With the 2024 draft class additions, how does the San Jose Sharks prospect pool stack up, and where does each member rank? Start by examining how the prospects ranked before the 2024 NHL Draft and who missed the top ten cut, including first-round pick David Edstrom. Then, where do Filip Bystedt and Igor Chernyshov fit into the rankings, and if I might be too low on Chernyshov? Next, Danil Gushchin's place in the top 10, how Kasper Halttunen has continued to grow his game, Luca Cagnoni's next step, and Shakir Mukhamadullin is ready to graduate. Finish up with the top four, and where does Sam Dickinson rank among the forwards Quentin Musty, Will Smith, and Macklin Celebrini?

After Mike Grier's busy offseason, where does the San Jose Sharks roster currently sit? A breakdown of players who are locks to make the roster, who should make it, and who is fighting for their jobs at each position. Start with the forwards and why Macklin Celebrini most likely makes the roster, but there is a very small chance he starts with the San Jose Barracuda. As well as why Thomas Bordeleau could be on the outside looking in for a roster spot. Then, move to the defense and how the addition of Jake Walman changes the dynamic and which young players will need a great training camp to make the roster. Plus, why is the goaltending pretty cut and dry with Mackenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek? Finally, who makes the 23-man roster, and what do the lines look like with and without Logan Couture?

Where should the 2024-25 San Jose Sharks see improvement, and where could there be regression? Start with why the Sharks' offense could see tangible improvement this season, thanks to the increase in offensive talent from Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, and Tyler Toffoli. Then, after the Sharks' penalty kill finished near the bottom of the league, they could see a big rebound this season. With the additions of Barclay Goodrow, Alex Wennberg, and Ty Dellandrea, the Sharks penalty kill could see an improvement with Ryan Warsofsky's new scheme. Finally, the Sharks saw good goaltending despite the team in front of Kappo Kahkonen and Mackenzie Blackwood. Could there be a regression with Vitek Vanecek entering the fray?

Fabian Zetterlund had a breakout season for the San Jose Sharks and is entering the last season of his current contract. What are some comparable contracts if the Sharks wanted to lock up Zetterlund long-term? Start by looking at Zetterlund's production from 2023-24 and what ESPN is projecting for Zetterlund to do in the 2024-25 season. Examine Seattle Kraken Eeli Tolvanen's new contract and compare production between Tolvanen and Zetterlun. Then, while Alexis Lafrenière is a more skilled player than Zetterlund, their production is similar. How could Lafrenière's upcoming contract affect Zetterlund's? Next, Joel Farabee and Fabian Zetterlund have had similar production. Should Farabee's contract provide a template? Finally, try to determine a fair contract for both Zetterlund and the Sharks and why the Sharks should look to lock up Zetterlund long term.

The San Jose Sharks hoped to solve their long-term blueline issues by selecting Sam Dickinson with the 11th overall pick. Analyze what makes Dickinson such an intriguing prospect for the Sharks by diving into his game tape. Start with how Dickinson already uses his size and frame so well as a young player, plus his ability to defend and join the rush at such a high level. Then, examine the biggest area that Dickinson needs to work on: his decision-making under pressure. Discuss some examples in Dickinson's game where this issue arises and how he can work on fixing it. Finally, explore when Dickinson could make the NHL, how Oliver Bonk could impact it, and the Sharks' options next year.
