The Andy Rowe Show

London Gangster - Marvin Herbert

Listen Later

Having grown up in an abusive family environment, Martin Herbert was resorting to crime from the age of 13 and went on to spend more than 15 years in the UK's toughest prisons for over 76 offences. His violent past saw him get stabbed 23 times and shot 5 times, even losing an eye. He’s now reformed and has turned his attention to making sure that people don’t follow a similar path to him. He’s a motivational speaker, mentor to kids, and has set up a foundation to help turn young offenders lives around, his work taking him all the way to Downing Street. The stories in this episode are extremely violent but offer a rare insight into the UK crime culture and what’s being done to turn the tide. Hope you enjoy the episode.
