New York Islanders forward Oliver Wahlstrom and AHL goalie Jakub Skarek did not sign their tender offers by Saturday's 5:00 PM ET deadline. So what happens next for these two players? We discuss the impact this has on their future with the Islanders on today's show.

Plus, we discuss some too-early predictions national writers are making about the upcoming season concerning the Isles and goalie Ilya Sorokin which seem to contradict each other and still shows how little respect the Isles get from the national media.

And we remember one of the greatest single-game performances in NHL history as part of a very special Islanders Birthday of the Day for Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier.

Today we examine the New York Islanders organizational depth chart and you may be surprised that there may not be room for some of the players who played roles last season? Who takes over on the third line if Zach Parise retires? Does Oliver Wahlstrom move to left wing? Or Hudson Fasching?

Is there room for Simon Holmstrom in the lineup or should he start the season in Bridgeport? What about Julien Gauthier or Cal Clutterbuck?

Plus, the Bridgeport Islanders made it official and hired a new head coach, we discuss that and a lot more on today's Locked On Islanders Podcast with Gil Martin.

Former New York Islanders goalie Thomas Greiss announced his retirement from the NHL on Wednesday. We discuss Greiss' legacy from his five seasons with the Isles. He had some real clutch moments in the playoffs and won a Jennings Trophy with the team, the first time the Isles won it since Billy Smith and Roland Melanson did in 1983.

We also discuss Josh Bailey's potential path back to the Isles, but not as a player. Would Bailey be willing to be an assistant coach either with the big club or the Bridgeport Islanders to help the power play?

Plus we further discuss the coaching vacancy in Bridgeport and tell who is likely to get the job and why.

Plus a deadline approaches this Saturday for restricted free agent Oliver Wahlstrom. We'll discuss his value and future with the Islanders or as part of a trade as he was supposedly part of the Alex DeBrincat offer along with J.G. Pageau.

And we answer your questions about the team as we dig into the mailbag.
