The Boston Bruins shook of a loss to Carolina on Wednesday by beating the Ottawa Senators in overtime on Thursday.

Brad Marchand is now 5th all time in Bruins goals after the OT winner.

Boston did couch up a 2-0 lead after being called for a slew of penatlies, and David Pastrnak not playing in OT maybe signals it's a good time for the bye week.

But first, a Saturday matinee against the reeling Philadelphia Flyers.

Despite captain Brad Marchand's efforts, the Boston Bruins lost to the Carolina Hurricanes last night, ending a 9-game point streak.

A new line of Marchand, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic looked dynamic, but Linus Ullmark couldn't stop Jordan Martinook's late breakaway attempt.

No rest, thiough, as the Bruins are back in action tonight in Ottawa.

Plus, where does Charlie McAvoy rank among Norris Trophy favorites?

The Boston Bruins are one of the top teams heading into tonight's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Their surprising success begs us to wonder what's more likely: Going all in at the trade deadline or standing pat? A first-round exit or a Stanley Cup win?

Locked on Bruins host Ian McLaren breaks down the scenarios before previewing a tilt with the Canes at TD Garden tonight.

Nobody expected the Boston Bruins to be the top team in the NHL last season, and the expectations for 2023-24 were even lower.

Yet the Bruins are #1 this morning in point percentage after a huge win over the Winnipeg Jets. and Charlie Coyle's emergence as a legit top line center has been key to that rise.

Jakub Lauko and Jake DeBrusk also chipped in a remained hot as Jim Montgomery pushes the right lineup buttons.

Boston's underlying numbers don't scream Stanley Cup contender, but they're getting the job done and it's a credit to coaching, an every man up approach, and goaltending.

What a night for the Boston Bruins offense. 16 of 18 players recorded points in a 9-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens, highlighted by Danton Heinen's first career hat trick.

Allowing 4 goals to Montreal is a bit concerning, though, and perhaps it was just some rust from Brandon Carlo (who scored, mind you), Derek Forbort, and Linus Ullmark, all of whom returned from injury.

John Beecher and Mason Lohrei were sent back to the AHL on Saturday, but it's a case of asset management and they'll be back at some point.

Up next: a MASSIVE game against the Winnipeg Jets to begin their pre-bye week.

The day after David Pastrnak wasn't included in the Top 10 in Locked on Hart Trophy voting, we're talking about an MVP level performance in a statement win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Pastrnak recorded 3 goals in the win, with Jakub Lauko and Jake DeBrusk chiopping in to round out the 3 Stars.

Up next is an Eras game against the Montreal Canadiens, which is previewed after an update on Milan Lucic.

Locked On hosts voted on Hart Trophy Power Rankings this week and David Pastrnak is outside the top 10.

This is inexplicable considering the numbers he's putting up in the post-Patrice Bergeron / David Krejci era and a rotating cast of linemates.

The Atlantic Division Power Rankings are also updated, and the Boston Bruins have successfully jumped back on top of the Florida Panthers.

Up next: a big game tonight against the Colorado Avalanche, and the possible returns of Linus Ullmark and Brandon Carlo.

Jeremy Swayman is backing up his recent talk about arbitration hearings with strong play, highlighted by a shutout win over the New Jersey Dervils on Monday. Again he was asked about the experience on Monday, and his response was "I want the net every night. And that’s what I want my teammates to know, that’s what I want my coaches to know, it’s what I want this organization to know."

David Pastrnak loves his confidence, and Swayman is going to get paid, but will it mean breaking up the tandem with Linus Ullmark?

Swayman was among the Locked on Bruins 3 Stars of the Game, along with Nico Daws and Trent Frederic.

And where do the Bruins currently rank among the top 5 teams? Let's discuss in the weekly Cup check!
