  • #119 - Swish (Manu) Goswami | Meet This 21-Year-Old LinkedIn Legend
“It wouldn’t surprise me if this 19-year-old one day becomes Prime Minister. Manu Goswami hunted me down and interviewed me on ideas around success. It was wonderful meeting one of our best and brightest up & coming young minds.” – Michael Hyatt, CEO of BlueCat Networks

Swish Goswami is a 21-year-old two-time TEDx speaker (signed with Speakers’ Spotlight and The AAT Project), venture capitalist (at JB Fitzgerald Venture Capital founded by NBA player Trevor Booker), LinkedIn Youth Editor (over 65K followers) UN Youth Ambassador and serial entrepreneur.

After successfully building Technotronics, Swish is now the founder and CEO of Trufan, a new age media company building technology to help influencers, brands and agencies discover and reward their top fans. Swish has previously acted as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies like Google, Western Union, and American Express. He also sits on various boards including at Dunk (media network of 10M followers hyper-focused on basketball) and the League of Innovators (Canadian charity started by Ryan Holmes, CEO of HootSuite).

Swish has been published in over fifty national and international publications and has notably been inducted into Plan Canada’s Top 20 under 20, recognized as Startup Canada’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year and won the United Nation’s Outstanding Youth Leadership award.

When Manu was 10, he started a hovercraft business and employed his own father as his Chief Project Engineer. Manu sold his first and only hovercraft for $200 which he donated to a local orphanage. Manu grew up with a speech impediment and though he was never bullied, he was not ignorant to the stigma faced by individuals who suffer from mental, verbal, and physical disabilities. This was a contributing factor in shaping Manu’s continued belief that the most successful businesses can be built on a foundation that provides a positive social impact to others.

He is also an avid advocate for youth entrepreneurship and mental health having collectively represented over 260,000 students and reached over 6,000 children internationally by acting as the National Youth Ambassador for several organizations including the Leave the Pack Behind initiative, Speak Your Mind Project, Progeria Research Foundation, Alberta’s Ministry of Education, Center for Addiction and Mental Health’s Thought Spot initiative, and the Next Big Thing.

Manu was recently appointed a United Nations Youth Ambassador, becoming the second Canadian to receive this distinction. As an ambassador, Manu will be delivering a speech on food security at the 71st Session of the United Nations, working with a focus group led by former British diplomat Thomas Fletcher with the aim of drafting a report for the United Nations on how it can improve using digital technology to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and attending the 2016 UN Youth Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York City.

  • #118 - Allie Casazza | Embracing a Simpler, Life-Giving, Abundant Motherhood
Allie Casazza is an entrepreneur, author, inspirational speaker and more importantly a mother. Her passion is helping her fellow women find hope and light when Satan has stolen their motherhood, and infusing them with the truth and purpose God has for them. She believes motherhood and humor should always go hand-in-hand, otherwise, you'll never get through it.

Allie is the wife of Brian, her seventh-grade algebra partner turned sweetheart. They have four small kids who were born in five years. They are SoCal natives living in the beautiful Northwest corner of Arkansas.

    Allie helps people like...

    - The overwhelmed mom who feels like every day she barely makes it through. I am here for her because I used to be her, and I found a secret- a way out of survival mode and desperation once and for all.
    - The mom who feels like all she does is clean up, so much so that she isn't really enjoying her family.
    - The mom who feels like life is happening to her. Like there's a major lack of control, and it's not a healthy one.
    - The mom who feels like she never has enough time in the day to accomplish what she needs to.

Allie spent the first four years of her motherhood completely miserable. She was overwhelmed, overworked, battled a heavy depression, and just barely scraping by in life. She was stuck in survival mode and there seemed to be no way out. When she began to simplify and remove the unnecessary things that were taking up all her time, she discovered a light at the end of the tunnel.

Everything got lighter, simpler, better. She finally shook her depression and it never came back. Allie had more free time, was actually enjoying and playing with her kids, was happier, was fulfilled, and was able to serve my family and be the best version of herself. Now she spends her free time helping her fellow women get to that same place in their lives.

  • FLOW #43 - Your Brain's Default Mode is NOT Happiness
You're listening to the 43rd episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on humanity's true nature despite the culture social media message.

Anyone can feel positive. Anyone can enjoy the happy brain chemicals that positivity unleashes.

That may seem foolish because the bad in the world is so obvious. Negativity may seem like an intelligent response to the world around you. But when you know how your brain creates that response, you have the power to create a new one.

We have inherited a brain that’s inclined to go negative. It’s not that we want to feel bad—on the contrary, our brain evolved to seek good feelings. We go negative because our brain expects negativity to feel good. This paradox makes sense when you know the operating system we’ve inherited from our animal ancestors.

