Now that the Penguins have back-to-back picks in the first round, who should their two selections be? Patrick and Hunter begin the show discussing a massive defenseman in Radim Mrkta, who could be a solution on the Penguins' blue line and will likely be available at 11th or 12th. The 6'6" blueliner might not be the flashiest prospect, but he does a lot of things right and could be a steady presence for the Pens long-term. Then, they shift the focus to forward, where another rat-style player who plays physical, goes to the net, and could be an asset on the power play in Carter Bear. Finally, they shift back to defense and discuss Jackson Smith, a smooth-skating D-man who plays a higher-risk, but higher-reward kind of game.

The Penguins, as of now, will have back-to-back draft picks in the 2025 NHL Draft, officially getting the Rangers’ first-round pick. Hunter and Patrick begin the show discussing the latest on trade rumors surrounding Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell. The situation for the Penguins with these two forwards is unique as the Penguins hold most of the leverage, so when and should they trade them? Then, the New York Rangers made it official on Tuesday morning, announcing they have informed the Penguins and the league that they will give the Penguins the 12th overall pick in this year’s draft. Finally, they look at two more potential picks in defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson and forward Brady Martin.

We've made it to NHL Draft week, and the Penguins have a lot of decisions to make! Penguins President of Hockey Operations Kyle Dubas said the team could look at trading for and signing RFAs, and a pretty promising one could be available. Patrick and Hunter start the show discussing the possibility of the Penguins going after Dallas Stars' forward Mavrik Bourque, who could be available via trade after Dallas re-signed Matt Duchene. Bourque seems to fit exactly the type of player Dubas and the Penguins have been targeting: young, affordable, and with a lot of upside. Then, we get the first two installments of Hunter's Penguins Draft Board. They first talk about maybe their favorite prospect, Victor Eklund, a Swedish forward who would be a slam-dunk pick for the Penguins. Then, to finish the show, they talk about Lynden Lakovic and how he would be a stretch at 11, but still not a bad pick.
