This week's Astrology is a bit of a mixed bag. And with the Eclipse season underway, it can be pretty powerful and tumultuous. It is a good time for journaling and reflection. 

On September 15, we will be getting a Venus trine Jupiter, a very loving energy that is good for friends and family. And then we are also getting Venus Opposite Chiron which can be wounding and healing at the same time - it can go either way. Natalie encourages us to speak our truth and at the same time speak from the heart differently. To identify things that have not worked in the past and try to do things in a different way.

This week, we are getting a Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces. This is a good time to let go of the past. Many of us have a fear of endings that we can sometimes resist, not knowing this is key to new beginnings.

When the Astrology of the week is not too optimistic, some of the best things we can do is to tide this week's challenges by decluttering and organizing our lives.

This week may be a sort of Debbie Downer, but how much the energies will affect you depends on how you prepare and respond to what the universe sends our way.

In this week's episode of the Mainly Moonology Podcast, my good friend and astrologer, Kelly Surtees joins us to look at what's in store for us and what are the best ways we can respond to challenging Astrology and Moonology and turn it into an opportunity to get ready when more favorable alignments take place. The first aspect of the week: Sun Opposing Saturn, September 8
A grounding and clarifying aspect. This is a good time to come to terms with your limits, understand your boundaries, and focus on your priorities. It can be a limiting, overwhelming feeling. Saturn is a planet that reminds us of consequences, making us rethink where we didn't say no. The best thing you can do is to understand what might be upsetting you.

After that, on September 9, we are getting Mercury in Virgo, an excellent time to get some clarity to plan, declutter your mind, and recover from the low energies from the previous aspect. It's a great time for making decisions. Send that email, and move the needle forward - it is the opportunity to act on what you want.

It's a New Moon Week and it will be happening in the sign of Virgo.

Virgo is the organized sign. This is a good time to get your things in order and try to make your life more functional. Ask yourself, "What can you do this week to make you feel like you have your ducks in a row?"

This week may start a bit jarring. Life goes in cycles and as we have had some easier days, some days are meant to be challenging.  This is the Universe's way of asking us: "What changes do you REALLY want to make in your life?".

A meditation practice can really help you this week. Try to think about the person you want to be and keep acting the way that person would.

In this episode, we will talk about the Astrology and Moonology this week including the Venus-Saturn Opposition, Sun-Uranus Square, Jupiter-Saturn Square, the upcoming Full Moon in Aquarius which will be a Blue Moon, and how you can navigate those energies over the coming week.

The week ahead kicks off with Mercury Retrograde smashing into the planet of chaos and mayhem, Uranus. Feelings will be running high and things may seem like they are sent to test us.

Try not to panic. This too shall pass.

We are also seeing a Jupiter-Saturn Square. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, optimism, and amplification while Saturn is all about hard work, facing reality, and hard lessons. When these two slow-moving planets clash, we will see a tug-of-war between these two very different planets. Think of seeing the glass half full at one point and then reality hits and somehow it feels half-empty again. This is something we will experience again by the end of the year.

Pay attention to the lessons that are coming up to you this week. What is life trying to teach you? Journaling will be very helpful at this time.

The good news is that the rest of the week gets easier.

We have some pretty intense energies with the Astrology this week.

On August 14, Wednesday, there will be a Mars-Jupiter alignment that is taking place in the sign of Gemini. Jupiter is an amplification planet while Mars is the action planet and is about pushing forward. This could go both ways. it is a good week to really go for something that you truly want. On the other hand, this could also be a time when people will be talking their heads off without a lot of listening.

Also, Mercury is still in Retrograde. It started last week in the sign of Virgo and will reach a turning point as it re-enters Leo. It will be a good chance to reacquaint yourself with what is fabulous - what is great about you. If you have been feeling insecure or not fabulous, as we all do from time to time when life gets hard.
This is a good time to take a moment to think about who you really are and ask yourself

• What is fabulous about yourself?
• What do you enjoy doing creatively?

Remember who you really are. Mercury re-entering Leo invites us to reconnect with who we truly are. It provides a chance to reacquaint ourselves with our creative abilities.

On the 15th of August, we are seeing a Sun alignment with the wounded healer, Chiron.  This is a good time to ask yourself:

• Where in your life do you need healing?
• What would need to happen for you to feel that a certain situation is healed?

It is a New Moon this week in the sign of Leo and things are looking good! We are having a harmonious aspect in Mars, Jupiter, and Gemini and that means *fingers crossed* some very good restarts.

It is also that time of the year again when it is said that the Lion's Gate Portal is activated. It is one of the most controversial events that has the Astrology community divided. In this episode of the Mainly Moonology Podcast, we are revisiting a beloved episode that explores what Lion's Gate is and what Astrologers think of this cosmic event.

And instead of choosing one side, I put out my journalist hat and invited two amazing Astrologers who have different takes on this event.

So what IS Lion's Gate?

It is said, the Lion's Gate portal opens once a year on 8/8. This is a time when the sun is in Leo, Orion's belt, the star Sirius, as well as the earth all line up.  In numerology, 8 also carries a lot of significance, so two 8s when August 8 (8/8) happens, it gives the practitioner a potent opportunity to manifest their deepest dreams and desires.

For non-believers, 8/8 doesn't add up. It seems to be a miscommunication about an Aquarius lunar eclipse in 1998 and is not considered Astrology.

Whichever side you stand, If there is an important takeaway we can all agree on it is that it really is about the intention we put behind things and the sacred space we create around ourselves.

"Power is generated when many minds are focusing on the same thing collectively."

Make the most out of this event, no matter which side of the coin you stand, by meditating on the majesty of the lioness.

• Angels will speak with you in the language you prefer.
• Tarot is life and life is challenging. There are going to be difficult cards, 
• A reading is not fate, it is the energy of where you are at this moment and where you are likely headed. If you don't like it, change.
• Call upon specific Angels to help you with your intentions for the reading. Archangel Gabriel is the Archangel of communication and can be called upon to help you understand
• Learn about Automatic Writing and how to talk to angels through Angelspeake by Barbara Mark and Trudy Griswold 

How do I ask the Divine for guidance when doing a reading?

• Start with your Guardian Angels, they are dedicated to you 24/7. 
• Get to know them and build a relationship with them
• Create a daily exercise where you connect with your Angels

Romance is in the air this week with the Full Moon in Capricorn and the Venus-Jupiter Alignment that's coming up, it is a good time to write down and visualize what you are looking for and the kind of relationship you want to attract in your life. There is, however, a bit of caveat to that as there will be a Mercury-Uranus clash that might bring unexpected news.

Overall, this week's Astrology is quite positive.

We are getting a harmonious aspect between the Sun and Neptune which is great for meditation and chanting.

If you are having a hard time sitting still and starting to get in the zone, I suggest putting on Solfeggio Frequencies to get you started.  I previously interviewed healer, Kim Hanlon, who explained how these frequencies can help us and which ones can help a specific need.

It is also the time to start thinking about the rest of your life: What is it that you really want for your life? What part of your life is toxic? Where are the power struggles in your life?

This is the second consecutive Full Moon in Capricorn. We briefly touched on it in last week's episode as the Full Moon happens this Sunday. When you get a Full Moon in your chart, a tug-of-war is created there. Understanding where in your chart it is taking place can help you understand what you need to release or submit to the divine. Two Full Moons in a row like this one gives us a second chance for release and letting go.

And by releasing things that no longer serve us, we can raise our vibrations and that makes us stronger manifestors.
