Locked On Mets - Daily Podcast On The New York Mets

The New York Yankees landed Juan Soto in a trade last night. If Soto eventually re-signs with the Yankees, who is the next superstar the Mets will be able to sign?

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the repercussions of Soto landing with the Yankees and how it could take him off the board for the Mets next year in free agency.

Also, if the Yankees are all-in on Yoshinobu Yamamoto too, how much should the Mets pay to keep him from the Bronx?

Finally, if all else fails and the Mets come up empty in their pursuit of an impact-free agent, should they go ahead and extend Pete Alonso?

The New York Mets are active in free agency trying to improve their starting pitching but don't expect them to pivot to the trade market if they can't land their top guy, Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

According to a Mets insider Andy Martino, the Mets are hesitant to deal from their farm system to make a blockbuster trade this offseason.

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down how the Mets will have to build out their roster without use of the trade market, and how the Mets can get aggressive in free agency.

The New York Mets have been very quiet so far this offseason. When will we see new president David Stearns strike to make his first big move?

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down when the Mets could finally make a signing in free agency and how much things are being held up by top free agent starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Ryan wonders if the Mets could miss the market if they put all their eggs in Yamamoto's basket while comparing this offseason to last year and how the pace of free agency is very similar.
