Live From My Office

David Letterman once said about Bill Zehme, "...he was also emblematic of that era when profile writers were often cooler than the people they were profiling. Whenever he interviewed me, I tried inhumanly hard to impress the guy..."

Bill was a good friend for most of the 30 years I've been in Chicago and Carson was foundational in our relationship. On this episode I talk with one of Bill's best friends, Mike Thomas, who worked with Bill for years. Mike has been a great writer at the Chicago Sun-Times forever and he's authored two terrific books of his own

When Bill died, Mike was the absolute best choice to finish this book

Of course we talk about Carson but we spend time detailing the run of the GOAT, Bill Zehme, as well

Get the book and share this new episode of LIVE FROM MY OFFICE

Originally from 2020, this episode feels more relevant today. I explain why we need YOU… yes you… to be a voter in this election. I also breakdown some of the most common barriers people put between THEMSELVES and voting. That's a polite way of simply saying IF YOU CARE about what happens to this country and your family, there are no excuses...VOTE! Thanks for listening!

Also...
- Do I need the new covid vaccine?

There are a small handful of NFL play-by-play legends and none are better than Wayne Larrivee.

The Kamala coming out party in Chicago went very, very, well. But where will the Dems go from here?

We know the Trumplicans will vote.  Will the Dems show up now that the party's party is over?

Congressman Mike Quigley, Analyst Pat Brady, and regular guy Mark DeCarlo were at the United Center all week.

Hear there three perspectives as we talk about what's now and what's next?

POLITICS DONE REASONABLY

Pat Brady and Bridget Gainer are two of my favorite guests. They know politics inside-out and while they come from different sides they talk AND listen to each other

I know...what a crazy concept!

We talk DNC, Kamala/Walz, and Trump panic.  We also discuss what Mayor Brandon Johnson is and isn't "leading" in Chicago.

Check out the show notes for important projects that they each lead and hear them here on this new episode of LIVE FROM MY OFFICE!

SHOW NOTES
Bridget Gainer founded and leads the Cook County Land Bank which is about to cut the ribbon and celebrate its 2,000th property. They are changing lives and the look of long vacant homes and lots in and around Chicago!

Pat Brady co-founded the Lincoln Forum where you can see and hear the biggest named in politics and policy issues for Illinois and the USA. Check out more here.

MY WISH FOR YOU... ...is that you have a friend in your life like Paul Coyte

He is funny, kind, decent, and smart.  He's also British...but if you get 4 out of 5 you're good. On this new episode we talk about a lot of stuff but the crazy thing is that I had a tech problem on my end that made me sound distant at best.

So I sound like I'm FAR AWAY while Paul, who is in London, sounds like he's in the room. Other than that I think you'll really like this new episode of LIVE FROM MY OFFICE
