 hrs and 45 mins

Language: English

Release date: 12-03-14

Publisher: The Raven Books

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 134 votes

Genres: Romance, Fantasy

Publisher's Summary:

Polished, dignified and reserved in all things. That is a true nobleman.

Lady Clara of the Redding, a living statue of perfection, has been raised a true Redde noblewoman. She has been taught to never show emotion, to never raise her voice, to touch as little as possible, and to never act wildly or rashly. According to her peoples custom, the new generation cannot begin until the current one is settled. She is the last of her siblings without a husband and her pregnant sisters will remain in stasis until shes married.

After Clara denies all suitable males on her home world, her parents are left with one choice - send her to a primitive planet where several noblemen await marriage. The men hardly appear picky about their choices, a perfect arrangement for a reluctant bride.

An uninhibited woman to match his untamed soul. That would be his ideal wife.

Lord Vladan, Ealdorman Honorary of the Draig is not like his noble brothers. Adopted into their family after a mining accident killed his parents, he is every bit as titled as his new brothers, and every bit as welcome into the fold. Yet he cant help but feel the pull of his commoner past. He loves his family, and will always do as duty demands, but a part of him still yearns to shift into dragon form and run free in the wild. It is a side he indulges every chance he gets. This is how he knows his bride will be the most wild of creatures, for he wants passion, not perfection. Surely the gods are mistaken when they bind him to the most refined, reserved, frustratingly perfect creature in the universe.

Warning: This audiobook contains an alpha male reluctant to take his place as a nobleman preferring to run free in the forest and a woman unwilling to marry anything but a cultured and refined gentleman. Oh, and she doesn't like to get dirty. Well, until now. Contains adult content.

Awesome book and series

The Reluctant Lord is book 7 of Dragon Lords series by Michelle M. Pillow. It tells the love story of Clara and Vlad.

Lady Clara of Redding is a noblewoman who has been taught never to show emotion, to raise her voice or in any way to act undignified and, most importantly to touch or allow herself to be touch as little as possible. Clara has mental abilities that make her able to communicate with animals, heal others and to destroy.

Lord Vladan, Ealdorman Honorary of the Draig is the adopted son in the Draig household. He has finally come of age that will allow him to attend his first Breeding Festival. While Clara is repressed Vlad is the opposite of her in every way. He is wild, reckless, always ready to laugh and free spirited.

I love the stories and characters that Ms. Pillow comes up with. Her stories are always so full of passion, love, action, intrigue, excitement, adventure, villains to concurre, sexy heroes and feisty stubborn females. Oh and humor, lots of humor. My favorite part of the story was when they all met Clara. She was wearing a cone-shaped wig, skin painted white and a costume that would fit in the 1800's. No one knew what to make of her and thought that she might have a cone shaped head because of the height of the wig. That still makes me laugh thinking about it. Loved it.

I highly recommend this series!!!

All Hail the King.

Another successful book by Tina Folsom. We finally get to figure out who Cain is and it took a twist I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed the "fake it until you make it" method that Cain took until he regained his memory. Although the mystery part wasn't all that mysterious, because you already can figure out who the bad guy is, the romance was off the chart. As usual in this series we get to see a lot of the old cast in this book. My favorites in this series still are Gabriel's Mate, Zane's Redemption and Thomas's Choice. Narrator does a great job as usual. Other vampire authors I recommend are Kresley Cole, Thea Harrison, Molly Harper, Charlaine Harris, and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Tina Folsom has kept me enthralled once again!!!!

loved it!!!! I'm off to start book 10!!!! couldn't put it down!!!! So exciting!!!! thanks Tina

simply fantastic!

amazing story, amazing reader, amazing book!!! I highly recommend this book. Tina Folsom never disappoints!

Another good Scanguards story

I think I've read or listened to all but a couple of the Scanguards stories. As usual, once I started, I couldn't stop listening to this one. While I wanted to shake Cain a few times and say 'use your brain' he came through in the end. Hope we eventually see a book devoted to Haven's brother. You can't help but love him.

