Everything I Expected and More

I was previously aware of the store as I read the kindle version a while back. As soon as I saw it on Audible I had to jump on it. It did not disappoint. The narrator was perfect and brought the characters to life. This is becoming a favorite series of mine and I look forward for the next audible as it is on my short list to listen to some time this week.

This series is a unique smoothie of humour, angst, ghosts, hope & confusion ground up ruthlessly with delightful shots of exuberance & c'est la vie. For the young at heart.

Loved

The narrator did a superb job! He really did bring the story to life! This is a great lol, unique characters, and mystery! I do recommend the audio just for the fun of the narrator!

Ghost Busters Revisited?

The introduction is fabulous and sets you up for the geekdom to come. Then you get a bit of insight into our "hero" and start to wonder about his issues of self-worth . . . Set in a somewhat dystopian immediate future, the delightful narration (I enjoyed the AUDIO version) keeps you involved with the action as we discover more about this world and its inhabitants. But although there are hints about what the world has become and how this came to be, they are only that and this rather (potentially) important part of the story is largely omitted, at least from this book.

While the first of a series, multiple loose threads notwithstanding, this tale is complete in and of itself and ends on a cheerful note. Sorry if you consider that a spoiler, but this is basically comedy (think Ghost Busters, which gets a sideways allusion) albeit with dark--VERY dark--overtones.

Quick and fun listen

This is a fun listen to a good cozy mystery story. It's only 3 hours so perfect for a road trip or while working in the yard. Great audio accompaniment to a great Angela Pepper book. Now on to book two!

And Then There Were.....Only a Few!

The Garcia sisters were looking forward to a nice relaxing sisters weekend at a newly renovated spa. However, when the ghost of their sister Tessa shows up they realize that was not going to happen, as Tessa only shows when one of them is in danger. After one of the spa guests turns up dead & all access to the outside world is cutoff, the sisters find themselves trying to solve the murder as the bodies & suspects pile up. Just the right amount of suspense & mystery, with a little romance & paranormal added for an extra treat.

Just ok

I was hoping this book would be better. The narrator ruined it for me, she sounded like a petulant teenager. The main character seemed like she was whining. I believe the story was good but the narrator took all positive feelings away from the story. I might consider reading the next in the series if the same narrator is used.

Missing money, mysterious murderer, mystical witch!!!

It's fun to start a book knowing you already love the characters--that's how it is with me and Donovan's Detective Marcella Witch's Series. Each story is stand-alone wonderful, but the build up from one to the next is amazing. I don't know how Mr. Donovan does it, but I hope he keeps doing it for a long time. I feel like these characters are long time friends of mine! (They are that well developed and that complex.)

It's sort of like real life, stuff just keeps happening to them. The story as an episode ends, but as life it always leaves the door open for more. In this "episode", Book 5, there's missing money, a mysterious murderer, and of course, Lilith the mystical witch, and more! I hate to give away a plot, but trust me, this is a fun and entertaining who-dun-it and much more, all because the story is woven intricately and the characters come alive and walk right into your life. Keep it up Mr. Donovan---please!

I enjoyed this book, even though it needed better proof reading. I would recommend this book to everyone who reads!

Marcella Witch Series

I loved the story! This author is going to be awesome! I wish there had been an editor with spellcheck or just plain old spellcheck used, but then maybe I am too anal about spelling and phraseology. The characters are well rounded and you will feel as if you know them after a while. The ongoing relationship between Detective Tony Marcella and Lilith alongside the detective story provides the reader with a great story! Well worth the minimal cost. Lilith and her witchcraft... Marcella and his murder mysteries.... You get it all in every book!

I have enjoyed every book to date. This particular story, Witch House, gives much of the background of the characters for those who may not be reading them in order. (I found it difficult to know which book to read next once they were on my kindle. Later I found that is not as much of a concern as each story holds it's own very well and any references to previous books give enough information to keep you informed). Enjoy!

Light read

I have enjoyed this series so far. The "who did it" was somewhat of a surprise in this edition. I've already bought book 6.

I read this entire series and found the books all riveting. Once started it was awful hard to put it down. Highly recommend the series!!

Loved this story!

