Lost Library audio

It is so sad and frustrating when one is presented with a good story but an unsuitable narrator. the narrator sounded like a 17 year old girl who was to be in her late 30's plus the author often describes the hero's voice as low and or deep.... the narrator never changed her voice to reflect the author's discriptions. producers of audio books need to be more professional when giving narration parts to persons who's voices do not even come close to the discriptions of age or genda of characters. narrator ruined the book for me.

I love reading this series and the audio version doesn't disappoint either. This story has mystery, romance, magic , Lycans, plucky women and hot sexy guys...what's not to like!This is the beginning of the series that still has a satisfying ending and yet leaves you wanting to know more about all the characters.Lizzie is a great heroine, not perfect, but real and so endearing and funny. John is drool worthy and trying hard to be honest with her without scaring her and letting her know how much he wants her for himself. And the other characters are just a great mix of humor, sexy ness, loyalty and friendship.The Lost Library was a good read and is an enjoyable audio book. Kelly does a great job as narrator and both sounds like and has the attitude I thought Lizzie would have.IThis is a different look at Lycans...not wrewolfs...... and magic...and one I thoroughly enjoyed.I did receive a copy of this book for an Honest review.

Exciting story, worth a listen

interesting plot weaving in magic, wolves and kidnapping, to protect some magic books. Fun read.

The story was great. I am very disappointed that books 2 and 3 are not available on Audible. I hate starting a series then finding the rest is unavailable.

Grabs you and doesn't let go!!

To start, I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I found this story to be captivating. I could not wait to hear what came next. The original take on the paranormal was intriguing. I love the wonder of a "Lost Library" and what will be discovered, not to mention the relationships developed along the way. I am eagerly searching out the next book to see how John responds to Lizzie at the end of the book. I started to say more but do not want to give it away for you. This is a MUST read/hear!!!!

Narrator's performance severely disappointing

I purchased this story in spite of the bad reviews regarding the narrator, thinking it can't possibly be all that bad. To be honest, it was worse. I stuck with listening through to the end of the story because I wanted to know the ending...even though as I listened I wanted to fast forward past the parts where the narrator chose to speak in a very, very slow, long and drawn out voice for several of the characters. I guess she didn't know how to alter her tonal frequency and had to resort to making her narration sound as if the characters didn't know how to talk or form words to make a sentence. She read each word with a very long pause between each word. No one talks that way unless perhaps they've suffered some sort of brain injury and had to search their brain to find the words needed to express themselves...of which the story line did not suggest that that had happened.

One thing for sure, I know I won't buy any other audible books or CDS where this lady is the narrator!! So other potential buyers, please take heed and believe everyone's negative review about this as as truly true.

Please save your money and just buy the BOOK to read... Listening to it will drive you crazy!!

Worst book ever!!!!

This was the worst book I have read in a very long time. I actually borrowed it for free, but bought the narration for $1.99 and I feel like I was robbed. I'm truly not sure if the book is any good because the narration was horrendous!!! Do the authors get to pick the narrator? Just terrible!!! The first few chapters of the book, which was all I could tolerate, was disjointed, predictable and just ridiculous. Blah!

For one- at what point did the Alpha ask for a bride?! I don't get the whole "mail order" thing at ALL.

NO.. absolutely not. I didn't even finish this one. It was painful to listen to her. I never could figure out WHY she was being so ridiculous about some parts and not on others.

Very tame shifter meets long lost love story.

This was a very tame story of a (anglo) shifter female looking for a change of surroundings where no one would find out she is a bear. She runs into 2 people that HAPPEN to be bear shifters also. A native female that was childhood friend a older anglo) male shifter. So, the two anglo shifters started to "date" after they had sex. She was helping HIM out with a escorting hunters when there was a plane crash. Her new lover searches for her in his bear form..OK.. story. Nothing really steamy or juicy. Very tame shifter story.

interesting short sex romp

I followed along wanting to see if the young lady was helped. But, guess people were sent to the "camp" to be impregnated with the alpha's child. Women's egg get fertilized by a pure breed's sperm. Expect this young lady, the alpha is attracted to her & decides to keep her The end. Nothing more. so... I wonder what the other young ladies being sent there will do?.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story line was good and I would of enjoyed it but unfortunately the narrator was speaking so fast. I was struggling to understand what she was saying. if it wasnt for the feeling of the whole thing being rushed! I would of given 3/4 stars

One for Nine

I have read the entire Savannah Coven Series, and, as there were nine books, rather than writing one review for each book, I will write this one review to encompass the entire series. Suza Kates definitely has a gift in her writing skills. She describes the characters and the surroundings in the book so that the reader feels like they know each character and can have a clear picture in their head that stays there throughout the series. Each book is about one witch in a coven of nine, and after reading the second book, the reader knows full well that the rest of the series will have a book for each witch in the coven. The series could not have been written any other way. To try to encompass all nine witches and their journeys would have been a monumental task at best, and probably a disaster for readers to wade through. Even though each witch faced a different trial which would lead to the ultimate destruction of the demon, the process from start to finish was the same with each one. Discover the fact that it's your turn (and realize that your particular "talent" will be tested), meet a man you're destined to fall in love with (and, since it is, after all, DESTINY, he with you), experience the chills and thrills of some sort of confrontation with the evil side of the magical world, and complete your trial to the cheers and relief of all. The difference in each book revolves around the witch's particular talent, and the what sort of confrontation with evil she will have to face. As you finish each book, you're eager to begin the next one, and, if you're like me, you will wonder what it would be like to be a good witch. Happy reading!

loved this series

I Loved this series and think it would make a good movie. Talk about a fun exciting ride! wow this was a big roller coaster. A great variety of emotions, some even intense or deeply sad. This story is based in the southern United States and is packed of multi-genre. Paranormal, Romance, Magic, Fictional History and Mystery. Each book becomes more thrilling and the author keeps you wondering "what comes next" throughout the entire series.

