loved this

This second Book by Mr. Zuko was just as action packed as the first. Maybe even a little more intense because there was a woman with two small children trying to survive. Loved every minute of it.

good story, annoying characters

Great book, it's got a good story to keep you listening. My only problem was some characters were less than endearing to me. Leave it at if I were Jim I wouldn't have bothered coming home for the kids.

Live or Die!

I really enjoyed this audio. I love anything that has to do with zombies and I often feel like since The Walking Dead became a TV show that author's tend to not show appreciation where it's due. As I listened to author Chrissy Peebles take on zombies I was thrilled to hear The Walking Dead in her story. That showed me that she appreciates the author's who wrote that series. I really loved this story and I can't wait to learn what happens to Cal, if she lives, if she finds Sammie, Kyle, and gets back to her family. I probably didn't spell the names right, that's the one downside to audiobooks but it doesn't bother me. This is another amazing series that is a must have to add to your collection.

Narrator, Marian Hussey did an amazing job of her telling of the first story to this series. She had me glued to my seat from start to finish. I think she did a great job with distinguishing accents and voices of each character. A perfect performance and a story written to perfection. Overall, another 5 star rating!

If you mention Philip Wylie to an SF reader in the 21st Century, perhaps the only thing that might come to mind is âWhen Worlds Collide,â about the efforts to save a portion of humanity after an asteroid is detected coming our way. But the novelist and social critic was known for far more than that, including a little known novelization of his episode (directed by a young Steven Spielberg) of his episode for NBCâs The Name of the Game.

For those whose knowledge of past pop culture could fill a thimble, The Name of the Game was a highly regarded series about journalism, featuring a revolving cast of leads - Gene Barry, Robert Stack, and Tony Franciosa, a very talented man whose main claim to fame these days seems to be his self-destructive habits as an actor.

It was, quite simply, one of the best shows about journalism ever made.

I picked up the novel soon after seeing the episode on American Forces Television in Germany. Published by the wretched Popular Library, a paperback house infamous for the speed at which pages would literally fall out of the book after just one reading, it hasnât been reprinted. The copy I have before me now I found on Amazon a few months ago.

Lords of War stunk up the place more than the neighborhood skunk!

By the time "Audible hopes you've enjoyed this......." Gave us the friendly notice that the book was over, I was a drooling, dazed, walking dead that felt like I had been run over by a Mack truck. I have never listened to such a terrible narrator! From the opening syllables to the ending ringing in my ears, it was one long sentence done at breakneck speed with a monotone Extrodinare! I was so disappointed because the little intro laid out all the essentials for my kind of Sci Fi. Isn't there an editor who looks the books over before he turns them out?

story isn't bad...but the reader is so bad. I turned down playback to .5 and could follow. although sounds like a drunk read it then.

naration was crap, couldn't tell you if the story was any good because of Steven Morgan's life ruining performan. I almost want to give up audible because they would put that out there

I was unable to follow the book due the how fast it was going. Even at 0.75 it was unfollowable.

An absolute cracking period murder mystery

A more worthy sequel to "Death by Silver" one could not imagine. Our two favorite sleuths are at it again with an even more intriguing case. Many of the same beloved characters return including the more than capable Ms. Frost and Inspector Hatton, now head of the newly formed metaphysical crimes squad. Our two gents will need all their wits and friends about them as they race against time to save their beloved London and even themselves from an evil terror conjured from unscrupulous and decidedly unsavory unsanctioned spell.

The narration was spot on, voicing characters so well I thought I was listening to a whole cast of actors. I highly recommend this Audible version of "Death at the Dionysus Club".

N.B. Until some substantial changes are made, I sadly must advise those listeners to avoid the first Audible book in this series, but do heartily suggest they read "Death by Silver"

I love this pair of detectives

The story combines detection with 'metaphysics': magic and murder in a fictional Victorian style London. The gay characters are exploring their relationship alongside their chase for a murderer taking people's hearts. It sounds odd, but works brilliantly. I really enjoyed it and would love more (I've read the previous book about Ned and Julian) I hope Griswold and Scott write another one soon! Other characters like Hatton, the police inspector, and 'Miss' Frost, the assistant, are interesting too. More of Frost would be great for the next book!

The one negative is the narrator's very odd pronunciation. I'm assuming he is trying for upper crust English, but there are some glaring errors! It's a shame because the differentiation of characters voices etc works well but the accent and pronunciation is very peculiar indeed!

I haven't, but I like him...I thought he did a good job, and was actually very relaxing to listen too!

I did laugh at the girls antics a few times, Adrian really empowered them!

I really enjoyed the first half of this book, when Adrian finds the girls, and then tries to find them a home, realizing the home for girls was not what he though and ultimately liberating 16 young girls from a life of torture....I liked how he trained them and loved them and taught them to be independent...but they took it and ran with it...and that was actually kind of endearing..the last part of the book was kind of boring to me...very military based and at times it was a little much...I do like Adrian though...he rocks!!!

Good Story!

Takes the Eden books in another direction

The Eden books are good for what they are and this one is no exception. They give a story that is enjoyable and they out line skills and ideas that one needs to at least think about in an end of the current government situation.

The narrator is a little different than many others I have listen to on Audible but he brings that uniqueness to the Eden books and after the 4 book it is what I expect.

If you are interested at all about SHTF scenarios than I recommend this book it can be read by it's self but even better in order.

The book was an ok read. Adrian's Rangers were just plain silly. These little girls who fancy themselves some kind of a Navy Seal unit I found to be just plain silly. They manage to sneak on an aircraft carrier and take the bridge from experienced Navy officers. Ridiculous. I almost stopped reading right there.The end battle was very anti-climactic. The author just sailed right through it in a couple pages.

This is my least favorite of the three, but I still like it a lot! I am really sorry that Mr. Daley never wrote more of these. The characters take on a great deal more depth in this story, and there are some truly original ideas and situations to experience.

Would love to get my hands on a Brawley and those Pathfinder boots :)
