    Publisher's Summary:
Talon Avalon is a Timecaster; a cop who is able to look back in time and view crimes that have already happened. But that was before he was framed by an alternate version of himself from another dimension. Now he's being hunted in this world, and countless parallel worlds, as the biggest mass-murderer in history.
While trying to save his kidnapped wife and clear his name, Talon fights to prevent a series of mishaps that could destroy the multiverse, along with the very fabric of spacetime. He only has a few hours to save an infinity of humanity. All it will take is guts, his fists, plenty of narcotics and adrenaline, some high tech weaponry, a wise-ass sidekick, a few talking dinosaurs, and enough strength to survive a plethora of erotic encounters.
Time is NOT on his side.

    Self-consciously irreverant fun.
    Any additional comments?
This book is hilarious. As a result of his previous successes, I believe, the author was able to take a lot of liberties with the content and the style. I don't laugh often, but there were many passages in Supersymmetry that made me laugh out loud, not just at the content, but also at the composition of the story.
Konrath thumbs his nose at his editors, himself, his readers, and his characters in an amusing way. In several instances, he plagiarizes medium-length passages from Timecaster, and just when you're starting to think he's being a lazy hack, he acknowledges that he's being a lazy hack...but in a funny enough way to make it all right. The book also repeats itself verbatim, several times, but it comes across as a reasonable technique in a story taking place in several nearly identical multiple universes.
I've read most of what Konrath has made available to the public, and this is his "loosest" novel so far. I mean that he seems to be purposefully having a good time writing it outrageously, and seems not to care what the readers might think. I liked the freedom this style suggested. He warns you in the forward, and after that, makes no apologies. I wonder what the discussion was like with his editor when he turned in the final draft.
Konrath has embraced the millennial culture of the rude, crude, and vulgar, similar to the television and movie industries, but if you can stomach the raunchiness, there is no better purveyor. He's funny. Really funny. Do NOT attempt without reading Timecaster first!

Anthony Jackson. Patriot. Spy. Widower. Still reeling after the death of his wife, Jackson is numbly training anti-government troops. Confident that his role in political affairs has dwindled to being a glorified shooting teacher, Jackson is slowly trying to piece his heart back together. Until the call comes. The rebels are far from done with Jackson, and this time the promised reward is big and juicy: the presidency.
As the world slowly falls apart, men fight and men die, and Anthony Jackson cannot simply watch. Something has to change, and someone has to change things, and deep down, Jackson knows that he's the only man that can do the job. But as cities fall, the eternal question continues to burn in his mind: just who can he really trust?

    Great Wrap-up of the Trilogy
In my opinion, the third book in the Fire War trilogy is the best. The writing is great with few editing glitches. The story of Anthony's fight against the forces of evil, so to speak, in the guise of the president, is wrapped up with satisfaction. There are still some descriptions of technology and everyday life that I would have liked to be more futuristic, since the story is set in the 2080s. The theme and message of this and the previous two books is very disturbing in light of the current U.S. political climate, and shows how fragile democracy can be. The ending has a twist that leaves the door open to more books, and I hope the author continues the story.
The concept is great but let down a little by the execution.
Fire War 111 is an interesting novel especially against the backdrop of the current US election and the behavior of Donald Trump. Trump is preying on the fears of people struggling with change and looking for someone to blame for changes in the world that they can no longer understand. Trump like the President in the Fire Wall timeline is offering security where there is non and operating like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The book is reasonably well written, but is let down by what I thought was a fairly implausible story line. The concept is great but let down a little by the execution.
Fire War III is an excellent thriller
Fire War III is an excellent thriller. Part of the Fire War trilogy, this novel is a political and military thriller set in the near future (the later part of the 21st century). A real page turner, this book is hard to put down. Good action scenes, pacing, and vivid settings, with plenty of tension and conflict, something I, as a avid reader of thrillers, enjoy. You see the action through the eyes of the main character Anthony Jackson, a military man, a spy, and a widower who still grieves over the loss of his wife. The book is also a political thriller, and it raises good questions about liberty, personal security, personal freedoms, and dictatorships â what we sometimes have to give up to obtain something else.
    Overall a great read.
    Excellent Finish
This trilogy of books remind us of the scary potential of power. Lots of parallels to our current political climate. This was a perfect ending to the trilogy and if another story was to be written I would gladly read it. The writing is down to earth, easy to read, and captivating.

