The New York Islanders currently have five proven NHL centers on their roster in Bo Horvat, Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson, J.G. Pageau and Casey Cizikas. The Isles can solve this problem by moving one of these players to the wing or by trading one of them to free up cap space and helping this team to get that puck moving defeseman or goal scoring winger they need.

We explore which players are most likely to change positions and which players can possibly be traded and what it could do for the Isles.

Plus we look at Robin Salo's season and his future with the Isles. Can he get his career back on track in 2023-24?

All that and more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.

Plus, the Isles finally get a little respect from the national media covering the NHL and we take a look at Dennis Cholowski's season and possible future with the team as we continue our player by player look at the Isles roster.

The NHL buyout period begins today so the question remains, will the New York Islanders buy out the final year of Josh Bailey's contract or will GM Lou Lamoriello find a trading partner to take some or all of Bailey's $5 million cap hit off the Isles hands. We look at the three options the team has and discuss which course would be the best.

Also, which potential RFAs will get qualifying offers from the Isles. Parker Wotherspoon, Bode Wilde and Oliver Wahlstrom are the potential RFAs. We also discuss a former Isles player who did not receiver a qualifying offer from his current team and will now be an unrestricted free agent.

And we continue our player by player look at the Isles roster with Andy Andreoff. What was his season like both in the NHL and at Bridgeport and what is his future role with the Islanders.
