Locked On Saints - Daily Podcast On The New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara named the #2 RB by ESPN ahead of the 2021 season. Is the ranking a good one? Who ranks above him? And with two days left until a massively important deadline for the team, how soon could we see a Marcus Williams extension get done?

Twitter Tuesday looks at offseason awards, Richard Sherman news, and much more followed by great questions from the Locked On Saints Facebook group including who starts next to Cameron Jordan at defensive end, which jerseys we'd like to see back, and who will score the first touchdown for the Saints in 2021.

And, what would be the worst offseason move for the New Orleans Saints ahead of the 2021 NFL season.

Recapping the losses and additions at cornerback for the New Orleans Saints. As Janoris Jenkins leaves, could any of the incoming options take the spot opposite Marshon Lattimore?

Beyond Lattimore, the Saints also return five more players at the position from last season. The veterans and youngsters that will get a shot to make the roster in 2021.

If a player makes the roster next season that's not currently on the team, who could it be and where should the Saints look? They'll benefit from not only considering 2021, but the future beyond as well.

ESPN has put our four defensive position top ten lists so far and the New Orleans Saints have had a player named on three. Which were named at what positions and why David Onyemata was absolutely snubbed. And, with Safeties still on the way, will Marcus Williams make the cut?

Top three Thursday takes a look at three players that impressed in training camp, but didn't make the active roster as well as three players to watch closely to become camp darlings this summer. Will they be able to buck the trend and do enough to make the cut?

Midweek Fundamentals kicks off the show with a brief explanation of how restructuring contracts work and the use of voidable years on contract. Two very common practices for the New Orleans Saints explained with quarters! Also, why Taysom Hill isn't really on a four-year $140M contract.

Here's why the Saints should consider a trade for New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry. They don't need him to be a number one, their system is wide receiver friendly, and there's very little risk. Breaking down why all of these things are true and should push the Saints to at least inquiring for the former first round receiver.

Mike D'Abate of Locked On Patriots and Patriots Maven joins to talk about what's led to Harry and his agent requesting a trade, whether or not the Saints' system could better utilize him, and what it would cost to get the receiver in a trade.

A look at the changes throughout the safety position ahead of New Orleans Saints 2021 training camp. Who the Saints lost this offseason, who they added, and who they retained at the most steady position on the team.

Which players will fill out Safety around Marcus Williams and Malcolm Jenkins in 2021? Can any of the young UDFAs find a way to break through?

Brandon Olsen of Locked On Gators joins to talk about his favorite Florida Gator C.J. Gardner-Johnson. What role Ceedy Duce held in Gainesville and how it compares to his role in New Orleans. And why the "character concerns" that led to his drop in the 2019 draft likely shouldn't have been the biggest deal.

The New Orleans Saints have double-digit linebackers heading into camp ahead of the 2021 NFL season. Along with Demario Davis, the returning players may have an advantage, but a couple of new faces could fight their way on to the roster themselves. Who's departed, who's been added, and who returns to the second level of the Saints' defense.

Behind Demario Davis are a lot of young and talented 'backers. Which will fill out the Saints' roster as we preview the position before training camp. Rookie Pete Werner and second-year player Zack Baun feel like locks. Could Kaden Elliss take on the top special teams role vacated by Craig Robertson? Will Kwon Alexander make a return? Who will be the biggest surprises at this position?

Joe Marino of The Draft Network, Draft Dudes, and Locked On Bills joins to talk about how the Saints have been so successful in the NFL Draft as of late. Why the "best player available" approach works, and what he sees in the selections of Payton Turner and Pete Werner.