I purchased this box set of the first 3 stories first but before starting the second book I bought books 4-9. yes, I was hooked from the beginning.

The only thing i found distracting in the series was the increasing use of story repetition.

I have always been fascinated with Tamesine...even as a bad girl, she was super fun to listen too...I am so happy she is well and now has someone to love her...I hope they can find her missing daughter...and I hope she can now make peace with her sister and her troubled past...Tam is truly a beautiful soul and I loved learning more about her!!! On to book 8!

I really love this writers work. She keeps her audience on their toes and interested! Having access to an audio version is great for the commute to work, I love being able to listen to a great story and forget about my day.

Troubled Souls!

I really enjoy this series and I've had my favorites before this one but as soon as I realized this was Tamesine's story, well I knew I was in for a treat. Of course this story has become my favorite now. I have listened to all & audiobooks and I remember Tamesine in the other stories and how she was and acted in the past until she was taken in and began to bond with one of the Firsts baby boy. Her whole world changed and she began to be a respectful person and the vampire we all knew she could be. She's still not ready to go home and is working in a diner working as a waitress trying to find herself before going home. She meets Mark who comes is in Frank's diner to eat one night and she feels this tug or pull about him. She thinks he might be a vampire to but he's not. Somehow at night while sleeping they find each other in a dream and this makes her persistent in having to talk to him so she does. No human should ever be able to dream walk with her. She believes it's destiny that has brought the two together. But the story is only beginning because the pasts comes back to haunt Tamesin and it almost takes them all down with her.

A GOOD START BUT WILL IT ALL BE WORTH 5 CREDITS?

Inter-species relationships are forbidden by a Government who rule over the paranormals and humans alike. But this rule Is devastating for Claire because she's a Werewolf who has been whining and panting for a dreamy vampire named Irish for the past five years and he has been dreaming of her too.... also for the last five years but they could never cross the line and break the rules..... until now. Claire is meant to be mated to the mean and nasty Pack Alpha but all hell breaks out when he goes missing and the bloody evidence points to Clare having brutally killed him and so Irish steps in to protect and save her from the pack which is now led by the grieving angry brother of the missing Alpha.

But Claire is holding back secrets, secrets that's going to uncover a child kidnapping ring run by an evil and dangerous Demon which leads to a life threatening situation and not for just one of them. Irish is possessive, compassionate, intense and sexy and their mutual attraction finally leads to some needy lust filled scenes. There's twists, surprises, witty dialogue, dirty talk, sex and a suspense filled storyline which will continue. Other than riding bikes and wearing leathers there's been no reference to the 'MC biker lifestyle'.

Worth a credit? Good narration, told from dual POV's and it was enjoyable, entertaining and yes worth a credit BUT the storyline of Claire, Irish and the ongoing saga continues over a series of 5 fairly short books so I really don't know whether I will continue with this series. In my opinion, breaking a book down like this and making it into a series which will cost the eager listener 5 credits just seems a bit greedy to me..... 2 books I would of happily download, if they're less than $10 each then sure but to use 5 credits they'd all have to be something special.

Couldn't put it down!

Ms. Cassidy just keeps getting better and better! All her books are fun and romantic. Fangs of Anarchy was a a bit edgier but no less romantic or fun. I had to know how it would end. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Start at the beginning and don't stop. The Darkest London series is the best of paranormal romance. Strong women and brave men. Each book brings new characters to the front. Sexy romance mixed wonderfully with danger and a bit of humor. Unique stories and great narration. Outstanding.

Feeble adult make-believe redo

This story is more like a 2.5. I liked that the story was, essentially, about 2 sisters, Danya (the oldest) and Alana (age 18), who were 2 of 3 sisters. Felice was age 16. All of them lived with their father; their mother left years ago. And the story was also about a cursed beast-man, Everett. So the listener sees all of them change. The side characters, Beatrice, the immortal witch who cursed Everett, Everetts brother, Dante, Horatio, the butler/the timekeeper. Matilda (Mattie), the arch witch. Unfortunately, however, Danya and Alana were only ok characters, because they, irritatingly, had no sense of personal responsibility. But, alas, this is a fairy tale.

In listening to this story, I had to constantly remind myself that it was a fairy tale. The reminder was done in order to leave behind some expectations that normally accompany listening to other fictional stories & in order to try to enjoy this tale. Even then, I struggled to get into it, since I generally like more depth, realism, & continuity in the books I enjoy. For instance, Danya was poor but had expensive undergarments. And the story is supposed to occur sometime in the past, but the language didnt follow that. Still its nowhere near the worst book I have listened to, so there is that.

And I say this even though the narrator also left a bit to be desired. She was horrible as Everett, the beast. And all of the females sounded alike.

I really loved this book. It hooked me from the very beginning. I did not want it to stop. The reader did a great job of every character. I never had to worry about who was talking.

The Tarot Witches and their mates are so colorful and full of life. The stories are intriguing. I sit at the edge of my seat in each chapter waiting for the next book to bring the story to its peak and conclusion. Nail biting, hot and sexy. Ah! Look out is addictive!

What an amazingly hot and tantalizing story. SM Reine has hooked me on this story. I felt like "Caged Wolf" was lacking in detail and passion. However, "Forbidden Witches" is complete passion and heat!!!!