A VERY ENJOYABLE FANTASY WORLD TO DWELL A WHILE IN

This is book 3 in GS's Atlantis series where, in the mythical realm beneath the sea, there are three Kingdoms..... Dragons, Vampires and Nymphs and it's where a whole host of other weird and wonderful creatures live. There are alliances, hatred, friendships, wars, portals and lovers but overseeing it all is the mighty vengeful Poseidon. They could each be stand alone listens.

The handsome Nymphs need sex all the time to keep their strength up but the Dragons have stolen their females so they are forced to steal some Human women and that's when the trouble starts for Valerian, King of the Nymphs when he locks eyes with his mate.... Shaye.

It's fun, fantastical and there's a lot of bantering, humor and angst between the H/H when Shaye doesn't want to instantly drop her panties and stay with the super sexy and gorgeous King so, for the first time, Valerian really has to work hard for it. There's also sub plots involving the Dragons, Vampires and Poseidon and a secondary romance. It's filled with great characters and GS's imagination at world-building is awesome and the Narrator did a good job coping with all the many different voices.

Worth a credit? This is a entertaining, light and enjoyable fantasy romance with a couple of sex scenes between two very likeable main characters. I've listened to the whole series now and have loved every one so, YES, a very creditworthy addition to the series.

Loved it

Gena Showalter has always been one of my favorite authors, her stories are always amazing

I was delighted and laughed a lot

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator was exceptional! Although the heroine was frustrating throughout most of the story, who could not fall immediately for Valerian. I laughed a lot. It was hard putting this one down.

Nymph King

Great Book definitely , kept me guessing from the very beginning to the end. Story line was extremely exciting.

Ugh, couldn't finish.

I read this book many moons ago and liked it then and have always love GS. However as I'm listening, I thought to myself, "why?" Why did I subject myself to a storyline that is so dull witted. Yes, Nymphs are sexual characters, but man, it's portrayed in every. single. paragraph! After the first few hours, I could give it anymore. The characters were annoying. The heroine was a typical, "I hate all man, therefore I shall hate you too." The hero, "I am man, hear me roar!"

The narration for the female voice is fine, but when it comes to the male voices it is sorely lacking. Imaging you trying to do a deep male voice, yup, that's what it's sounds like.

Needless to say, I had to return it.

Members Reviews:

Mostly introduction

What disappointed you about House Immortal?

The book was mostly set-up, introducing the characters and the world. Not enough happened in this book, I think.

What could Devon Monk have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have more actually happening in this book and give more of a conclusion rather than a direct lead-in to the second book.

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrator. Something about this narrator just didn't do anything for me. She didn't have enough differentiation between the characters, in my opinion, and overall I just found her unpleasant to listen to.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from House Immortal?

There's no one scene that stands out, but the whole book just felt like there wasn't enough forward movement, either in terms of plot or character development. Even when something that should be dramatic happens, like a betrayal, it's skimmed right over.

Any additional comments?

This book, most of the time, seemed like a character moving around doing stuff, without anything very interesting happening. Kind of weird. I kept waiting for stuff to happen, and when stuff did start happening, there wasn't enough time left in the book to really give any of the events or developments the attention they deserved. I'm having a hard time describing it. It's like she spent lots of time on less important stuff and hardly any time on stuff that was important.

*Note: my rating is based on GR ratings, so 2 stars mean "okay".

great story and universe

Love the characters and the performance. Initially I was concerned about the farm with"stitched" animals and a two headed man. It felt almost too bizarre. After a chapter or so I fell into Tilly's world.I like this even more than Allie Beckstrom series. looking forward into where it will go.

Excellent Start

If you could sum up House Immortal in three words, what would they be?

Promising new series.

What does Leslie Carroll bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

I think she was a great choice for the main character Matilda. She spoke the characters very well and gave life to the story. I think this book is actually better as an audio book because of the narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't want to take breaks from listening. The story contained enough unexpected twists and turns to keep it continually interesting.
