    Publisher's Summary:
In the future the UN has brought back an ancient way to keep the peace. The children of world leaders are held hostage - if a war begins, they pay with their lives.
Greta is the crown princess of the Panpolar Confederacy, a superpower formed of modern-day Canada. She is also a child of peace, a hostage held by the de facto ruler of the world: the great artificial intelligence, Talis. The hostages are Talis' strategy to keep the peace: If her country enters a war, Greta dies.
The system has worked for centuries. Parents don't want to see their children murdered.
Greta will be free if she can make it to her 18th birthday. Until then, she is prepared to die with dignity if necessary. But everything changes when Elian arrives at the prefecture. He's a hostage from a new American alliance, and he defies the machines that control every part of their lives - and is severely punished for it. Greta is furious that Elian has disrupted their quiet, structured world. But slowly his rebellion opens her eyes to the brutality of the rules they live under and to the subtle resistance of her companions. And Greta discovers her own quiet power.
Then Elian's country declares war on Greta's and invades the prefecture, taking the hostages hostage. Now the great Talis is furious and coming himself to mete out punishment - which surely means that Greta and Elian will be killed...unless Greta can think of a way to save them.

    A very compelling book
The story was amazing, I couldn't stop listening.
The only thing that held it back, in my opinion, was the narration. It wasn't terrible, but some of the character's voices were inconsistent and I wasn't always sure who was supposed to be talking.
    V much good
Narrator has very weird stilted delivery, with a lot of unnecessary pauses in the middle of lines and terrible accents. Story was excellent, with compelling characters and ideas.
    Fantastic
Great story and reader. The use of AI and hostage children in a post apocalyptic world was fantastic. One of my new favourites
    Awesome setting, lacks character depth
I loved the futuristic setting and the descriptions- they offered a glimpse, but didn't take up half the book. I think that the awesome setting and plot would've made for a masterpiece had the characters not lacked so much emotion! I didn't feel connected to them or moved by their struggles and emotions. They seemed quite distant.
I'd love a sequel- with some more character depth.

    Good sequel. Don't miss it.

Home fires burning was a great second book. The story evolved naturally and new characters were added in a logical sequence. Be prepared, the scenes become so raw and disturbing I cringed at times.

    Publisher's Summary:
It's the mid-21st century. The oceans are rising, the world's population is growing, terrorist organizations are running rampant, and it has become readily apparent that humanity's destructive nature is at the heart of the matter. When all faith in humanity seems lost, a startling proposal is announced: Solomon Chavez, the mysterious son of the world's first trillionaire, announces that he, backed by a consortium of governments and wealthy donors, will build an interstellar starship - one that will convey a select group of 6,000 individuals, all under the age of 50, with no living relatives, to a recently discovered planet in the Epsilon Eridani star system. His goal is lofty: to build a colony that will ensure the survival of the human race. However, Solomon Chavez has a secret that he doesn't dare share with the rest of the world.
With the launch date rapidly approaching, great odds must be overcome so that the starship Solomon's Arrow can fulfill what the human race has dreamed of for millennia: reaching for the stars. The goal is noble, but looming on the horizon are threats nobody could have imagined - ones that may spell the end of all human life and end the universe as we know it. Filled with action, suspense, and characters that will live on in the imagination, Solomon's Arrow will leave listeners breathless while at the same time questioning what humanity's true goals should be: reaching for the stars or exploring the limits of the human mind?

    Six shooter with 12 rounds
The wrighter made rules then the changed unlimeted power when needed This may sound strange I like my scifi more realistic.
Ok start, weird middle, bad ending
If you enjoy religious fanatics, supernatural spiritual powers and the message that people should stay on earth and take care of the planet instead of traveling to the stars... buy this book.
If you like science fiction, don't.
    Enjoyed it for sure.
Enjoyable journey once I figured out what kind of story it was. It's worth a listen.

So poorly preformed hard to listen to, if I see this performer on another book I won't listen to it.
Starts out good, gets lame in the halfway
What would have made Diary of the Displaced Omnibus better?
I was hoping more of the survival alone, skip the resistance part completely
What was most disappointing about Glynn Jamess story?
When he reached Sisters of the story started to get lame, resistance etc and trying to trap the nurlath (etc)
What three words best describe Josiah John Bildners voice?
    good adaptive
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    disappointment
    Any additional comments?
Good start and well played with the mirror and "memories" of London. Well built up story from the beginning. It started to go downhill when he met the sisters. Very good up to the roadhouse even. I quit in the middle, couldn't keep up with the story anymore

    The Cowardly Gods and Spoilers
The title of this book should be The Cowardly God's. This was a major disappointment for me because I am a big fan of the Pantheon / Faye genre.
First this is a one shot book because the author takes to killing immortals off left and right within a couple hours. Apparently the immortals after 4000 years of living on earth have 0 resources to pull from to stop 1 psycho mortal ( 60 years old ) because they are running for there lives most of the time like cowardly chickens. The mortal who is sending hit squads out to kill the immortals has a Army unlimited Russian hit squads members that seem to have a Teleportation ability to show up out of the blue in any part of the United States and the world undetected by law enforcement.

