The Boston Celtics got themselves into a little bit of a mess by falling into a matchup with the Atlanta Hawks, but that doesn't mean this is an impossible series. In fact, it should be a pretty tough one for both teams. And while John and Jay see this going differently, there are some potential playoff heroes who could emerge for the Boston Celtics. From Jonas Jerebko, to Marcus Smart to Evan Turner, the guys see a lot of potential for difference-makers to step up and change the course of this series.

The Celtics quest for the third seed is probably over, which means the focus is now on preserving home court and winning that 4th seed by beating Charlotte and Miami to end the season.

John and Jay talk about Isaiah Thomas' struggles against Atlanta, why the Hawks are now a very dangerous team, and who they'd rather see when the playoffs begin next weekend.

Plus, we thank Phoenix for not being as terrible as Brooklyn, we lament the end of the Hinke era in Philly, and we run through your Twitter questions... which include our favorite lineups, reality vs. expectations, and a culinary tour around Boston.

John and Jay react to the Boston Celtics ending the Golden State Warriors home winning streak. Among the topics discussed: Isaiah Thomas' insane third quarter (and continuation of his amazing post-All Star play), Avery Bradley's amazing defense, Evan Turner's clutch 4th quarter, and Marcus Smart's positive impact despite his poor recent shooting.

All that, and your Twitter questions answered! Enjoy the show #Celtics #BostonCeltics #RaininJs

That time he almost fought Michael Jordan..

Recorded fresh off a win that snapped a 4-game losing streak, John and Jay discuss how the Jae Crowder injury doesn't just hurt the team because he's good, but also because of where in the season it fell.

Also a problem for Boston... Marcus Smart's shooting, which has tumbled to perilous new lows.

Plus... how much money will Jared Sullinger really get this summer? Who might the Celtics target in the draft? Will the current rookies get any chance to make and impact? And Kevin Durant is totally not coming to Boston... except he totally is.. unless he isn't. But he is.

It's a bonus edition of the Rainin' J's Podcast as ESPN NBA Analyst Tim Legler joins John for a quick discussion about the Celtics, how attractive they are to free agents, what culture means in this world of analytics, and why Brad Stevens deserves his reputation as one of the NBA's great coaches so soon into his career.

The Paul Pierce & Antoine Walker of podcasting (you'll get it when you listen) return after a tough loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers to discuss whether this loss is a hint of playoff troubles to come. Yes, the Celtics did just have a big win streak, and yes, Kelly Olynyk is still not back yet, but the C's have a tough schedule coming up and we could learn a LOT about this team in the coming weeks.

Also discussed... how the Celtics relative health has been influenced by a new approach aimed at maximizing rest and recovery, and how THAT plays into Boston being really attractive to NBA free agents.

All that and one more reminder that everything is David Lee's fault. Enjoy the show. #Boston Celtics #Celtics #RaininJs

Sean Deveney of The Sporting News joins the show this week to discuss some of the things the Celtics were trying to accomplish at the trade deadline and what they might accomplish moving forward. We look at the team's more long-term goals, as well as some of the changes that might be made around the NBA as a whole.

In addition to that, John and Jay discuss Isaiah Thomas as a recruiter in free agency, would we trade the Brooklyn pick if it was #1 overall, and why the Celtics won't be playing any of the young guys anytime soon.

Plus, we spend a little time marveling at the awesome spectacle that was OKC-Golden State and trying to figure out if Steph Curry is actually human. And John rants about the way some of the local media handle themselves.

The show's a little longer this time, but we hope you enjoy it all. #BostonCeltics #Celtics #RaininJs
