Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche

The third and final part of my conversation with Ryan Clark from The Athletic. Today Ryan and I talk about his decision to leave Colorado and head back to Seattle to cover the Kraken and how hard of a decision that was. We talk about what to expect from the Kraken in year one and I force him to play GM of the Kraken and make their selection of an Avs player in the expansion draft. Tune in and subscribe and a HUGE thank you to Ryan for coming on the show.

Episode #200! Part two of my discussion with Ryan Clark from The Athletic. Today we talk about the financial side of the Avs and if they will remain in good shape during the "flat cap era". We also take a look at Nathan MacKinnon and why he doesn't get the widespread notoriety guys like Connor McDavid and Austin Matthews get. Tune in and subscribe!

First it was Nathan MacKinnon to send Avs fans into a tailspin about the possible Nordiques uniforms, now Mikko Rantanen has gotten into the mix as well posting similar color hockey pants. But could this be more than just the Avs / Nords third jerseys? Adam Denker from Locked On Lightning gives his take on if the Lightning should be ranked #1 by default due to their championship status. Cale Makar was ranked pretty high in the NHL Networks rankings of the top 20 defensemen in the NHL. Tune in and subscribe!

We never know what people are going through. No matter if they are an athlete or your blue collar worker. Colin Wilson only played in nine games this past year and we never got an answer as to why. Yesterday we did from Colin himself. In a heartfelt essay on The Players Tribune, Colin shared with the world his story and his lifelong battle with OCD, mental health and addiction. It's never easy for anyone to let people know they struggle with these aspects of life, and Colin Wilson stood up and told the world. We all should applaud him.

We have celebrated the moves made by Joe Sakic and the Colorado Avalanche this off-season, now it is time to look ahead at any one of the number of players the Avs could lose to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Are you someone who believes the defending champion should be ranked #1 no matter the off-season moves by other teams? I discuss if the Avs should be above Tampa Bay. Mikko Rantanen gets his 2019-2020 season grade. Tune in and subscribe!

Hari Nair joined the show a couple months ago to discuss where the NHL stood when it came to race relations and the work that needed to be done. The NHL has said they want to start next season as early as Jan 1 but have acknowledged that it might not happen. Will it or won't it? Kyle Sullivan joins the show once again and this time he is here with his take on how he thinks the Avs did this off-season, from draft to free agency to trades. Tune in and subscribe!

Goodbye to the Pepsi Center, hello to the Ball Arena. The owners of the Colorado Avalanche moved naming rights to the new company and some fans aren't happy. Is there more room for Alex Newhook to make the Avs than Bowen Byram? We give now former Avalanche Matt Nieto his 2019-2020 season grade. Tune in and subscribe!

Justin Barron was taken by the Avalanche in the first round of the 2020 draft and thanks to a behind the scenes video posted by the team, we know Nathan MacKinnon was pushing hard for his team to draft Barron. Did he have more influence than we realize? Also, thanks to that video, we know who was at the top of the list for the Avs despite them beeping out the players names (understandably so). But my background in FBI investigating (of which I have none) plays a part in figuring it out. Tune in and subscribe!
