Today’s word of the day is ‘glass ceiling’ as in breaking the glass ceiling as in raising up the ranks as in the Miami Marlins made a big time hire on Friday by hiring Kim Ng. She becomes the first female GM in the four major US sports. Let’s take a look at why Derek Jeter made this hire and what it means for the future (0:06). The NFL diversity rule is an interesting one. Teams will now get draft picks if a minority coach or GM is hired AWAY from their team. That’s right. Teams can get up to three 3rd round compensatory draft picks if they lose a coach or GM.
