    Summary

Have you ever grasped the difference between a retreat and a workshop? Has your business as a retreat leader been slow because of the pandemic or because you’re just not attracting enough attention?

Sheri Rosenthal is a practicing physician. She is also the owner of Journeys of the Spirit Travel. It's a boutique agency specializing in the planning and management of group travel. She loves helping clients plan, fills, and profit from transformational retreats that change lives while adding serious income to their bottom line.

In this episode, Sheri shares her insights on how understanding retreat as an experiential and transformational event rather than treating it as a workshop can attract more clients and increase sales. She also adds how you can shift your in-person retreats to online retreats in the midst of the Corona Virus pandemic.

    Check out these episode highlights:

2:31- Sheri’s ideal client: “Basically, Tom, heart-based entrepreneurs who want to run transformational retreats, change lives and travel the world. Those are our favorite folks at Wanderlust Entrepreneur, which is my main company.”
2:51 - Problem Sheri helps solve: “Okay, so we help in two ways, Tom. First, we train our clients on how to plan, price, profit, and monetize their retreats, which is critical. And second, we train them on how to bring their in-person retreats and businesses online which is really critical right now.”
3:18 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Sheri: “So, Tom, most retreat leaders make no or very little money on their retreats, or they can't fill them because they don't know how to design and position them properly, or have a proper marketing plan in place, okay? Also, many of our clients who have been working strictly in person are realizing now that they need to move their offerings online so they can have an income even during a pandemic. So, they could do like a virtual retreat, but they got to get online.”
4:41 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Sheri’s solution: “Absolutely. So, when retreat leaders see that their retreats are not selling, one of the biggest mistakes they make is to lower the pricing and put it on sale.”
5:43 - Sheri’s Valuable Free Action (VFA): “Oh, absolutely. So, people do not want to travel and sit in a classroom all day, they want to experience something. They want the cosmic 2x4 to hit them upside the head and they want their lives to change. If you can create a retreat that promises that, your retreats will always sell out, I can promise that.”
7:19 - Sheri’s Valuable Free Resource (VFR): Check out Sheri’s Retreat Blueprint Program: https://www.wanderlustentrepreneur.com/retreat-blueprint-program/
8:17 - Q: Should folks be planning a retreat for 2020? A: The answer to that would be an absolutely, positively, hell yes! Because people are dying to get away and go on a retreat. I am. And if you don't have one ready, they're going to come on mine instead of yours.

  • How to Write a Killer Email Sequence That Converts – In Just 7 Minutes with Shawn Finder

Discover how to convert your email list to loyal and engaged customers by constructing a killer email sequence
Learn how to make an email sequence that would bring in sales and customers to your business
Find out the do’s and don’ts of proper emailing in order to attract more customers into your business

    Check out Shawn’s Website: https://autoklose.com/

    Summary

Are you sure you’re writing the right email for your customers? Are they really reading your emails or are they just stuck in their spam folders not wanting to be opened?

Shawn Finder, at the age of 24, entered the entrepreneurial world after competing as one of Canada’s top-ranked tennis players. He founded ExchangeLeads in 2013 which helps B2B companies build quality lists for outreaching new prospects. This was followed by his new venture Autoklose in 2017 that combines both sales engagement and list building all-in-one platform.

In this episode, Shawn shares his insights on how to make sure your email is getting the attention it needs by making sure it is concise, precise, and with a little bit of spice! He also shares how to construct the right email in order to avoid your customer’s spam folder (where your email will never be seen by your customer).

    Check out these episode highlights:

01:43 - Shawn’s ideal client: “So our ideal client would be small business owners or sales management who have a sales team. So, they would be our ideal clients, and obviously, sometimes we have national sales managers who would also sign up for the platform.”
02:00 - Problem Shawn helps solve: “Well, I mean, I would say we save salespeople hours a week in prospecting, by automating a lot of the tedious tasks they do on a daily basis. And we all know that one thing that people in salespeople hate doing is follow up so we automate that process for them.”
02:42 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Shawn: “Yeah, so I would say when a sales manager looks at their sales team and realizes there's a lack of follow up, so they're not following up their leads, they're sending one email, and they're thinking, "Okay, that person's not a concern." instead of sending 4,5,6 emails.”
04:00 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Shawn’s solution: “I mean, I think when some of the common mistakes I think is, you know, the emails people write are way too 'salesy'. You got to really focus on trying to drive that pain point or that challenge of that prospect in that email. And one of the biggest common mistakes is, is it doing- being way too ‘salesy’?”
04:57 - Shawn’s Valuable Free Action (VFA): “So the one thing I would say is in your email, your subject line, try and keep it to two to three words. And the reason why you want to do that is most people are reading up subject line on their mobile device, and they're only seeing three words. So, if you're writing eight words subject lines, they're not going to be able to see it.”
    06:13 - Shawn’s Valuable Free Resource (VFR): Check out Shawn’s Website: https://autoklose.com/
07:24 - Q: You have a sales engagement tool but what happens if people don't have data to put into the tool? How would that work? A: So, we actually allow you to upload your own data from what you have, and if you don't have your own data, but you still love the software, and you want to automate your outreach, we can actually provide you data all over the world.

    Check out these episode highlights:

1:39 - Simon’s ideal client: “Companies that are selling a complex product or service to a complex customer. The complex customer is someone who doesn't really, they're not really clear, not necessarily about what they want, but they're not clear about what's available to actually solve that for them.”

