  1. Number 1: Laurie Mains On His Rassie Erasmus Feud - And The '95 RWC Poisoning

At the time of publishing this, the All Blacks are back in South Africa for a tour that is being called “Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry” And it’s hard to argue with that. The rivalry between these nations went up a notch at the 1995 world cup when the Springboks beat the All Blacks by 3 points in extra time. In this FastCast, Laurie reflects on that 15–12 defeat at Ellis Park and the controversy surrounding it, including the forward-pass decision that denied Jonah Lomu a potential try and his long-held belief that members of the All Blacks squad were deliberately poisoned before the final. The conversation then turns to Laurie’s bitter falling-out with current Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus. Laurie coached Rassie at the Cats in South Africa during the early 2000s, but their relationship deteriorated amid disagreements over training, fitness, authority and the direction of the team. If you search “Laurie Mains” you can listen top the full 2 hour conversation. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  3. Number 3: Sharyn Casey on Miscarriage, Grief & Walking Away From Radio

By pure coincidence this conversation was recorded exactly 20 years to the day after Sharyn Casey and I first met. Back then, she was 20 years old, wildly ambitious and by her own admission trying far too hard to make everyone like her. Fast forward two decades and Sharyn has walked away from the radio job that shaped her entire adult identity - and she’s figuring out who she is without it. This conversation is funny, honest and, at times, very graphic. Listener discretion is advised. Sharyn Casey is warm, chaotic, vulnerable, self-aware and very bloody funny. AND she is the more comfortable and content in her own skin than I have ever seen her before. At 40 she knows exactly who she is and she is very comfortable with who she is. And I am proud to be able to call her a friend. Check out Sharyn’s pop culture show, A Little Bit Extra: https://www.youtube.com/@ALittleBitExtraPodcast * Huge thanks to the team at Generate. 4. Number 4: “They Called Me An Honorary White” - Sir Bryan Williams on 1970 South Africa Tour

Sir Bryan Williams is one of New Zealand rugby’s most influential figures. He played 113 matches for the All Blacks, including 38 Tests, and later coached Samoa, Auckland and the Hurricanes. He has also served as president of New Zealand Rugby and has been inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame. The man known as Bee Gee was just 19 when he first became an All Black - and because of his Samoan heritage, Bryan could only enter apartheid-era South Africa after being classified as an “honorary white.” It was an appalling label, but declining the tour could have ended his international career before it had properly begun. This Fast Cast has been taken from Sir Bryan’s full appearance on The Dom Harvey Podcast. If you want to hear the complete conversation, search “Sir Bryan Williams” Hosted on Acast. 5. Number 5: Open Champion Ryan Fox’s Hilarious Shane Warne Stories

Welcome to the Fast Cast. A short episode where I go back into the archives and share one memorable moment from a previous conversation. On this Fast Cast: Ryan Fox on Shane Warne. Growing up, Warney was one of Ryan’s sporting idols. Ryan shares how a random text led to them playing golf together, what Warney was really like away from the spotlight, and the shock of hearing about his death. It's a funny and touching look at one of sport’s great characters. Search Ryan Fox on The Dom Harvey Podcast to hear the full conversation. Hosted on Acast.