    Perdition Plains
    Any additional comments?
Interesting, unusual and entertaining story. Definitely an unusual and unique story. I have not read the first book in the series but that didn't hinder my enjoyment of this installment. I had no problem following the story line. It can absolutely be listened to as a stand alone book. I would like to go back and read the first book just for the enjoyment of it.
An unusual world that is a mixture of post apocalyptic, old west, futuristic. Full of humor, action and creepiness. A twisted tale that includes ghouls/zombies, rotten meat, a mad scientist and much more. What cast of characters. Of coarse Clay and Gibbons are great characters. The rest are just creepy. Good but creepy.
Run far and fast from any place that has the name perdition in it.
J Scott Bennett did a fantastic job with the narration as usual. Great character voices. Love the voice for Gibbons. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great delivery with the humor in the story. He just has a way of bringing the characters and story to life.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher
    Clay and Gibbons Rock!
    Any additional comments?
I listened to book one and was very happy to find there was a book two. Clay and his AI, Gibbons, are so much fun and the narrator absolutely makes you feel, think and believe!!
Book two picks up where book one leaves off but you don't need book one for this listen to resonate--it can stand on its own. (But get book one. That's where my love affair for Clay and Gibbons began!)
The two road warriors stumble yet again into the crazy that is this new/neo existence. Even though the world and the technology therein is not real to my 2016 sensibilities, the author and narrator combine to bring the machinery to life.
I really enjoy whatever it is that the narrator does to create the vocals for Gibbons. He even ratcheted it up a notch for Gibbons with this listen.
I have to believe that a book three is in the works and I can not wait.
    Worth the listen!
I was completely enthralled by the first book in this series. Clay and Gibbons make quite the comedic duo. The narrator's performance was spot on in book two, making it easy to distinguish between Gibbons AI voice and the sound of his meat bag voice. It was nice to see how Gibbons got a taste of what it's like to be in human form, albeit deteriorating, but at least he got to try it on for size. This second installment to the Fighting Iron series was creepier than the first and well worth the listen.

The feud between the Arkonian Morgoth and his Arran half-brother Ea, a deadly struggle for Anu's throne that began on Arra, continues after they arrive on Earth.
Promising to unite the feuding clans, Inanna marries Ea's son, Dumuzi, but her marriage is only a ruse to become queen. Great Performance, Decent Story
This is basically an excellent yarn of a novel. I'm a huge Claudia Christian fan and her voice work is top notch throughout. She shows her range as an actress using her talent on a wide range of characters and attitudes. Story wise it's a bit ridiculous and (even for a sci fi novel) far fetched with it almost jumping the shark at a few points and delving into fantasy. Still it's a fun novel that I had no issue reading throughout and enjoying. Good vacation read and listen. audible20 #audible20
    Ummm...Unexpectedly Awesome
I chanced on this book by recommendation and can not believe that it remains relatively innate as far as popularity goes. Adjectives: New, Original, Captivating, Exciting, Believable, Accurate, relevant, etc.
I loved it! As an Audible Sci Fi junkie (I travel a lot) I would recommend this among my top 3 out of over 100 listened in the past 2 years.
I looked up Claudia Christian and am amazed that her narration is not more common. She is a veteran Sci Fi actor as well as the voice of a plethora of animated movies. I want more!
    Wonderful performance, weak characters
What would have made Wolf's Empire better?
The plot would have been less shaky if the characters were less shallow. If you give the author the benefit of a doubt and presume that the main character acts and thinks the way she does because of her addiction or a weak willed person with ADD, then the main character is a creditable job.
I spent the last 60% of the book frustrated and a bit mad that the main character could not seem to maintain her course or reasons for pursuing it more than a chapter or so. Between that and the way, during combat scenes most frequently, one action that followed another would have been physically or anatomically impossible to perform, I did not enjoy the book.
If Wolf's EmpireGladiator was a $2-4 audio book, these lapses would have been forgivable. As it stands, I plan on skipping any other books by this author that are not touted as being excellent by the masses.

