Adrian Pritchard talks to Sound artist Rob Mullender -Ross and Fleetwood artist Omani Hanmer about the sound media workshops conducted at the studios on behalf of the "Pride & Place Project" funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Dr Rob Mullender is fascinated with sound, and its ability to mediate and make meaning within multiple contexts. He works with sound within its broadest definitions (not ‘just’ as music); a sensory, active, social medium, revealing different ways of engaging with people and place.
These workshops engaged participants in building a sense of place through sound recording, listening, narrative and composition and weaving them into stories, impressions, histories, textures etc; creating works which build a sense ofplace through sound.