I was given a free copy of this story for an honest review. I wasnt completely sure if Id like it or not, although it did catch my attention and sounded interesting. Im glad I asked for a copy. This was such a great, well-written story and it held my attention the whole time. When compared to a lot of stories Ive read or listened to, I come across boring spots in which Ill just set the story down for a while or skip ahead. In this case, that didnt happen once, in fact, I had a hard time setting it down even for bedtime. I knew that Anthony would end up meeting and helping Inga out, in the end, yet I had no idea how the story was going to play out.

This was my first time listening to an audiobook by this narrator. While I feel she did a great job, Im not sure if her hesitation when speaking was because of how she naturally speaks, whether it was added into the story because of the subject matter, or because she hasnt narrated many audiobooks. Either way, it worked! The hesitation provided a nice way of showing how unsure the main characters were when confronted with some questioning situations.

In the end, Im definitely interested in reading/listening to more by Ms. Salnikova.

"The Voice of Waterfalls" was an incredibly pleasant surprise! As many other reviewers have noted, the book has a premise that has been done before (girl escapes evil, finds herself entrapped in a greater evil!). However, I completely disagree that this story was cliched. I think Salnikova hit on all the points we would expect, but did it in such a way that I found it satisfying, surprising and compelling. The villains in this tale are unimaginably twisted; I couldn't stop listening for I absolutely had to know how Inga was going to get out of that mess. The characters were believable despite their sinister behavior; the paranormal element was a unique and interesting plot point.

Michelle Marie, however, was the rockstar of this book for me. She pulled me in right from the beginning and made me feel pity for the characters even when I thought they were being stupid.

A Charming and Cozy Story

This is the first book by the author and narrator that I have listened to. I throughly enjoyed it. Yes this story is not realistic, but it is totally fun and a nice escape. Witches and spells make up a big portion of this story. The book is part of a series and yet a standalone book. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. Charming Magical Mystery

This is a series. In my opinion, the books really do not stand alone. Having said that this is a fun collection of tales about a magical town and it's inhabitants. I received this copy for an unbiased review, but I had already read the previous books in the series. For a relaxing afternoon I recommend a tour of this magical town.

Cute, fun and entertaining cozy paranormal mystery. This was just a lighthearted, very enjoyable and easy afternoon listen. A great balance of mystery, magic and suspense with a bit of clean romance. This was one of the better cozy mystery stories that I have listened to in a while. The story pulls you in immediately, holds your attention and keeps you guessing.

Even though this is book 7 in the series but the first I have listened to it did not effect my enjoyment of this installment. Each book can be listened to as a standalone. I'm sure having some of the backstory would have increased my overall enjoyment though. At some point I would like to read the previous installments of the series.

Great cast of likable and interesting characters.

Things are not going as smoothly for June as she thought they would be on her first day on her new job. She thought she had everything all worked out until suddenly things don't go as planned.

Wow!!! 5 AMAZING STARS!

I amso behind in this series but I have to say, jumping in at this book was addicting and I will be getting my hands and ears on this whole series. The narrator did an amazing job with this story bringing these characters to life and giving them each emotions and their own voice. This was my first time reading/listening to a story by this author, I am definently a fan. 5 Amazing stars!!!

Fast paced Action

really!? I didnt want it to end!

ok, to start, I LOVE THIS SERIES!! so much to obsess over, the world building and "magic" structure is spot on and the characters are fully realized AND there are references to Supernatural!! I cant get enough, and that is why I have to say that this was more like a novella. yes its a crucial part of the whole storyline but there was alot of background and filler, I just felt like I wanted more after the momentum and pace of the previous book.... now that im done with that, i still have all the hope for Jesse' final run..my best to you Kory M. Shrum

Goood job! You confused me.

I've listened to quite a lot of Constance's book by now. I've kind of built certain expectations at this point. There are always likable characters. There's usually a good mystery involved though the endings can be a bit predictable. This series was definitely different. Well, still great characters. But the story was not what I expected. Heck even once I though I figure out what kind of story it was I was wrong. Good job! It get confused once in a while.

Unbelievably fun!

Listening to this series has been quite the ordeal, but it was certainly worth the time! Jessie's more than average life is teeming with novel and exciting events, but it is Angel Clark's narrating of the series which truly ties it all together.
