Syracuse Orange Football will have a different looking roster in 2025. The Orange kept their big three coaches: Fran Brown, Jeff Nixon, and Elijah Robinson. However, Syracuse lost key veterans like Kyle McCord, Oronde Gadsden, LeQuint Allen and others. Syracuse made a big effort to get younger this offseason, bringing in a nation leading 35 high school recruits. Plus, the Orange will have a QB competition for 2025 between: Rickie Collins, Luke Carney, Jakhari Williams and others.

Syracuse Orange Athletics launched a new three-year fundraising campaign called "Champion 'Cuse". The plan is to raise $50 million for Syracuse athletes/coaches and facilities. Syracuse Athletic Director John Wildhack launched the campaign to help the Orange win more games. With that, there's more pressure on Syracuse Basketball Head Coach Adrian Autry to make the NCAA Tournament in 2025-26, assuming he's back.

Syracuse Orange Basketball currently sits on the bubble to make the ACC Tournament, not the NCAA Tournament. Adrian Autry's squad is on pace to have the worst Syracuse Basketball season since 1968-69. However, if the Orange beat NC State on February 26 that should be enough for them to get in the conference tournament. Regardless, Adrian Autry deserves to be on the hot seat even if Syracuse has no intention of firing him.

Syracuse Orange Basketball lost to the Pitt Panthers 80-69 on Tuesday night, despite leading by as much as 16 points in the first half. Adrian Autry's squad was dominated in the second half. JJ Starling struggled from the field and especially from the three-point line. Elijah "Choppa" Moore didn't play with a right leg injury, according to Syracuse Basketball's Twitter account. Moore's status for the next game against NC State is uncertain.

Syracuse Orange Basketball led the Pitt Panthers 22-6 in the first half, but still lost 80-69. Adrian Autry's squad got 23 points from Chris Bell, but nobody else on offense stepped up. JJ Starling had an inefficient 14 points for Syracuse. Nobody else on the team was in double figures. Zack Austin, Ishmael Leggett, Jaland Lowe, and Brandin Cummings each scored 10+ points for Pitt, who remains alive for an NCAA Tournament bid.

Syracuse Orange Football has lost a key member to their coaching staff for the 2025 season. Wide Receiver's Coach and Passing Game Coordinator Ross Douglas has been hired by the Oregon Ducks and Dan Lanning, per CBS Sports Reporter Matt Zenitz. Syracuse Head Coach Fran Brown could replace Douglas with Josh Gattis or Kevin Beard. Douglas helped guide Trebor Pena, Jackson Meeks and Darrell Gill to career seasons in 2024.

Syracuse Orange Basketball battled against North Carolina, but Adrian Autry's squad came up short, losing 88-82. Ian Jackson led Hubert Davis' UNC team with 23 points. Elliot Cadeau scored a crucial layup against Jaquan Carlos to give the Tar Heels a four-point lead late. Eddie Lampkin and JJ Starling combined for 48 points and 18/19 from the free throw line. Syracuse falls to 11-15 overall, 5-10 in the ACC.

Syracuse Orange Football has a number of young players that could breakout in 2025. Three players that stick out are: Jamie Tremble, Emanuel Ross and KingJosepth Edwards. All three of them were four-star recruits in 2024 - the first recruiting class under Syracuse Head Coach Fran Brown. Tremble is expect to be the starting tight-end, replacing Oronde Gadsden, while Ross and Edwards will battle for playing time at their respective positions.

Syracuse Orange Football's 2025 defense should have plenty of competition. Fran Brown's three key leaders project to be Duce Chestnut, Devin Grant and Maraad Watson. Defensive Coordinator Elijah Robinson will have to decide who starts for the Orange along the defensive front.
