Vitaly Kravtsov Re-Signs with the Canucks | Rebound Season Incoming? + SummerSlam in Vegas Was Real

The Vancouver Canucks have officially re-signed Vitaly Kravtsov to a one-year deal—and the question now is: Can he finally break through? In this episode of Locked On Canucks, we dive into Kravtsov’s return to Vancouver, what it means for the team’s bottom six, and why a quiet, low-risk deal like this could actually turn into a steal.

Once a top-10 pick with elite puck skills and KHL pedigree, Kravtsov hasn’t lived up to expectations in the NHL—but that might change this season. With improved structure under Adam Foote and a clearer role in the lineup, there’s a real shot at a rebound campaign.

Plus, Kyle checks in from Las Vegas, where he witnessed WWE’s SummerSlam live—and yeah, wrestling might not be “fake” after all when you see it up close. From flying elbows to shoot promos, Vegas turned into the squared circle of truth.

This episode is packed with:

🔥 Kravtsov’s new contract breakdown

🔥 Why the Canucks believe there’s still upside

🔥 Roster implications + cap hits

🔥 Kyle’s take on Roman Reigns, LA Knight & the realest moments from SummerSlam

Hit subscribe for your daily dose of Canucks insight, roster moves, and surprise wrestling crossovers.

You could argue that Thatcher Demko and Elias Pettersson are the two most important players for the Vancouver Canucks next season.

Yes...we know Quinn Hughes is the Canucks BEST player, but everyone expects him to be brilliant.

There are a lot more question marks with the 2024's Vezina runner up, and "The Alien," who received Hart votes in 2023 and has made the NHL All-Star Game in four of his seven NHL seasons.

Beggsy and Bhawan break down the cases for which player has the better chance of stepping up for the Canucks next season on the latest episode of Locked On Canucks.

Oh, so now the rest of the NHL is paying attention to Quinn Hughes.

Vancouver Canucks fans and those with the West Coast bias know all about the best defenceman in the NHL. The Least Coast? Not so much.

But here we are in late July, and New York Islanders forward Mat Barzal is throwing some subtle shade at the Canucks superstar.

The lesson? Now that Jim Rutherford has stirred the pot, the rest of the NHL has Quinn Hughes on the mind.

Beggsy and Bhawan talk about that along with updates on the Canucks' next move and Braden Cootes.

It's the biggest transaction in Vancouver sports history...or is it?

And no, we're not talking about Pavel Zacha to the Canucks.

German football legend Thomas Mueller is joining the Vancouver Whitecaps. Is this transaction bigger than any other that has happened in Vancouver Canucks history? Bigger than bringing Pavel Bure to Vancouver? Bigger than drafting the Sedin twins?

We'll touch on that and break down the Canucks interest in Pavel Zacha, and what the potential cost to acquire him would be.

With the puck on his stick, there aren't many guys that are as electric as Vancouver Canucks forward, Nils Hoglander.

So, after five NHL seasons, why hasn't he put it together yet?

Is 2025-26 the year that he'll do so for the Vancouver Canucks? Or will the Canucks trade him before he gets the chance to have a breakout season.

Beggsy and Bhawan dive deep into Hoglander's outlook, talk about waiver wire fodder and more on the latest episode of Locked On Canucks.

Should the Canucks Pay Big for Mason McTavish or Play It Safe with Jack Roslovic?

Is it time for the Vancouver Canucks to take a swing for the fences? In this episode of Locked On Canucks, we explore the high-risk, high-reward potential of trading for Mason McTavish versus the safer, more affordable route of signing UFA Jack Roslovic.

We dig into:

🔥 Why McTavish might be worth a top prospect or first-rounder

🔥 Roslovic’s fit, ceiling, and current contract talks with Vancouver

🔥 The cost of playing it safe vs. building around a 22-year-old power center

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has a choice to make. Which path will lead the franchise closer to the Stanley Cup?

On the latest episode of Locked On Canucks, Beggsy and Bhawan talk about the possibility of the Canucks acquiring the next Miller or Brandon Hagel.
