Live From My Office

Pat Brady is a Republican. Eric Adelstein is a Democrat. Yet they are friends who can talk about politics...

What a concept! Hear them here on 2021 from D.C. to Springfield to Chicago. This may be the only political discussion that you can listen to without hating politics!

SHOW NOTES

In the final days of 2021 you can still make a difference through your generosity. The last 2 years have hammered charities and your money, time, or both makes a huge difference. Check out this list for some great organizations including Meals on Wheels.

On this episode of LIVE FROM MY OFFICE you get 2 books... very different from each other... that I'm highly recommending! First, superstar author David Baldacci is back with the 4th in his Atlee Pine series. I have questions...

- will she get the answers she has searched for throughout her life?

- will there be a movie?

- will I get an audition?

Then Joe McQuillen is here with a new book to help all of us better understand grief and that goodbye is not the end. The horrible loss of his son has made this his life's work and we thank him for the courage. Get both books for gifts this season!

SHOW NOTES

David Baldacci and his family encourage you to support literacy with the Wish You Well Foundation.

Joe McQuillen and family encourage your support of beating addiction and hope you'll consider helping a unique effort at the In Balance Academy.

They also support community theater access for the developmentally disabled at the Penguin Project.

Get David's book and learn more about his other books.

Get Joe's book and learn more about his life.

THEY'RE BAAACK! Harry and Spike were radio regulars for most of the past 25 years. Off the air they kept doing stand up and writing... both cursive and printing.

NOW they have written a very honest, very funny play about Harry getting sober and we talk about it here. Go see it!

You know that old saying? Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Who Had Her Invention Stolen?

"Blood in the Water" tells the stories of the little guys who did the right thing but had their passion stolen by big companies... with the full support of the U.S. government. This book tells those stories and somehow is very entertaining along the way. Thanks for listening!

SHOW NOTES

Giving Tuesday is designed to follow Black Friday and Cyber Monday by asking you to be as generous as you can to those in need at the start of the holiday season. This list includes charities supported by Steve and Ross Cochran for years. They are all worthy of your support.

Go to usinventor.org for details on the law that Congress needs to pass to fix the patent system.  You'll also find sample letters to send to your Reps to demand their support and protection for hard working inventors.