All mammals have the same brain chemicals controlled by the same basic brain structures. Your mammal brain rewards you with good feelings when you do things that promote your survival. But your brain defines survival in a quirky way. This is why we end up with patterns that feel bad in our quest to feel good.

You can transcend your natural mammalian negativity. You can train your brain to go positive. Positivity does not mean ignoring the realities of life. It means adjusting for the brain’s natural tendency to ignore the positives of life. Whether you’re frustrated by your own negativity or the negativity of others, The Science of Positivity can help.

You may find it hard to believe that there are good things you’ve missed. It’s easy to think your internal responses are caused by external facts because that is what the verbal part of your brain says. But your mammal brain doesn’t process language so your two brains are literally not on speaking terms. Your internal responses rest on neural pathways paved by your early neurochemical ups and downs. The electricity in your brain flows into those old pathways unless you carve new ones. This book shows you how to build new pathways and give your electricity a new place to flow!

  • FLOW #42 - Literally Everything You Want in Life is Waiting For You
You're listening to the 42nd episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on my story of interviewing Seth Godin in under 24 hours.

August 1st, I interviewed Jeremy Ryan Slate. I saw a normal guy rise above & beyond his situation. Jeremy is the host of Create Your Own Life Podcast... he told me that it took him 400 episodes to reach Seth Godin. He said “He likes big numbers.”

Later in the day I wrote an email to Seth. It took me a solid hour.

I poured my heart into it…complete state of FLOW.

    Send. Didn’t even read it.

21 minutes later Seth got back to me.

He said - "thanks, let’s record it soon"

…he scheduled it for the next day

Our interview was much better than expected.

I said - “Technology is always changing the environment. We should be mindful of the mediums and communication methods but the fundamental’s are never going to change.”

Seth says - “I love that. You should be a copywriter for me”

    and then I understood it...

Seth took a shot on me, someone who could never repay him back because somebody once did that for him.

I also realized everything I want in life is on the other side of my willingness to try.

This changed my life. After this, I set up interviews with people liked Ed Mylett & Naveen Jain. I spent a long time chasing this vision in my head of having the greatest podcast in the world but I realized the only thing stopping me was myself.

I don't know about you...but I'm going to DESTROY today for my dreams and I hope you do the same.

  • #116 - Luke Schlueter | World's First Robotic Restaurant in Boston (Spyce)
“Spyce is the world’s first restaurant featuring a robotic kitchen,” said Luke Schlueter, SB ’16, lead mechanical engineer on the Spyce team. “Basically our goal is to use automation to provide wholesome, high-quality, delicious meals at a very affordable price.”

On May 3, Spyce opened for business in downtown Boston, a far cry — though not a far distance — from its beginning days on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The menu is based on a half-dozen bowls with flavors that are common in Latin, Mediterranean, and Asian dishes. Every bowl starts at $7.50, and customers can add on other proteins for an additional cost.

The co-founders said the next few months will focus on concept testing and validation, with the goal of opening more restaurants in the Boston area.

“We got our start being hungry MIT college kids,” Schlueter said. “One of our co-founders, Michael (Farid) had recently started his grad program getting his masters in mechanical engineering and he no longer had the option for food through the dining hall. He didn’t have time to cook for himself every night, and he was fed up with paying $10, $12, $13 for those fast-casual meals, and he thought ‘there must be a better way.’”

Farid, MechE ’16, decided to see if he could build a robot that could cook him meals. He pitched the idea to his friends Schlueter, Braden Knight, BS ’16, and Kale Rogers, BS ’16.

I had the opportunity to conduct this interview at the restaurant in Boston!

  • #115 - Sean Croxton | Changing Your Mindset & Relationship with Money
Sean Croxton is the Host of The Quote of The Day Show podcast, Co-Founder of Jerfbar, teacher at Money Mind Academy and overall amazing human being.

In 2007, he stumbled upon this thing called YouTube where he created one of the first health-based video channels on the internet, sharing seemingly complicated matters of health in a way that everyone could understand.

Soon thereafter in 2008, he launched his first podcast Underground Wellness Radio, on which he interviewed authors and experts in the alternative health space. The program ran for 7 years with over 10 million downloads and 348 episodes about all things real food and functional medicine with a sprinkle of personal development on the side.

During his seven years with Underground Wellness (UW), Sean penned his still-popular Dark Side of Fat Loss ebook, started the JERF (Just Eat Real Food) movement, and hosted seven online summit events, including The Thyroid Sessions, Digestion Sessions, and The Depression Sessions.

In late 2015, Sean walked away from his thriving UW brand to create a new movement in the world of personal development and the science of mind. The nerd in him couldn’t stop wondering what makes people do what they do and not do the things they really want to do.

He has become an ardent student of the mind, studying the timeless works of Neville Goddard, Henry Thomas Hamblin, Napoleon Hill, Ernest Holmes, and Bob Proctor.

