Opening day of the spring transfer portal brought unexpected news: Punter Jack McCallister is leaving Nebraska. But should it actually come as that much of a surprise? The Nebraska defense took the stage Tuesday in Lincoln. We heard from defensive coordinator John Butler, who’s growing comfortable in his role during this first full offseason with the Huskers. We heard from Ceyair Wright, the cornerback who’s leading a big group that’s taken a step forward in man coverage this spring, according to coaches.