They're back, and they want to end us.
The Ca'cadasan Empire is at the gates, and they mean to destroy the human race. But we will not go quietly into the night.
The saga continues as Sean Ogden Lee Romanov finds himself the uncrowned leader of the New Terran Empire. After 2,000 years, the old enemy has found them, but the humans are no longer the technologically inferior species they once were. A thousand years of Empire has forged a mighty military that has never lost a war. The Ca'cadasans are still slightly ahead in tech, are much larger, and have never failed in a conquest. There is dissension within as Parliament wants to put their own man in charge, and Sean is woefully unprepared for the task that awaits him. Time is running out, and if the Empire and the species are to survive the new man must be installed, and humanity must rally behind him. New technologies are on the horizon, the technologies on which the course of the war could turn, for better or worse. War rages across the stars on a galactic scale. The third book of a series that will span over a century of time and tens of thousands of light years of space.

    Really good space warfare
This book in the series is long, but never really dragged at all for me. It was fairly continuous action throughout and didn't get stale. I actually found myself doing the thing that is a hallmark of a good audiobook - I found excuses to keep listening!
    i rarely review
Where does Exodus: Empires at War: Book 3: The Rising Storm rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
very high on my personal favorites list
What did you like best about this story?
learning more about the enemy and the new emperors choices, he is turning out to be a worthy leader
    Which scene was your favorite?
when Cornelius takes revenge over for his wife
    Any additional comments?
I'm mainly posting a review because this series already has 8 books out, and only 3 are on audio, and would love to hear more being I work a lot and cant sit much to enjoy reading a book, they are so well done and the Narrator does an excellent job and bringing these books to life
    Classic Space Opera
Where does Exodus: Empires at War: Book 3: The Rising Storm rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I listened to all three in a row, which I recommend. This is solid military space opera and,, if you like the genre, you will enjoy this. It's not as well developed as early Weber or Ringo and the battles are repetitious if only because of the physics of the battle space. These books could use more character development. The plot lines are interesting and a little unpredictable, which is good. This last book ends on several cliff hangars, so be ready for that and for the next installment. The narration improved dramatically in the last book, which is a plus too. I would rank this as not quite as well written or performed as the Koban series, but still worth your time and money.
    Any additional comments?
I'll buy the next book in the series as soon as its available.
    great book
please hurry with book 4. i can't seem to stop listening to them when I get them.
    A great Series
Excellent continuation of what is turning into a great old style space opera series. An addictive listen. Do not pass this up.

    The author delivers!
As promised, Ms Rusch has gotten down to business and moved the story forward with plenty of action. Those of us who have waded through, and paid for, middle chapters in the saga which should never have been separate books, are now rewarded with a story beginning to tie up the loose ends in the saga, and there are plenty of them. Lots of good detective work, tense drama and the usual good character development are present in abundance. A good penultimate episode.
    The author as weaver...result...beautiful!
Kristine Kathryn Rusch and Jay Snyder have teamed up to produce an intricate tapestry in this saga. Each of the novels in this universe has wrapped threads of questions and speculation around this listener. I keep saying to myself, "I wonder if..." or "Will this character ever..." or "WHAT THE..???" This storytelling team has kept me on the edge of my seat and coming back for more.
With this 7th installment of the saga, "loose threads" are being woven into a complex tapestry that is very enjoyable, very scary and very beautiful. I will definitely be going back to the beginning of the saga and listening to the first 7 books so that I can be ready for book 8.
Thank you - Kristine & Jay - for creating such a masterful work!

    a good book
i found this to be a good book for all ages
the only problem with it was it could have been longer and some things where rushed in two or three places or more but over all i still give it 5 stars
cant wait until more from Alan Black come out as seeing i will be buying them if he keeps up the good work
I couldn't put this book down!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I'm a big audiobook fan and sometimes I don't try new genres or go away from my norm. I was told this book was good and to give it a listen. Wow, between the authors story and the way the narrator brought this story to life, I couldn't stop listening to it. That said, I'm now a fan of both Alan Black and Patrick Freeman.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Titanium Texicans?
I guess the maturity of Tasso thru out the book was what I enjoyed. How he matured as a person and handled events differently thru out the book.He seemed to get respect from the adults because he was raised correctly and had good manners, I like that. Also how he handled his peers.....and grew-up over the course of the book.
    Which scene was your favorite?
Has to be the "taco" event.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I wanted to but I have a life.....that said, every opportunity I had I was listening. I think it took only a few days....I can't remember ever sitting in my car trying to finish a book because of how much I was into it.
    Any additional comments?
If you're like me and listen to your fair share of books, I believe the narrator can make books come to life and I get excited when certain books are narrated by certain folks. I never listened to anything performed by Patrick Freeman but I will now....He seems to be a younger Scott Brick and now has a fan!!!
    Great performance
The Narrator did a very good narration with different voices and tones and accents. It was very enjoyable to hear a book I've been reading multiple times.
    Poorly written non-space story
What would have made Titanium Texicans better?
Sorry to say that a better writer could maybe have saved the story but probably not. Very amateurish,as in highschool writing assignment amateur.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not anything by Alan Black. I am sad to say that I gave been burned the last several times by reading/believing Audible reviewers
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Use an actual Texas accent. As a native Texan I was offended by this narrators extremely poor Texas, Mexican, Texican accent!
    You didnt love this book...
