Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche got going on some qualifying offers to their RFA's yesterday and send QO's to Andre Burakovsky, Ryan Graves, Tyson Jost, Valeri Nichushkin and Nikita Zadorov. Now we wait. We also have no idea exactly what the Avalanche will do this off-season. We hear reports on both sides saying they will spend and others saying they won't. Which is it? Tune in and subscribe!

We are getting closer and closer to that point of the off-season where players come and players go. Philipp Grubauer had another injury plagued year. Would that hinder his grade from the people of Twitter? Gary Bettman hasn't figured out just yet what next year will look like but says he hopes to have a better idea in the next few weeks. We take a look at several hockey sites around the net to see who they have the Avs picking, and one thing stands out. Tune in and subscribe!

Tampa Bay winning the Stanley Cup is so Monday. Let's talk about next year already and how the Avalanche are the Vegas favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Does this put added pressure on them? When a big name becomes available the fan base naturally wants to add that player. Henrik Lundqvist became a free agent and Avs fans have made their voice loud of wanting to bring him in. But does it make any sense? Tune in and subscribe!

The Colorado Avalanche have been known to be on the quiet side during recent off-seasons. This year could, and probably should, be different as the Avs are in a prime position a lot of teams aren't due to the flat cap. The time is now. The Avs also have switched picked with the Washington Capitals. Not because they made a trade, because of a new NHL rule that is in place for this year only. 2020 continues to be great. Lives of The Stoics: The Art of Living from Zeno to Marcus Aurelius

From the bestselling authors of The Daily Stoic, comes the ultimate stoicism guide to success, resilience and virtue - to accept what you cannot control and adapt to what you can. Sports teams across the country are applying this popular philosophy by using stoicism’s key idea - YOU control how you respond and play, YOU DON’T control what the refs and fans do or how the ball bounces. It’s about what YOU did to adapt.

When you're a team on the rise, naturally all big name players who might be available are immediately attached to you. Such is the case with Torey Krug from the Boston Bruins and Patrik Laine from the Winnipeg Jets. Would the Avs move on either or both of these guys? We discuss. And Locked on Avalanche favorite player Sam Girard gets his season grade. Tune in and subscribe!

Pavel 'Frankie" Francouz stepped in this season probably more than he anticipated and did one hell of a job. The playoffs did not go as planned for him, but the season he had cannot be forgotten. We hand out his grade for the season and he is the first one thus far to receive the grade bestowed upon him. We also take a look at four more draft prospects, two that most likely won't be available when the Avs pick (Jack Quinn, Rodion Amirov) and two that most likely will be (Dylan Holloway, Hendrix Lapperie), but should they take them? The draft is a week and a half away, so what better time to start looking into some draft prospects. Today we take a look at two prospects that probably won't be around for the Avs but could land in their lap, and two that should be around when they make their selection. We also hand out the season grade for Joonas Donskoi. Tune in and subscribe!

We all expected Cale Makar to take home the Calder Trophy, and that is exactly what he did. But one has to question how the voters can get one award so right while getting the other so wrong. Nathan MacKinnon was the embodiment of what a Most Valuable Player looks like during this season, and the voters went with stats. The agony of defeat and the thrill of victory. All in one episode. Tune in and enjoy!
