It was a dominant performance from the start with limiting the Oilers high danger chances, where Florida was able to dictate the tempo, with the Panthers counterattacking with disrupting plays in the neutral zone. Sam Reinhart got on the scoresheet four times to become the first Panther to get a playoff hat trick. Florida kept the Oilers to forcing their shots to the point where Sergei Bobrovsky was able to see pucks easily through screens, and able to make two big stops on quick odd man rushes on Corey Perry. The two discuss Sam Bennett winning the Conn Smythe after scoring 15 goals in the postseason, which he is on the same echelon as Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin in their Stanley Cup runs. Bennett is a pending UFA, and the two discuss the report of what he could sign for and how important it is for both sides to stay together beyond this season. The two also chat how the Stanley Cup was passed around as it was the guys who had not won the Cup until Tuesday night were the ones to get it after Captain Aleksander Barkov, what does that say about the leadership of the group? On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Frank Forte(@FrankForte) to the show to break down the Panthers 5-2 win in game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. The two break down the Panthers 5-4 OT loss at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers, where the Panthers blew a 3-0 lead after the first period. Florida chased Stuart Skinner and once Calvin Pickard was between the pipes, the Oilers turned it on from there and flipped the script. Three goals in the second period by Edmonton, and it was a new hockey game. The Oilers continued their scoring in the third as they even took the lead, but the Cats scored with the extra attacker with 20 seconds left in the third to force overtime, but although the Panthers controlled play in the extra period, a little miscommunication from the long change resulted in the Oilers going up the ice and Leon Draisaitl ending it for his third goal of the series. Matthew Tkachuk scored his first power play goal(s) since round one, but the Panthers couldn't continues on their pressure on the forecheck after period one, and Edmonton's speed game helped them generating a whole bunch on Sergei Bobrovsky.