His goal is to blend the vintage works of these writers with the more modern research in the field of neurology, and to teach one million people how to use their minds to give and get everything they want in life.

Sean is the host of The Sean Croxton Sessions, one of the internet’s most popular Self-Help podcasts. He is enrolled as a student in the Proctor Gallagher Consultant program as well as the Robbin-Madanes Training course.

  • #114 - Erik Davis | Technology’s Hidden Metaphysical Dimension (Techgnosis)
Erik Davis is an author, podcaster, award-winning journalist, and popular speaker based in San Francisco.

How does our fascination with technology intersect with the religious imagination?

Erik Davis argues that while the realms of the digital and the spiritual may seem worlds apart, esoteric and religious impulses have in fact always permeated (and sometimes inspired) technological communication.

Davis uncovers startling connections between such seemingly disparate topics as electricity and alchemy; online roleplaying games and religious and occult practices; virtual reality and gnostic mythology; programming languages and Kabbalah.

The final chapters address the apocalyptic dreams that haunt technology, providing vital historical context as well as new ways to think about a future defined by the mutant intermingling of mind and machine, nightmare, and fantasy.

Exploring the mystical impulses behind our obsession with information technology, TechGnosis presents a fascinating and passionately original perspective on technoculture.

Today we often assume that the triumph of technological rationality has condemned the spiritual imagination to the trash heap of history. But as Erik Davis explains, religious impulses and magical dreams permeate the history of technology. Ranging from the printing press to the telegraph, from radio to the Internet, David peels away the utilitarian shell of technology to reveal the mystical and millennialist fervor that attends each new communications breakthrough.

As he unveils the hidden history of techno-mysticism, Davis shows how the religious imagination continues to feed the utopian dreams, apocalyptic visions, and alien obsessions that populate today's technological unconscious.

In these pages, Davis offers a lucid, playful, and astonishingly erudite journey through our hyper-mediated environment. Anyone grappling with the morphing boundaries and terminal speed of our present moment will want to take the ride.

"TechGnosis is a dazzling, sweeping look at the metaphysical urges underlying our technological progress. From exploring the Singularity to positioning man as the “spiritual cyborg”, Erik Davis reveals our technological subconscious and writes with a flair that crackles the mind. I LOVE this book."

  • FLOW #41 - Why Humans 2.0 Will Be The World's #1 Podcast
You're listening to the 41st episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on why I believe that Humans 2.0 will be the world's top podcast.

    Why?

Because it has nothing to do with me...it has to do with you.

I experienced a quantum shift in my life because I started reading books by the greatest teachers. It's not about getting advice...it's about hearing other Human's talk about their own insecurities, fears, doubts and understanding that they are just like you.

In our minds, we have this illusion that the world's most successful people are just different. They are confident, powerful, wealthy, because of their circumstances. I'm here to tell you that it's not true. EVERYONE has thoughts of anxiety & depression.

The difference is...they take action despite their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

I want the Humans 2.0 podcast to be a conduit for that and for YOU to understand the intelligence paradigm and create change in your own life.

Why? Because when you change your life...the people around you take notice and start changing themselves as well. That's how we change the world.

Change doesn't come from governments, corporations, nations, etc...it comes from individuals just like you and I.

  • Inspiration | Dogma - Living with the Results of Other People's Thinking
Friend: hey mark, don’t you know 75% Of businesses fail?
    Me: okay

Friend: hey mark, Don’t you know that 60% of Americans are Obese and have a chronic illness?
    Me: Okay

Friend: Hey Mark, don't you know that 1 in 10 Americans are addicted to something
    Me. Okay

Me: I don't understand what does that have to do with me?

You see. There's a reason why Humans have been able to survive for so long and become the dominant species on this planet. In the past, the goal was always to survive. Just slide by. Make it to tomorrow.

If you can avoid the black plague, or hide from the neighboring invading tribe. You survived.

We are the descendents of the most neurotic, anxious, fearful human beings that existed.

“"There's a lot of things that evolved for good reason about how we behave. The thing you're trying to avoid with saber tooth tigers or social banishment, the opposite is true if you want to invent something new, write, make a presentation, etc.” - Seth Godin

and this is the reality of living in 2018 and beyond…we are living in the physically safest & greatest time in human history.

We're all born into this world with a dream. A destiny, a date, a unique problem to solve here during our time on planet Earth.

These opinions, the things you hear from the people around you....is from the overlapping language of generations and generations of just making it by, surviving.

As David Goggins says - most people have opinions about something they've never done.

Because it's easier to judge than actually independently think. If you're not average...average people will pull you down to their level.

After interviewing hundreds of successful people I've learned...

They're not smarter, more talented, have better luck or anything like that

They take action despite their own thoughts, feelings and emotions.

The key is to take that same survival instinct we were born with and go on the offense to get what we want in life.
