When you're thinking about starting a new adventure, whether it's starting a business, building a homestead, pulling your kids out of school, or any number of things, it takes bravery to actually step out and do it. But it also takes smarts to know the best way to go about doing it.
Amy Dingmann of A Farmish Kind of Life is a homesteader, homeschooling mom, blogger, author, podcaster, and YouTuber and she is here to help you think through the importance of being both brave and smart when you're considering your next adventure.

Today, we continue the pantry management series with a discussion about how to keep your pantry stocked once you get things organized in there and have built up a store of supplies. Remember, this is all founded in store what you use, use what you store to tag off of Jack Spirko's recommendations. And restocking can be a real bugaboo if not everyone in the house is helping with it. I will share with you today how I manage this without laboriously doing inventories and spreadsheets.

Today is #selfishsunday and with all the tension surrounding the coronavirus, I asked Tactical Redneck to reach out to his father to get a better perspective on the scale of what he is seeing in this illness versus the media-fueled, absolute mind-losing panic that we are seeing.
He agreed to send an email with his thoughts, which I heave read in this podcast.
If after listening, you have more questions, send them to me via email - you know my email or use the contact form here.
If we get enough questions, I will see about getting him on the air. If we do not, I will gladly email your question to him for answering.

Today is a thought of the walk day and I thought it would be a great time, among all the covid panic to explore the concept of champagne and hookers that i covered in my debt payoff episode a little more deeply.

If you are a generally robust and under 50 sort of person, figure out who in your neighborhood is immunocompromised or elderly and figure out what you can do to help them limit their exposure. Exchange phone numbers so can help them order things on Amazon or do door drop-offs of their groceries, etc.

There are so many new listeners that I thought it would be worthwhile to talk about our tagline: Helping you build the life you choose on your terms. Lots of people think this podcast is about homesteading, about cooking good food, about liberty and freedom - and it is. We do tons on starting and growing your own business, side hustles and more. But when you dig right into things a little deeper, you will discover the LFTN is about choosing the life you want to live, then setting yourself up to go there. The life I choose to live is in the country, but this approach works in the city and all over the world. The hardest part of doing it is accepting that you CAN do it.

Jenni just completed training as a massage therapist in Tennessee, where she makes her home with her children and a dog. She enjoys spending time with her feet in the dirt, learning to grow things and having new experiences. When she's not in the outdoors, or reading, she's in the kitchen creating something yummy. Believing in the power of positivity and perspective, Jenni spends time encouraging others to live their best life.

Today, we talk about how ready we were here at the Holler Homestead for the aftermath of the Tennessee tornadoes and what you can learn for that as you build the ability to make it through similar events at your home or on your homestead. I will come at this with my homestead as the example but also keeping in mind that many of you live in a city and have different realities.
#HollerHatWednesday: What is she doing?
Thanks to the folks who offered work trade for part of their tuition to our Spring workshop. I took the first person who contacted me and am thankful for all the interest!

PS: I do not have good internet so the website show notes will not be up until I do.
Last week's shows seemed to shake comments out of the trees, so today I will share some feedback with y'all as well as further thoughts on the following topics:
NOTICE: Looking for someone to help with things related to workshop set up/or tear down in exchange for a half priced ticked. Email me if that person is you.
