  • #113 - Isaac Lidsky | Master the Reality You Create for Yourself
Isaac Lidsky is an American corporate speaker, author and entrepreneur. Before losing his sight he played Weasel on NBC's Saved by the Bell: The New Class. He is the only blind person to serve as a law clerk for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Lidsky graduated from Harvard at 19 with an honors degree in mathematics and computer science. He graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude. As a U.S. Justice Department lawyer, Lidsky argued more than a dozen appeals in federal court on behalf of the United States and never lost a case. He founded a nonprofit organization to fund the development of treatments for blinding diseases and within 5 years grew it to a dozen cities nationwide and more than $5 million. The technology company he founded sold for $230 million.

In 2016 Lidsky set out to share with others his empowering approach to living and leading, and he was promptly recognized as a visionary thought leader. Penguin Random House acquired for publication his first book, Eyes Wide Open, and it hit the shelves as a New York Times best seller in March 2017. TED invited Lidsky to present a mainstage TED Talk at TEDSUMMIT 2016 in Banff, Canada, and it was viewed more than a million times in 20 days. Lidsky now speaks to and works with organizations around the world.

He has been recognized for his achievements dozens of times and his leadership is routinely sought after. He is an advisor to a $1+ billion tech “unicorn.” He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the world’s premier peer network of chief executives and business leaders, and was tapped to lead the Orlando Chapter and to serve on the Regional Executive Committee for the Southeast U.S. and Caribbean. He was asked to join the Young Entrepreneur Council. He has been appointed to State leadership positions by the Governor of Florida and to a federal position by a U.S. Senator. He sits on the Board of the Florida Hospital For Children. He was named 1 of 4 Temple Bar Scholars by the United Kingdom’s Inns of Court and brought to London for a month-long idea exchange with UK Supreme Court Justices and leading barristers.

Perhaps most striking, Lidsky is only 37, and he is blind. Born with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a rare degenerative disease of the retina, from age 12 to 25 he slowly lost his sight. As his bio makes clear, neither his youth nor his blindness have limited him, however.

This is true in his professional life and personal life alike. Isaac married Dorothy, the love of his life, in June 2004. In September 2010 she gave birth to their triplets, Lily Louise, Phineas and Thaddeus—collectively, “The Tripskys”—and in December 2015 baby Clementine completed the family. The six Lidskys live in Windermere, Florida.

  • #111 - Dr. Don Vaughn | Neurohacking: Rewiring Your Brain & Future of Intelligence
Dr. Don Vaughn is an academic neuroscientist, futurist, international public speaker, and consultant. His foci include neuroscience, human behavior, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Since graduating from Stanford, Dr. Vaughn’s research has been featured in TIME magazine, profiled by Cadillac, and received over a million views in his TEDx talk “neurohacking: rewiring your brain”. He has been an opinion leader for a wide range of news outlets from The Wall Street Journal to NBC News.

Neurohacking is the colloquial term for (usually personal or 'DIY') neuroengineering. It is a form of biohacking (qv) focusing on the brain and CNS. Strictly speaking it is any method of manipulating or interfering with the structure and/or function of neurons for improvement or repair.

Artificial Intelligence is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.

  • FLOW #38 - 13 Tips for Hosting a Top Charts Podcast
You're listening to the 38th episode of the Humans 2.0 podcast, solo-series, FLOW! Today's episode is on what I've learned over the past months that led me to host a top charts podcast.

    1. Unless you are talented and have mentors, don’t expect anyone to listen for the next 6-18 months.

    2. Embrace intellectual humility and admit when you are wrong / don’t know what you’re talking about.

    3. Don’t equate your self-worth with the number of downloads your podcast has.

    4.  If somebody asks to be on your show, connect with them via a call first and make sure it’s a right fit. Don't be afraid to say NO!

    5. Video interviews are much better for human to human contact and putting up on YouTube and promoting after.

    6. Listen from the perspective of your audience.

    7. Before the Interview, tell the guest this is not live and can be edited after.

    8. After the interview ask your guest who would be a good fit for this podcast.

    9. Heavily research your guest and establish a chronological timeline.

    10.  Success is ALWAYS in the Follow-up (99% of people don’t do)

    11. Treat your guests like normal human beings (high-profile guests)

    12.  Don’t invite a guest just to get them on your show for the name (cross-name ranking)

    13.  It takes time and effort to build the podcast of your dreams….that’s why most people quit.

I get messages every day from individuals and companies asking me for advice and to consult their podcasting ventures! Hope this helps :)

  • Inspiration | The Entire Game is You Vs. You
This inspirational clip is based on November 8th, 2016, the day my entire life changed. I came to the realization that Life is You Vs. You and I hope this audio articulates my realization accross to your perceptual appartus!

“It was always me versus the world, until I found it's me versus me." - Kendrick Lamar

As humans we have the unbelievable ability to blame our circumstances, our parents, our country, our boss, loans, debt, mortgages, the government, race, where you came from…everything but ourselves.

    but how could this be….

"Most of us have two lives. the life we live and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance." - Steven Pressfield

you are just one decision away from living a completely different life…and that’s because there’s a chance that the life you are living right now…isn’t even yours.

