Locked On is celebrating it's ten year anniversary and that makes it a perfect time to look at a TOP TEN rankings in the NFL! The Los Angeles Rams are clearly the top team, but Alaric Jackson's situation could ruin that status. The Seattle Seahawks still see themselves as the top team even if we don't. In Denver, the Broncos have built a great roster and should get more respect in these rankings than they seem to elsewhere. The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens are in similar boats as teams with high expectations and dangerous situations. Teams at the backend of the rankings are trying to fight their way back up like the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions. However, a team like the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots could potentially make the biggest argument for being under-ranked if all goes well.

The San Francisco 49ers need to release Brandon Aiyuk and end the drama surrounding the situation if they hope to end their championship drought the way the New York Knicks did this weekend. Continuing to hold Aiyuk out of spite is not a smart business decision, even if he immediately goes to the Washington Commanders. The Commanders could use another target though and would welcome Aiyuk as they try to win their first trophy since the 1990's. The Chicago Bears are trying to end their drought, but to do it this season, Caleb Williams will need to break the "Madden Curse." While the Las Vegas Raiders will need their young quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, will need to be worth the draft pick to set up a Super Bowl window in Sin City. Two teams in the AFC East are in the midst of the longest droughts in the NFL: the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Jets need their coach, Aaron Glenn, to be worthy of keeping around and the Phins will need Malik Willis to step up and be a big playmaker for years to come.

George Pickens shines bright for the Dallas Cowboys, drawing comparisons to Randy Moss and fueling debate on whether he or CeeDee Lamb deserves top receiver status. Tony Wiggins, Matt Williamson, and Marcus Mosher break down Pickens’ maturity, practice habits, and the looming contract decisions that could shape the Cowboys’ future. Is Pickens’ breakout for real, or will inconsistent performances hold him back?
Elsewhere, the Green Bay Packers bet big on Christian Watson despite durability concerns, while Ben Johnson’s Chicago Bears offense evolves around Caleb Williams’ dual-threat talent. The episode explores Atlanta Falcons’ identity crisis amid quarterback uncertainty and questions whether the Philadelphia Eagles’ growing pains are merely preseason jitters or early warning signs. Plus, concerns grow over the Detroit Lions’ revamped offensive line and its ability to protect the NFC contender’s playoff aspirations.

The Kansas City Chiefs got a massive new deal done with Patrick Mahomes this week, but new money doesn't mean new wins and things are looking like the Chiefs current iteration will never win a title again. We may see an extension for Lamar Jackson soon as the Baltimore Ravens try to get ahead of his free agency, but Jackson should not sign early and see how his new coaching staff handles things. From elite to unproven, Shedeur Sanders is trying to grab back the starting quarterback job for the Cleveland Browns and this week and mandatory mini-camp he took his first steps to doing so. Cam Ward is looking to take the next step with the Tennessee Titans, but there have been struggles early. This is a common occurrence for young passers though and shouldn't be cause for concern. Kyler Murray is looking to get his career back on track with the Minnesota Vikings, but they don't seem to be making him as comfortable in that process as he would like. Finally, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback situation is one of the more interesting in the NFL, but Tua Tagovialoa has a big advantage on Michael Penix.
