Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche

Coach Jared Bednar was inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame, and in looking at his playing stats one has to wonder what the criteria is for entry. I go over a questionnaire 400 NHL players were asked and give my own impressions. I also get up to date on where the Avs stand across the web in Power Rankings. Tune in and subscribe!

Colorado handled the Red Wings with relative ease and enter the break 6 points behind St. Louis for top spot in the division. Nathan MacKinnon reached the 30 goal mark on the season and currently sits at 72 points overall. Hart Trophy calling? And are the Avs getting the All-Star Game next season? Tune in and subscribe!!

The Avalanche finished last week strong with wins against San Jose and St. Louis. Can the team (and specific players) build upon their performance and carry that into the game against Detroit? I also hand out my prestigious Three Stars of Last Week as well as a look ahead to that game against our former rival Red Wings. Tune in and subscribe!

The Avalanche shutout the San Jose Sharks 4-0 but we will wait until Monday to discuss the impressive win. Today is Friday which means it's the fans chance to come on and talk any and everything Avalanche. Today, Avs fan Sarah Speights is featured and we cover a wide range of topics including her being a season ticket holder as well as her involvement with women's hockey in the Denver area. My how quickly people want to move on. Gerard Gallant getting his walking papers from the Golden Knights didn't help the small but loud cries for the Avalanche to do the same with Jared Bednar. I talk about why that will never happen and to think it will is ridiculous. We look at this week Power Rankings across the web and preview tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks in which, oddly enough, the Avs should try and avoid being on the Power Play. Another 3rd period, another blown lead. This one hurt. The Avs played a hard game but lose to the Stars in OT. Reports have hit the news wire that the Avalanche might be in the market for Henrik Lundqvist if he would be willing to waive his no trade clause. Did I say we didn't need a goalie? I still don't, but Hank would be difficult to pass up. Tune in and subscribe!

NHL.com did an article about the Nathan MacKinnon and the determination and drive he has as a professional, and his golf game is a prime example. Gabriel Landeskog and Coach Bednar discuss what they feel the problems are currently for the Avs, and we preview the big game tonight against Dallas. Tune in and subscribe!

Cale Makar is having a season for the rookie ages. So naturally he gets the shaft when it comes to being selected to the All-Star game for a player who plays for the city in which it's being held. Conspiracy? Also, sure the Avs are in a funk. So do we dump everyone including the coaches and start over!? No. Let's take a seat and talk about it. Tune in and subscribe!

Aaron Musick joins the show for the very first installment of Fandom Friday. Each Friday I will invite an Avalanche fan on for a segment to just talk about our team. Aaron talks about his history of fandom with the Avalanche, how he feels the team is doing this year and where he thinks they are headed for the remainder of the season. Aaron also talks about a couple of his most prized Avalanche possessions (which are pretty impressive). Tune in and subscribe! And if you want to be featured on Fandom Friday e-mail the show at [email protected]

A night after being shut out by a former teammate, a rookie playing in his first game shut down the leagues highest scoring team. Nazem Kadri shows why you might want to think twice about hitting his teammates, and ask Gabe Landeskog why the Avs do't have a 3rd period comeback this year and you won't like the answer.
