A homer to start the game, and a grand-slam robbery were all apart of Fernando Tatis Jr's night as the New York Mets fell to the San Diego Padres 5-2.
Tatis wasted little time, taking Zac Thornton's first pitch of the game deep to put the Padres up front. Thornton allowed another homer to Tatis in the 5th, accounting for all three runs on his ledger. That wasn't the only way Tatis impacted this one. He also robbed Francisco Lindor of an opposite field grand slam in the 2nd that would have given the Mets the lead.
As a team the Mets were 0-for-11 with RISP and left nine men on base. The series is now split, and Robert Stock will go tomorrow for the Mets hoping to get a series win.
POSTCAST host Chris Schubert breaks down the Mets winning streak getting snapped at 4.

The New York Mets stayed hot Sunday afternoon, finishing off a sweep of the Washington Nationals for their ninth win from their last 12 games.
Christian Scott ALMOST had a career day, pitching in the 7th inning for the first time this season and was just two outs away from finishing 7 innings for the first time in his career. It was still a quality outing for Scott, striking out 7 over 6.1 innings of work.
The offense was the Luis Torrens show early. His two run homer in the 4th put the Mets in front and they stayed in front the rest of the way. Kodai Senga protected a one run lead to pick up his third save in his third opportunity.
POSTCAST host Chris Schubert breaks down the Sunday afternoon win for the Mets.
