In this episode Lucy discusses the reality of being in a rut, feeling low on inspiration and things that have helped her to find inspiration and a sense of purpose. Feeling low energy is something we all experience - it's worth remembering that it's so natural to have low points, but also that there are practical things we can do to feel better. Lucy also chats about how being busy and socialising post-lockdown can be kinda overwhelming and how someone's highlight reel on social media doesn't necessarily equate to them feeling good mentally - so spare yourself the negative thought patterns of comparison!!

Happy Pride Month! This week, Lucy's having a chat about all the different ways we can choose to identify ourselves, the ways in which identity is useful and the ways it's not. Sometimes we can feel like we owe it to people to live up to their ideas of who we are, but really it's up to us how we want to be seen. Change is so inevitable too - our lives change all the time, so it's natural that parts of our identity change over our lives as well - once we realise that we're free to define ourselves however we like and stop restricting ourselves with labels that no longer fit with who we are, we're free to do so much more than we might have thought possible.

"Routine is the enemy of time."

Like most things, productivity isn't inherently good or bad, but when it becomes an endless competition with others and stress leaves us continually feeling burnout and unmotivated, surely our societal norms have gone amiss somewhere along the way? In this episode, Lucy discusses her thoughts and experiences with toxic productivity, hustle culture and burnout, offers some advice for reducing stress and being more mindful as well as chatting about the problems with our capitalist mindsets. 

According to research by the Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 6 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given week, with the number 1 cause of this being work-related stress- so it's clearly an important topic to talk about. Know that you're not alone if you feel stressed, anxious or low and please chat to a loved one about how you're feeling or seek professional help. Lots of love.
