Ask, Seek, Knock

This Sunday, Devon teaches from Luke 11:1-13. Jesus invites His disciples not merely to learn how to pray, but to become people whose lives are deeply formed by prayer. The Lord’s Prayer gives believers a starting point rooted in intimacy with the Father, dependence on His provision, confession, forgiveness, and a desire for His kingdom. Jesus calls His followers to pray with shameless persistence—continually asking, seeking, and knocking while trusting that their Heavenly Father hears them. Even when God’s answers do not look like what we hoped for, we can trust that He is good, is not punishing or withholding from us, and knows what we truly need. Ultimately, the greatest gift of prayer is not simply answered requests but more of God Himself through the Holy Spirit, drawing us into deeper intimacy with Him and shaping our desires to reflect His heart.
