Building a UK property portfolio undoubtedly has many benefits but perhaps the best thing it affords, if you get it right, is the chance to be both financially and location independent.

Julie Talbot started building her portfolio in and around her hometown of Salford in Manchester, whilst living in London, before following her husband to Abu Dhabi.

After fine tuning their remote investing skills, and with their children in tow, they now go wherever takes their fancy.

Julie has two rules when it comes to managing their portfolio: 

 1.    She doesn’t fly back to the UK for property related matters.

2.    She doesn’t answer the phone
