Some conversations stay with you long after they're over, and this is one of them.
In today's episode, I sit down with my friend Kathy Rogers, someone I had the privilege of meeting at a retreat a little over a year ago. We were assigned bunk beds in an Airbnb, became instant friends, and over the course of that weekend I heard pieces of her story that left me completely in awe. Kathy has walked through more heartbreak than most people could imagine, yet she radiates a joy, peace, and faith that is impossible to ignore.
After surviving an aggressive battle with breast cancer, Kathy lost her mother to ovarian cancer and then, just months later, walked through the unimaginable loss of her 29-year-old daughter to metastatic breast cancer. Most people would understand if those experiences left someone bitter, angry, or hopeless. Instead, Kathy has chosen a different lens. She has chosen to look for good.
Throughout our conversation we talk about what it really means to trust God, not just when life is easy, but when everything you thought was certain begins to fall apart. We discuss surrender, grief, perspective, emotional healing, and why it's possible for joy and sorrow to exist at the very same time.
One of the things I loved most about our conversation was Kathy's reminder that healing doesn't happen by pretending everything is okay. It happens by allowing ourselves to feel deeply while refusing to become victims of our circumstances. We also talked about the importance of ordinary routines during difficult seasons, why gratitude is a daily practice instead of simply a feeling, and how our perspective ultimately shapes the life we experience.
This episode is full of wisdom that applies whether you're walking through grief, navigating a major transition, building a business through hard circumstances, or simply trying to find peace in a world that often feels overwhelming. My hope is that you'll walk away feeling encouraged, grounded, and reminded that even when life doesn't make sense, there is still beauty to be found.
In this episode we discuss:If this conversation encouraged you, I hope you'll share it with someone who may be walking through a difficult season. Kathy's message is one of hope, resilience, and unwavering faith, and I know it will bless so many people.