If you don’t control your mind, a narrative, corporations, people around you will control it for you.

and some people don’t even care or are even aware….

Here’s what we end up doing…we bandaid the bridge between our real internal world within our external world with things, possessions, people, chemicals, and even thought patterns…

and at some subconscious level…in the abyss and cracks of our minds….our brain knows the truth...

As Jay Shetty says - “the words we’re using now like woke / awaken it all means we’re consciously asleep…therefore all of these people creating are trying to wake each other up…and we all know if you don’t wake up in the morning the alarm has to get louder, and louder, and louder, and louder.”

Now, this awareness is raging below you. Many people feel this and embody resentment, hatred, greed, envy, destruction, malevolence, and it’s because they’re not accepting themselves.

A parent, teacher, friend, might’ve said “don’t do that” or “play it safe” these thoughts build inside our minds and end up forming our psychology when we get older…

and I think the only way to overcome this…

    is to submit….

    Surrender….

    Give in….

    Annihilate your Ego’s current perspective

Most of us are hanging by a thread…we want to control the world….because we don’t have faith..

and this is the main problem… it’s not the world..its you..

You’re looking at life through the lens of a fixed and outdated perspective…our brains are always trying to fight reality..

"If you walked in on your friend sitting on the couch trying to jam a square peg into a round hole. You'd say stop it you're crazy. That's what your mind does all day long....your mind is trying to change the past.” - Ira Israel

Get in the present moment. Start living your life on your own terms. and Maybe just maybe you can have an extraordinary life worth living…not just for you but for all of those around you.

  • #110 - Jay Heinrichs | Mastering the Art of Persuasion w/ NYT Bestseller
Jay is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Thank You for Arguing: What Aristotle, Lincoln, and Homer Simpson Can Teach Us About the Art of Persuasion. The book has been published in 12 languages and three editions. The leading modern work on rhetoric, it is one of the top ten books assigned at Harvard.

His latest book is How to Argue with a Cat: A Human's Guide to Persuasion.

While it’s hard, persuading a cat is possible. And after that, persuading humans becomes a breeze, and that is what you will learn in this book. How to Argue with a Cat will teach you how to:

    · Hold an intelligent conversation―one of the few things easier to do with a cat than a human.
    · Argue logically, even if your opponent is furry and irrational.
    · Hack up a fallacy (the hairball of logic).
    · Make your body do the talking (cats are very good at this).
    · Master decorum: the art of fitting in with cats, venture capitalists, or humans.
    · Learn the wisdom of predator timing to pounce at the right moment.
    · Get someone to do something or stop doing it.
    · Earn any creature’s respect and loyalty.

He is a Professor of the Practice of Rhetoric and Oratory at Middlebury College.

A content and editorial consultant specializing in persuasive engagement, Jay serves clients ranging from NASA to Southwest Airlines to the Wharton School of Business.

He maintains popular websites on language and persuasion, including ArgueLab.com, WordHero.org, and Figarospeech.com.

A former editorial director with Rodale Inc. (publishers of Men’s Health, Prevention, and the South Beach Diet), Jay is the former editor of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, group publisher of the Ivy League Network, founding editor of US Airways Attaché, deputy editor of Outside, and vice president of content for the SiteShell Network, an online consortium of radio stations.

Jay lives with his wife, Dorothy Behlen Heinrichs, a principal gifts officer for the Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. They live on 150 acres at the base of Cardigan Mountain in New Hampshire.

  • #109 - Moran Cerf | Hacker Turned Bank Robber Turned Technological Neuroscientist
Moran Cerf is a professor of neuroscience and business at the Kellogg School of Management.
Prior to his academic career, professor Cerf worked as a hacker for nearly a decade, breaking into leading financial and government institutes to test and improve their security. His hacking background has led him to later pursue non-traditional ways to investigate the brain, using methods and techniques that benefit from heavy computational skills and novel research tools. Notably, he has been working with patients undergoing brain-surgery where he studies behavior, emotion, decision making and dreams by directly recording the activity of individual neurons using electrodes implanted in the patients' brain.

He holds multiple patents and his work has been published in wide-circulation academic journals such as Nature, as well as popular science journals such as Scientific American Mind, Wired, New Scientist and more. Additionally, his work has been portrayed in numerous media outlets such as Time, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg, NPR, MSNBC and dozens of others. Additionally, he is the Alfred P. Sloan screenwriting Professor at the American Film Institute.

He has been featured in venues such as the Venice Art Biennial and China’s Art, Science and Technology conference, and has contributed to magazines such as Forbes, The Atlantic, Inc. and others.

Professor Cerf has had short-lived careers as a furniture-designer, a pilot, a radio host, and a filmmaker, and he has served on the boards of pharmaceutical, telecom and fashion companies.

He is a multiple-times national story-telling champion (’The Moth’), and his public talks at TED, Google Zeitgeist, PopTech, DLD and others have received millions of views and a large following.

In addition to his academic career, professor Cerf is a science consultant for various Hollywood films and TV shows ('Bull', ‘Limitless’, ‘Falling Water’, and more).

Recently, he was named one of the "40 leading professors below 40”.
