The Anaheim Ducks are in a bind.
They've been in a bind ever since the Leo Carlsson extension. With August coming to a close, the pressure should be building in Anaheim.
Beggsy explores how the Canucks need to put aside their budget concerns and try to take advantage of an Anaheim team with some major cap issues.
He also looks at the Pacific Division in general, and examines why the Canucks could be in a four-way battle for the worst spot in the division.
Beggsy also looks at players who abandoned the team mid-season, in honour of Alex Burmistrov's return to North America.

The Vancouver Canucks have a project on their hands.
Unlike the Calgary Flames, there are some veterans who could potentially be traded.
But, for most of them, they have to rectify their trade value.
On the latest episode of Locked On Canucks, Beggsy and Bhawan talk about trade candidates among Canucks veterans, and strategize how the Canucks can get the most out of them to turn those guys into actual trade chips.
They also get into what Jim Rutherford's legacy in Vancouver is, on the heels on him getting honoured by his former team.

We'll compare the Canucks and Flames from top to bottom — their young talent, prospects, veterans, goaltending, defense, coaching, management and overall direction.

So what was Vancouver trying to accomplish?
We'll break down the trade that almost happened, what Vancouver was willing to give up, why Ottawa ultimately said no, and what it tells us about the Canucks' approach to rebuilding through the draft.

In today's Locked On Canucks episode, we're looking at one of the most intriguing free agents still available and asking a simple question:
Should the Vancouver Canucks be targeting Eeli Tolvanen?
Tolvanen remains unsigned after completing his two-year contract with the Seattle Kraken, and after putting up 36 points in 78 games last season, the 27-year-old winger could be one of the most interesting value additions still sitting on the market.
The Finnish winger brings exactly the type of elements Vancouver could use: offensive ability, a proven NHL shot, versatility on the wing, and a willingness to play a physical game. He also finished second among Seattle forwards in hits last season, showing that his game isn't simply about scoring.
So why is Tolvanen still available?
We'll discuss whether there's an opportunity for the Canucks to take advantage of the market and potentially sign a player who could provide legitimate middle-six scoring without breaking the bank.
Could Tolvanen fit alongside Vancouver's top players? Could he become a power-play weapon? And could the Canucks eventually turn a short-term signing into a trade-deadline asset if the season doesn't go according to plan?
👇 IN THIS VIDEO:
✔ Why Eeli Tolvanen remains one of the best UFAs available
📈 KEY SEARCH TERMS:
Eeli Tolvanen
The Canucks don't necessarily need another superstar. They need smart additions that make the roster deeper, harder to play against, and more dangerous offensively.
Eeli Tolvanen might check a lot of those boxes.

It's something that most Vancouver Canucks fans believe won't happen.
But, is Elias Pettersson finally about to prove everybody wrong?
On the latest episode of Locked On Canucks, Beggsy and Bhawan talk about the one area of Pettersson's game that has quietly improved over the past couple of seasons. And no, we're not talking about shot blocks.
The boys also look at the backup goalie battle, a sneaky Canucks trade candidate, and a former Canucks prospect who's finally about to become a full-time NHLer.

In today's Locked On Canucks episode, we're discussing what may be the biggest boom-or-bust storyline surrounding the Vancouver Canucks heading into the new season:
Is Filip Chytil the most volatile player in the entire NHL?
When healthy, Chytil has shown he can be a dynamic, play-driving center with top-six talent. His speed, skill, and ability to create offense make him one of Vancouver's most exciting players. But after multiple concussions throughout his career, every shift comes with uncertainty. His lengthy concussion history has already cost him significant time over the past several seasons, making his availability one of the biggest questions facing the Canucks.
We'll explore whether Chytil represents the widest range of outcomes in the league. Could he stay healthy and score 60-plus points while becoming a difference-maker down the middle? Or does his concussion history make him one hit away from another extended absence? That's the difficult reality the Canucks have to navigate.
👇 IN THIS VIDEO:
✔ Is Filip Chytil the NHL's biggest X-factor?
📈 KEY SEARCH TERMS:
Vancouver Canucks
Few players in the NHL have a wider range of outcomes than Filip Chytil. His talent has never really been the question—his ability to stay healthy has. If Chytil can finally put together a full season, he could become one of the biggest steals in the league. If injuries strike again, the Canucks will once again be forced to adjust on the fly.
💬 Let us know:
Do you think Filip Chytil is the NHL's most volatile player? And what would you consider a successful season for him if he stays healthy?
