Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche

The defense seems to be where all the questions that Avalanche fans want answers to this off-season and we might have a glimpse into what the Avs might have in mind with reports claiming the Avs have interest in trading for the Arizona Coyotes defender Niklas Hjalmarsson. If the reports are true what does this mean for certain Avs players already on the roster? Logon O'Connor becomes the first Avs singing of the off-season and we hand J.T. The Colorado Avalanche have loaned prospect Martin Kaut to HC Dynamo of the Czech Extraliga. Does this mean the Avs have bigger plans in store for him and next year? We take a look back at the last 10 years of Avalanche draft picks and ask what would the Avs do if given the opportunity to re-draft. Tune in and subscribe!

The Dallas Stars took care of the Vegas Golden Knights and punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup final. Does that make the regular Avs fan feel good that they lost to a Cup finals team, or bitter feeling like it should be their team in the final? I'm guessing heavily towards the latter. We give Matt Calvert his 2019-2020 season grade. Tune in and subscribe!

When the season came to an end the one thing on everyone's mind was 'what goalie are we getting in free agency?'. Joe Sakic gave you your answer. None. Sakic stated in an interview he was happy with his goalies and their struggles were not performance based but because of injuries, and injuries are fixable. We also hand out season grade to André Burakovsky. Tune in and subscribe!

While not a club we want to be part of on a yearly basis, you need something to make fun out of losing. So I joined the hosts of the Locked on Flyers podcast as well as beat writers for the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins as well as wallow in self pity over our teams losing in the second round of the NHL Playoffs. We discuss what our teams did wrong and what they need to change in the off-season so this doesn't happen again. Which is odd because it can't happen for all our teams. Tune in and subscribe!

Today is day one of our grade handouts and we start at the top of the list with Mark Barberio. Have we seen the last of him in an Avalanche jersey? Spencer Sheets joins the show to give us his take on the Dallas series as well as what the Avs need to do in order to get over the playoff hump. Tune in and subscribe!

When your teams season comes to an end, the knee jerk reaction is to blow it all up and start over. That most likely won't happen with this Avalanche team, but that doesn't mean there aren't things they need to work on. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen's press conference at the end of the season ending loss to Dallas speaks to this. Tune in and subscribe!