    Publisher's Summary:
In December 2128, the war with the Libra Alliance ended when the Dixie fleet diverted an asteroid into the Libra home world, killing nearly all life there. The collapse of the Libra Alliance created a major power vacuum. Old enemies that had been kept in check by the Alliance soon were once again at war with each other. Navy ships without homes became pirates. The restored League of Planets, now with a strong fleet and army, prepared to incorporate planets that had been part of the Libra Alliance into the league, by force if necessary. The Dixians, sick of war, were content to pick up life where it left off when the war began, though some members of the government desired more. The Gray Panthers of Earth began to mothball their fleet, safe behind their allies and strong defenses.
Old and young started to look for opportunities. One had it harder than most. As a baby, the Jacka runt Short Blade had survived a religious ritual his race used to cleanse their society of undesirables, only to be sold to a Libra ship crew before he became a teen. Short Blade had learned much during his indentureship with the Libras, and when freed by the humans he enlisted in the Gray Panthers, quickly rising to the rank of chief petty officer and then ensign. With the end of the war, he couldn't go home to a life of discrimination among his own race. On Earth he would be a freak, without any others of his kind. Dan Daniels, owner of the Gray Panthers, offered him an opportunity in this brave new world: his own long-range shuttle, in exchange for the occasional favor. What could possibly go wrong?

    Fun read with interesting characters
What made the experience of listening to Gray Panthers: Captain Short Blade the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed the characters, especially Short Blade himself. It's an interesting universe, and while the ending felt a bit abrupt, I really enjoyed it overall.
Would you recommend Gray Panthers: Captain Short Blade to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, I would recommend it to fellow sci-fi lovers.
What does Shawn Saavedra bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Saavedra had a great range of character voices and a delivery that helped get me in - and keep me in - the story.
great series but then the vice actor has changed??
really lost my enjoyment of listening to this series due to the voice actor change. my main issue is that shortblade now sounds well bigger and meaner. now I know he's a pocket rocket but the stark change has really lost the hook that the other books in the series had

    Insipid
This started off badly. The audio narrator with a perfectly nice voice, gives the then 17-yr-old Carrie the voice of a 5-yr-old. Flash forward 5 years. Carrie sounds a little older now, but it doesnt matter because shes basically portrayed as a simpletonsuper-duper naïve (the world is collapsing and shes been living through it; even a kid would be less naïve.), totally idealistic, cant say much of anything intelligent, passive, yet manages to take care of her younger brother and sister. She also blinks a lot.
Enter Greg, who inexplicable hates her on sight and is horrid to her. Absolutely awful, even though his grandmother and everyone in the community loves her. (I dont know why except shes a work horse.)
Theres also Carries sister, who acts like everything is fine and dandy, shirks the chores necessary to survive, and almost gets everyone killed.
And thats when I gave upsomewhere around hour 4.
I am more likely to believe in a zombie apocalypse than in who these characters are or even the set up of how they manage to survive their own stupidity.
The story was wonderful and the acting made it better.
It is a great story and the acting made the story come to life. I had already read the book and loved it so u wanted to listen to it. It was wonderful.

I recall chairman Mou's crowds of believers
The crowds in China cheered, the hearts of
young women wept. Terrible things visited on the the people by the people way and beyond the rape of Nan King by the Japanese only a few years before the second world war. Fanatics are single minded human rationality.
After a decade plus the minds of human beings loose track of human values.
A new slant on our species, our minds under stresses.
I was moved by the story drama.
    Great book! Great series!
If you could sum up The Sentinel in three words, what would they be?
    Great- great - great
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Drake
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Carried me through - good first book of the series
    Any additional comments?
    Keep them coming!
A story with some potential, atrocious narration
What was most disappointing about Michael Wallaces story?
This story actually has potential. But it's written at a teenage level, so there's no effort to take advantage of its potential. Much of dialogue is just filling space, and it's not that long a book to begin with.
Would you be willing to try another one of Steve Barness performances?
Steve Barne's performance was terrible. One of the worst I've come across. I'd be hard pressed to risk trying another.
