There's a new coaching staff in Carolina but there are plenty of returning players on the Carolina Panthers roster that were brought in by the previous coaching staff. Meaning, their roles could diminish or increase under new head coach Frank Reich. Of those players drafted by Matt Rhule, which of them should step into key roles under Reich, and which are in danger of being cut from the roster come August?

Julian Council answers this question among other listener questions in this week's edition of the Weekly Friday Mailbag.

Following the trade of top receiver DJ Moore, the Carolina Panthers have rebuilt their wide receiver room throughout the offseason adding veteran slot Adam Thielen, former Pro Bowler DJ Chark, along with drafting rookie Jonathan Mingo out of Ole Miss. Despite the new additions, the Panthers still lack a true No. 1 receiving threat.

Enter DeAndre Hopkins. The All-Pro receiver officially became available Tuesday afternoon after being cut by the Arizona Cardinals. Julian Council breaks down why Hopkins is a free agent, his potential fit in Carolina, and whether it makes sense for Hopkins and Carolina to come to make a deal.

The Carolina Panthers felt so strongly about Bryce Young that they were willing to give up a future first and second-round pick, including No. 1 wide receiver DJ Moore in order to trade up to the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Panthers owner David Tepper confirmed their great belief in Young when he said on draft night that among the available quarterbacks in the draft Young gave the franchise the best probability to win multiple Super Bowl championships.

No rookie quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl, so the expectations probably shouldn't be attached to Young this year. But what are realistic expectations for Young? Julian Council answers this among other listener questions in this week's edition of the Weekly Friday Mailbag.
