Indianapolis 500 winner and ex-Formula 1 driver Marcus Ericsson is here to answer your questions on this week’s episode of The Race IndyCar Podcast.
The Chip Ganassi Racing driver took questions from the podcast’s audience from Twitter.
Obviously the Swede’s Indy 500 victory is a big topic of conversation, including what he felt when he crossed the line, the ‘craziest’ moment since and what it was like taking his trophy back to Sweden.
However, the Brickyard success isn’t the only thing on the agenda. IndyCar’s lack of a new chassis to join a new engine in 2024, more ovals on the calendar, what the series can do to get more viewers and his favourite track to drive are all questions that Ericsson answers.
He also discusses how much involvement he has in the design of the livery on his cars, his take on fan interaction in the F1 paddock, the number of races on the F1 calendar and even what is his favourite pizza topping.
Regular hosts JR Hildebrand and Jack Benyon face a grilling as well, taking questions on how much testing there is in IndyCar and how it fits into a season, and also if the Indy 500 is marketed to the detriment of the other races on the calendar.