4:19 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Simon: “They'll be feeling like they're getting, they're having to charge a lower price than they believe the product is worth. And probably what's fueling that is they sell their product to the client at a price the client loves the product, and they say, "This is worth way more than what you're charging for it." That should be a red flag for everybody.”
6:02 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Simon’s solution: “The biggest problem or the biggest cause of problems is people in sales are failing to understand that every sale is an insurance policy. But usually, when people come to us at the end of the day, they're looking for the brand that is going to take them into the future trajectory. So that might sound abstract, but they're either, you know, their brand is outdated, they don't have a brand, or they're not happy with their brand.”
02:59 - Symptoms clients face before they seek help: “I define the brand is about creating a desired perception in people's minds. And so if that perception is not dialed in, some of the symptoms of why it's time to rebrand, it's usually a business-related issue, meaning you're not attracting the right customers, you're not attracting the right leads, or you're not converting, you are attracting the right leads, but you're not converting maybe your message is not dialed in.”
04:10 - Common mistakes people commit before they discover Re’s solution: “They build a brand that's for where they are right now, not for where they're going three to five years, which leads them to have to rebrand every six months every year because they're not looking into the future or further into the future.”

    Summary

Does it feel like it’s nearly impossible to grow your business once it has reached its maximum? Do you want to grow your business without feeling overwhelmed and overworked?

Breanne Dyck is the co-founder of the Visionary CEO Academy, visionaryceoacademy.com. She helps coaches, agency owners, and consultants who are overwhelmed and burning out because they've hit maximum capacity.

In this episode, Breanne talks about how to grow your business even if it’s at its maximum without feeling overwhelmed. She also shares tips on how to avoid feeling burned out when it comes to handling your business using her instant scale assessment.

    Check out these episode highlights:

1:11 - Breanne’s ideal client: “When I think about the perfect client, I think about this woman we worked with named Amy, who is a Facebook ads agency owner. She came to us and she said, every time she would get an email from a new client, she would say, "Oh God, I don't know if I can handle another client." She knew how to market, she knew how to sell, but she was completely overwhelmed and maxed out. So that's who we help best, people like Amy. Whether they got an agency or they're selling courses or programs, we help them to get out of the day to day so they can grow their business without the overwhelm.”
1:49 - Problem Breanne helps solve: “Well, I think it's really important to figure out what burnout looks like and how it shows up because it's not always obvious if you're dealing with this problem. The common symptoms that we look for are folks who, you know, between delivering the clients, doing sales and marketing, they're probably trying to manage a team. Maybe they've got some contractors that they're forming work to, that kind of stuff. They're trying to do all these things, and they want to have a life. And it's the life that starts to slip away first, right? You end up working harder and harder.”
3:23 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Breanne: “I would want to know when's the last time they actually took a vacation. And in our business, we have a concept that we call uncontaminated time. Now uncontaminated time is time that you spend not working on or in the business. So that's concept number one, when did you actually take a vacation that gave you uncontaminated time? Where you weren't looking in on your computer, you weren't checking to see if things were blowing up.”
4:31 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Breanne’s solution: “Tom, you said exactly the right thing here, which is that they're going to try a bunch of things. And so often we jump into automating, you know, a new funnel, or building out some new marketing, even though they're super busy with clients. It's like, we have this story that, you know, oh, it's going to dry up. And of course, go on Facebook and those are the ads you're going to see, right, is you have to automate your marketing, get your funnel set up, and yadda, yadda, right?”
5:57 - Breanne’s Valuable Free Action (VFA): “Well, I'm going to make a couple of maybe bold, not so bold, assumptions about the folks who are listening. The first assumption is that they've got a busines...

    Summary

Do you have a great product but you don’t get the number of sales you want? Do you believe your product deserves more than what the current number of sales are?

Ash Roy hosts the Productive Insights Podcast, and he features some of the world's absolutely top-shelf leading online entrepreneurs including Seth Godin, Amy Porterfield, Ryan Deiss, just to name a few. Also, he helps business owners to build their authority online and to do so profitably.

In this episode, Ash shares how important it is to empathize and connect with your customers in order to get the lead sales that you want. He also adds the importance of recognizing your mistakes when it comes to marketing your product.

    Check out these episode highlights:

1:11 - Ash’s ideal client: “An ideal client is a small business owner who is looking to grow his or her business profitably using online strategies that actually work. And I help them do that by my membership program.”
1:34 - Problem Ash helps solve: “So, the key problem that people come to me with is that they are not getting enough leads, or they're not able to grow their business profitably, or some version of that. But when I dig a little bit deeper, I often, not always but almost always, find that there isn't a deep enough understanding of the customer. And there isn't enough empathy for the customer, and that's where I talk about the empathy map.”
2:54 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Ash: “Right. So, often what they're finding is they're not able to resonate with their customers. They're not able to get responses to their messages on social media, their email. Open rates aren't great, their click-through rates aren't great. The ability to resonate with customers they reach out to, say on LinkedIn, isn't great. And often it comes back to not meeting the customer where the customer is on their journey.”
4:47 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Ash’s solution: “Often, they're trying to implement automated solutions, marketing automation, which is important, but I think that needs to be done after there is a deep empathy for the customer. Because if you automate a broken approach, you're just going to get a faster-broken approach. And if you're going to hurt your customers or annoy them with your messaging that's not targeted, you're just going to hurt your brand at a faster rate”
5:43 - Ash’s Valuable Free Action (VFA): “The first step to me is to develop deep empathy for your audience. And then from there, try and be as generous as you can in terms of a solution. And I have talked at length about it on my episode 117, and there's a little bit of a cheat sheet there as well on how to create your empathy map. You can find out more at productiveinsights.com/117.”
